Somewhere in the woods, behind a house off of Wells Street in Panama City Beach, Florida, is a mountain of memories, this mountain of oyster shells made from oysters long since shucked. Some were shucked by me, but most were opened by my grandfather, standing beside the redwood picnic table behind his house. Some of these oysters were bought wholesale, some were actually harvested by our hands, back when it was safe to eat oysters from anywhere. That mountain has been there for 35 years.
