Every now and then storms wash away the silt from the shore on that side, and you see pottery and bottles absolutely everywhere at the waters edge when the tide is out.
Somewhere near there along that path you were walking, is a Dene hole or Dane hole (a kind of cave or old flint mine hole where they say vikings would hide).

1974? Lol oops. Nice vid Chris although I live in West Yorkshire. Been to coal house fort many times great atmosphere and history inside and out.

It must be 45 years since I had a look inside Coal house fort .
