  • This is the most compact setup for any machine that inputs one (1) item and outputs one (1) item! This design actually doesn't clog as suggested in the video. I tested earlier. This is due to the fact that sorters don't actually hold the item and so can't get clogged :)

    Wow this is cool layout :D though I still prefer separate in/out line. It would be bad if coal are too much ..all output is clogged up and when it can come out, you have no input. Some people say sorter is better than router in your another video but he's wrong. For example, if your conveyor can take 12 items/sec. You mix them up then you divide this rate between your input/output so your feeding is slower than machine can process. And not only we waste space we attempt to compact, we also waste power except this graphite press

      @@AirNeat Sorry, I'm not native English speaker :P. I mean conveyor can move 12 items/second right? So mixing input with output in the same line. Makes our input/output rate slower ..it get in the way of each other even though it can go to the correct place in the end.

      @@AirNeat Yeah but bad conveyor lead to some presses idle. We may need 5 presses if we give it a bit more conveyors but need 10 presses for too compact conveyors to process the same amount of input ..in the end we waste a lot more spaces to those presses instead. Everyone be like "hey what a cool setup", but it's one of the worst ones, because it will have tendency to get stuck once the diagonal belts get full with Coal and then you have to manually remove the entire belt lines wasting tons of resources, let alone the resources you waste by having it stuck for 10-20 minutes until you randomly notice your graphite production has been offline the whole time. I prefer risk free setups that I don't have to monitor all the time. On every build have separate input/output so it can never get stuck no matter what happens. Yeah it will take more space, but for the full automation it's 100% worth it.

    • @AirNeat
      @AirNeat  4 роки тому

      Never had this design get stuck, so not sure the problem you're having. Sorry bud
      Maybe you didn't put down enough Graphite Presses to eat the coal

    • @Laireso
      @Laireso 4 роки тому

      @@AirNeat The upper producers will work as they have access to the output belt, but the 3 bellow can get easily stuck once too much coal gets pumped through the diagonal belt lines and no matter how fast belt you put there it won't help the flow. Once they get 10 graphite stored, they have nowhere to output and they also can't input anything.
      However the reliable production from upper producers won't be consuming coal fast enough to unstuck it when it gets to this point so at some point from 12 buildings only 3 will work until manually fixed. Maybe it would be better with output belt around the entire build so only the middle line can end up stuck, which shouldn't even happen as all other 9 will always have output belts to consume the coal.
      But why not waste 2 more blocks to do the same design metaglass is made of with 2 input belt lines of coal zigzagging and 1 output belt on the other side? 8 producers for 2 full normal belts are near perfect consumption/production, but if that's not enough graphite income for you, then you can always upgrade them to full titanium belts and extend the graphite producers on the other side with another 8 or upgrade the old ones for the more efficient graphite producers. This design is from my experience giving more than enough graphite for anything in the game and it has the mid-game/late-game scaling potential.

      Depending on the rate, you'd have to worry about back log. It has a max flux rate of about 12 or 13 per second. Oughtta be good with two or three basic conveyors for standard use. Just be sure to use pulse conveyors for the final products.
