- In this video I install a Tru-Lok from HD Extreme Offroad on my 2019 Polaris RZR XP Turbo. I show you how I installed the Tru-Lok and what mine was doing before I installed it. The Tru-Lok setup is a plug and play harness that is easy to install. HD Extreme Offroad done a great job making this kit easy to install and a quality item that should be on everyones list.

Just looking for some In put added teu lock to my 2017 polaris rzr turbo and when i plug the harness is i hey a code outfit back to stock all is back to normal basically the code is voltage above normal B+ and input will help thanks
I can ask around. I have not heard of this issue coming from the tru-LOK. If I can find anything I will post an update.
Ok thanks hd extreme seems really hard to get ahold of and I'm not getting anywhere with them basically told me to hook it up then trouble shoot.
Great video , Have had tru lock for about 6 months now. I do believe it has helped save my front diff. 2019 xp 1000.
Wish I would have done it from the start. Very knowledgeable guy told me to get it.
I made my own with a new 5-pin rocker switch, factory-style connectors for about $20. Full 12v to differential and works 100% when activated.
Nice. I looked into it after purchase just to see. This was all part of me trying to get a turbo diff to hold up short notice
MrTurbo64 how did you keep your engine light off
No engine light or code. Rocker switch lights up when I activate direct 12v to front diff and works great.
Do you recall which wire got the + at the diff? I'm building my own harness as well. Far cheaper than the extreme offroad one.
This is a great idea. I just emailed them to see if one of these harnesses is compatible with my Ranger
I'm sure someone makes a product for it
Gonna be installing this to see if it’ll fix my ratcheting, only does it on the hard obstacles when I need 4wd the most 😂.
I still like this product but most of the diffs are just not going to hold up to much abuse. Ive went to a rs1 style with much better results lately
Good video, love the shades.
Thanks. It helps me get into my character. Wait till you see the next one.
Can you install it without taking your front tires off?
Yes. I usually remove way more than needed to make it easier to see. This particular time I was installing new axles also.
I'm having the reverse issue. My diff is engaging without the switch being on. I ordered this to see if it'll help.
I'm not an expert on diffs for sure. This has worked great for me though since I put it in.
@@GrimRZR BTW, what did you do with the old connector from the switch? does it just stay behind the dash?
@@ericoliver6802 I think so but I can look once I get home.
Does this make 4 wheel drive engage whenever the switch is on? Or does it still work like oem and only engage when there is slippage?
The main difference is this sends power to the magnet when the switch is on. No matter what. It doesn't wait for you to be at a certain speed or wait the back tires to stop spinning. They say it also uses direct battery volts with no limitations
Notice a big difference after installation?
Definitely a difference but I also changed to a RS1 shortly after. I think it's a worth while install.
@@GrimRZR what did you notice after the install ? Did you have problems with your front diff kicking out ? Did 4x4 feel different engaged?
I can feel the steering get heavy. To come out I can hit the switch and let off the throttle for a sec and you can feel the steering get light again. Nice to know you control when it's in or out
@@GrimRZR good deal thank you. That makes sense
Informative content definitely going to buy one...but why have you wired your winch to the bus bar? Its at least a 200amp draw it should be direct to battery.
It's been working okay. The bus bar goes to the battery with a big fuse. Besides the fuse I don't see where it's that different
It's not 200 amps unless you have a 5000 pound winch, 200 amps requires huge wire
I have 2016 rzr 1000s and the 2nd harness that beside the one you hook into your Diff. Where does it goes?
I'm not sure which one you are talking about. Maybe get a picture. You could send through Facebook
I gotta 19 xpt4, pop in front end had diff apart replaced pinion bearing, put together still popping? 2& 4 wheel? Any input would be helpful
Almost sounds like it's not the diff if it's it does it in both. I can tell you that I haven't had the first problem since I went to a RS1 diff.
I was having problems with the 4WD now engaging so I ordered the Tru-Lock. Does the Tru-Lock bypass the ECU, allowing the 4WD to engage & disengage at any time? As we know, you can do damage if someone were to engage the 4WD if the front wheels are turning at a speed than the rear wheels. Am I just over thinking the whole situation? TIA
It definitely could do damage if you tried engaging while the rear tires are spinning. Its a good product but I'm not sure it's a fix for your problem. Probably need to figure that out also.
@@GrimRZR We will see if it fixes it. I have heard several people finding that they were not receiving the proper voltage to the diff from the stock switch and the Tru-Lock seemed to be a fix. We will see....
@@jpaulthepilot1 let us know if it fixes it. The more folks hear about it the better they can make a decision.
@@GrimRZR agreed
@@GrimRZR How would it do damage, I mean thats how it engages in the first place right? Soon as rear tires spin faster than the front the front diff will engage.
Not a deal breaker but do you know if their switch for the Tru loc is back lit?
You use the same switch you had.
@@GrimRZR their website stated i needed the switch for my RZR Highlifter. I don't know why its required on my model.?
I don't see that it states Turbo S. Will it work for that as well?
I think he offers another one for turbo S. My RS1 diff swap kit came with an adapter
A year later Johnny, was it worth it? Is it a must have?
I think it has helped keep my RS1 alive. I don't think it is the saving grace for a turbo diff though. I'm sure it helped but it just wasn't enough
@@GrimRZR I'm considering it. I have a spare built turbo diff now though for the 1K so not sure if I will need it after the swap. But gonna run the 1K diff until she grenades.
@@WhiskeyTangoFoxtrotOffRoad I definitely don't regret getting it. I can't say that my RS1 would have been exactly the same with or without it. Compared to the cost of other things I feel like it was worth it.
@@GrimRZR Awesome man, thanks for the chat. You gonna be at IM next weekend?
@@WhiskeyTangoFoxtrotOffRoad I wish. Got volleyball tournament then possibly Windrock the following weekend.
Did you lose the 4wd indicator on the dash with this kit?
I think so. What I look for now is if the switch light is on I know that it's in fwd. I don't think I looked at the dash before anyway
If you install a relay that switches the 12v to diff you can use the 12vishhh to activate relay and send the full 12v to diff and keep all factory limitations and indication on dash..still dummy proof.
Would i need to do this to a 2021 rzr turbo?
I was having front diff issues and this was one of the solutions. For me it's worth getting
That 2nd plug were did it go ?
One plugs into the switch. The other 2 go in line
@Grim RZR seen your ride at top trails.nice ride you got there man..
@@williamsimmons867 appreciate it. It's a constant battle keeping it running. Lol
So that's what you do when you drop your kids off at my house
Yes. I made this one a little while ago. Just waiting to post it.
Add some big honken meats & mis-matched tire sizes then some crazy bastard driving & yer gonna blow that up to.
Preach about tires, get rid of the oversize overweight, over- lugged made for pickup rock crawler tires. Problem solved.
Stuff just breaks sometimes
