    One of the best JetRanger vids on the tube I have to say. Well edited and good choice of angles. I knew that deep bass sound when fuel is first introduced reminded me of something... of course.. the flame that came out of the Bat Mobile as it left the cave!
    Finally... I have seen a few colour schemes over the years but being a fan of blue, that really hit the spot. Fantastic. Look forward to more of the same!

    I just plain love that ticking whenever gas turbine engines (jet engines too) start up initially before it hums and finally gets up to speed.

    MY DREAM HELICOPTER. I've always wanted one of these, despite they're from the late 1960s.

    Nice video. I was a mechanic on the Bell 206 B and L models for PHI in the late 70s. This brings back memories.

    I love the Bell 206B Jet Ranger II. Every now and then, even though I don't plan on flying, I still start it up and run it to take off rpm. Then I check controls, and I make sure everything is good and no oil has formed sludge. I have maintenance performed on it when necessary, but for real... the turbine turboshaft requires less maintenance than a standard automobile engine. The heavy maintenance for this machine is the belts and clutch for the transmission. When I got into helicopters and went for my license, They told me that the transmission has more belts than my mother has in her closets. They were right.
    I feel that, just like a parked car, you should start the motor and get everything circulating at least once a month to keep it safe and lubricated.

      Belts on a 206...Sure...How's your Robinson?

    • @NoahDiamond-Firearms-LLC
      @NoahDiamond-Firearms-LLC 9 років тому

      The 206 is in a time share. I like to say I own it, which is technically true at certain points in time. It's still expensive to run overall.
      The Robinson helicopters get a lot more use.
      The current day 206 really only has 4 belts. Two of them are drive belts that link the transmission to the rotors, and the other two are redundant belts. The Robinson has clutch belts, drive belts, reduction belts... I think that was done to absorb vibration, reduce weight and cut costs. Whatever the reason, they are easy to work with and are great workhorses.
      Paragon now has two helicopters for sale, both of which are Hughes 269 series helicopters.

    I really enjoyed this vid. Loved the multiple perspectives on one screen format. Yeah, the startup is one of the best engine startup sounds ever. As far as the batmobile in the 60's show, it's my understanding that the startup sound and sounds while it was driving were from the mid 60's Chrysler turbine car, which had a turboshaft type engine; not sure if it was an Allison or something else, but still sounded cool!

    Turbine music provided by the mighty Rolls Royce M250. My favorite helicopter is the Huey, but the Bell 206 is a VERY close second.

      +Vintage toys-melbourne australia-victoria Jet Ranger are beautiful flying machines. No doubt. Incredible.
      But to realize the dream of flying, we can initially choose beautiful flying machines with lower cost and still have high doses of adrenaline. So you will be trained enough to get the father of helicopters .... Jet ranger !!!!
      This machine I am telling you a little, have some models for sale.
      The benefits are many; with amazing low cost of maintenance, parts are more economical. Anyway ... they are excellent aircraft often used for learning.
      We have approved workshop, mechanic preparatory courses if you want the engineering and operation of its aircraft. Parts for sale prompt delivery.
      And more We have pilots school approved accommodation and complete infrastructure.
      If you want more information, please leave your email to our team will be at your disposal to serve you.
      Best regards
      Caroline

    Stupid question: (I'm not a pilot) with commercial and private aircraft, you have sn autopilot feature which allows you to set a course heading, altitude, and speed. Do any helicopters have that feature? And if not, is it because of the way a helicopter is operated that doesn't permit it?

    • @NickMurray
      @NickMurray  5 років тому

      Some very modern an large helicopter have it as standard and many older models can be upgraded to have autopilot but as it is more complex than a fixed wing it is very uncommon in a helicopter

      A lot of care and maintenance go into one of these gorgeous machines to keep it from flaming out. They are safe for the most part.
