Loved seeing you! You are doing something amazing for our Lord! I, too, see when I am angry or stressed. It's the best therapy in the world! May God bless you and watch over you both
Jenny and Ron are an inspiration to all of us. I can only imagine the joy they are bringing to another culture. Everyone will grow from the experience. God's hands are guiding and keeping watch over everyone. You are very much missed on this end😊
Hello, I also have handcrank sewing machines...I collect them and also piece quilt tops on them. A tip for you, with your presser foot up and the thread take up lever in the highest position/needle in the highest position, you'll be able to pull your thread easier to cut off. I'm looking forward to your continued adventures...Great job Ron!!! Your thread comes unthreaded because the take up lever is in a lower position and if it's in the highest position, it will not pull the thread out as easily...it's yanking the thread up and out of the needle when you start...
It's so good to see and hear you. You two are an inspiration. May the Lord continue to bless you as you serve. You will be blessed for what you're doing. Enjoyed your video. Looking forward to more. 🙏🙏🙏😇 Angels are watching over all of us keeping us safe. Thank you. Love and hugs.Praying for you.
So nice to see you both and wonderful to know that you are embracing the culture and your surroundings. All the more the appreciate the good things in life. You have each other and that is endearing. I’m on Day 3 of the box. O m goodness what a great gift. I love them and the little boxes are so cute. Rock on Jenny and Ron.
I love Ghana. I just returned home to Utah last Monday. I was able to teach my first sewing classes on the Berninas I have been taking there for the past several years. It was so fun! The seamstresses loved working on the machines and that they could make so many stitches with one machine. They did such a great job. I am teaching them quilting. We are starting out with just placemats and small items. I also went to the junior high and taught embroidery to two different classes. We had such a great time and the students and I were so proud of their work. You are right, patience is the key in Ghana. It has taken 10 years to build my community center, but it is now there and ready to be used. So exciting!
Brother & Sister Doan, Ron & Jenny, this was just what I needed tonight. I've been thinking about you and praying for you. YOU answered so many of my questions. I'm working on two projects, a Red,White & blue quilt for my son and Daughter in-law, and a Christmas wall hanging. I've learned so much from you, quilting with confidence and a seam ripper 😁. I'm excited for you embracing Ghana. Bless you. God be with you till we meet again 💖🙏🍀🌹🤟🦓Liz, Northern California.
You are "blooming where you are planted!" Thank you for sharing about life in Africa. That machine has a beautiful straight stitch, just like the Featherweights have. It's because it doesn't do any zig-zag stitches. As I'm sure you already know, when a machine is capable of zig zag, the straight stitches always have a very slight jig to one side at the bottom of the stitch. Wonderful machine to see how it sews. Glad you are doing so well and the story about the Butterball turkey and shopping is so funny. God bless you both.
I’m so proud of you to take time away from your family to follow God….and so pleased you have Ron to do this with…we do miss you, but enjoy each day and don’t wish the time away….❣️
Hey Jenny! I recently went to Pakistan and saw the ladies in a Bible study group sew with the hand crank machines. They sit on the floor to sew. I shared an easy cross body bag with them. God bless you and Ron!
It was so good to see and hear you both! Thank you for doing the work of the gospel and thank you for your willing service! May God continue to bless you always.
It was so wonderful to see your beautiful face & hear both you & Ron speak. What a wonderful adventure your mission is , & I know the Lord will continue to bless you as you strive to serve the people of Africa. I can't wait to see more!!
Jenny I miss you but I am Thankful that you are serving God. We are all still here and will be when you get back home. Gosh I am going to have to come see you. You are the reason I am a quilter. I didn't know how to cut fabrics, make blocks or square them up. I have watched every video you and the girls have made. Thank You for giving me a purpose to live. My baby son passed away at 22 years ago due to colon cancer. I have a reason to get up every morning. God Bless you and Ron, many prayers for you both.
So surprised to see you, Jenny, on today’s Tuesday Newsday. What a treat. Glad you’re doing so well in an unfamiliar place. May God be with you during your time away. I pray you can grow closer to Him and get to know Him in a deep, personal way.
It’s so good to see you Miss Jenny and Mr. Ron! Africa is sooo blessed to have you two spreading love and blessings. 😊 continued safety and blessings throughout your amazing journey. 🤗🤗
I bought a hand crank Singer years ago! The lady I got it from , received it from her Grandmother. Her Grandmother received it as a wedding gift in Scotland, then she moved to Australia. She then shipped it to California to her granddaughter, who I bought it from. It’s a fun machine. Be Blessed❤
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Love the fabric talk. Your expensive turkey, the hand cranked sewing g machine…. Fun information. God bless you both!
This was wonderful. Tuesday Newsday has not skipped a beat! Loved hearing about your adventures. Seriously- I just needed the Sassy rotary cutter. The Jenny Box is fabulous! ❤️❤️❤️ Enjoy your wonderful adventure! Have faith you will build an African quilting tribe!❤
I have travelled in my life too, just like you and Ron are currently doing. There is nothing like living in an area rather than just visiting, to give you a feel of the people and their customs. It makes you realise there is always another way to do something and sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse. This time away will be so valuable in your lives. Enjoy it and embrace the change.
You’re such a special person (as is Ron). I know this mission is important and fulfilling, yet I know it’s hard to turn your life upside down and ONLY serve others. You help others on a daily basis, but this is such a greater magnitude, isn’t it? Love your showing us the hand crank machine. So interesting! You’re getting thinner there!! Hope you all are eating okay and stay healthy! Much love!
You and Ron did a great Tuesday Newsday!! I’m always excited when you post on Instagram! It is so nice to follow you on your journey!! That was a hilarious story about the turkey!! Lol😂
Hi there, so good to see you healthy and happy. I have an old sewing machine like this, too, it's a SInger from 1895. I also have an old machine in a very nice table with four drawers, a German production from 1900. They both work very well, too. Stay strong and safe, many greetings, love ❤❤❤
So nice to see you Jenny & to hear Ron! LOL I have loved my Jenny Box so far this year. How wonderful that you are learning new ways to do things. May you & Ron be blessed in this season of giving!
This was a lovely visit. Thank you for sharing insights into what your mission experience has been like so far. It's clear you are loving it, and it's also good to hear the ways in which being away from home brings challenges--which you trust Heavenly Father to have your back for. That was a message that had relevance even for those of us not in the mission field. As C.S. Lewis said, "Have courage, dear heart", and know that your quilting companions are with you, wherever you are. xxx
What a beautiful video from Jenny and Ron. Very interesting to hear how things are going in Africa. Love the open attitude of embracing where God has placed you. Bringing in your traditions and experiencing the local. Thanks for sharing the funny turkey story, $$. Love you you two are just real. God bless you daily. In my prayers. ❤

So wonderful to see you! Thanks for my Jenny box…. Loving it so far! Loved my time in Africa and hearing about your experiences brings back great memories 💜
So excited when I started to watch Tuesday Newsday to see your face on the video! Loved hearing from you and about your life in Africa. I was so worried we wouldn’t be able to hear much from you while you were gone. It is such a relief that is not the case. Please keep them coming. It makes me so happy to see you and as a bonus we get to hear more from Ron. God bless and stay safe.
This has just been the best visit! Enjoying your adventures in Africa is quite exhilarating to say the least. Though I've only had one trip to a faraway land, I feel that the several times in my life that I moved to a different region of the US, it was exciting and adventuresome to experience the different "cultures" or regional customs. Although I didn't have to deal with different languages. Thank goodness. Although I did learn a few phrases while living in Alaska that were from the Kenaitze tribe and Russian influence on those peoples, so that was fun, too. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us. Through the wonder of UA-cam and the internet, it's like we can share your learning experiences. Take care and God's blessing to cover y'all with His grace, protection and love.
Good to see you, Jenny. Seeing that sewing machine brings back memories of my time in Africa. I never mastered the use of the handcrank, I managed to get an electric to sew. It is a matter of adjusting daily. All the best
Praise the Lord Jenny that you and Ron could go to Africa. I will be praying for you both! I pray that you will be able to reach others for the Lord. ❤
You answered my question from FaceBook! I'm so honored. And your answer was thoughtful and complete. You're the best Jenny! Love to Ron, too! Take care and be safe.
It's so great to see you smiling and happy. Can't see Ron, but his voice was happy and upbeat during the video. So happy things are going well for you both. Love learning about the area, culture, etc and what you are doing there.
