- I made my usual Costco run yesterday for some essentials, but went ahead and grabbed extra so that we can stay home more in the next few weeks to avoid spreading or catching germs. This is what I bought for our family of 7, and what I plan to do with the different food items.

Crazy that so many people are on here complaining....this is for a family of 7 while everyone is home all day. What has she done wrong?
Agreed. Also it's no one's place to judge. It's so annoying ugh.
@@lilyflores5207 Not even judging so much as showing that she is all of a sudden wiping out the shelves during a very critical time when others might truly need things and just want their fair share. Thank god the stores are starting to limit certain items cause fellow adult human being can't do this for themselves.
@@barbarahanson271 I know that there are people wiping out the shelves and taking more than they need, but I only took one of many items and two of others. I definitely didn't wipe anything out.

There is a basically a witch hunt on everyone that is buying a bit more.. It is crazy..

I haven't seen any one stock up on medication. You know most of our meds came from Asia. When the stores run out we're in trouble.
Imani Strong -I suggest stocking up on Tylenol and Advil, NyQuil and DayQuil, and any respiratory medications really. And of course anything else that might be need for you and your family.

If you like sparkling water you might want to invest in a soda stream. We've had ours for years and use it every day. Less waste and tastes great! Have a second one on our RV, again for less waste

Sauerkraut! I'm heading to Costco around April 1st. It'll be interesting. Just not leaving the house unless necessary. But my kitchen pipes decided to spring a leak so a necessary trio to home depot. Not fun.

Random but where do you find the best place to store your bag of potatoes to keep them from spoiling?
Place them in a paper bag in a dark pantry area. Happy eating!

Refrigerated be they last forever, just keep the absorber in there
We keep them in the fridge. They technically last a long time, but we will finish the bag in a few weeks. :-)
Another thing is now it a great time to buy staples and teach your kids how to make a meal from scratch, you have nothing but time on your hands, so teach them how to make a simple biscuit from scratch, rice and beans, or chili, the prepackaged food is fine in a pinch but once thats gone they should all know how to put a meal together from.
Barbara Hanson great idea. My kids are grown, but when I was going to nursing school I told them to fend for themselves. That was mean, but that’s how they learned how to cook.
We do this everyday! Most of the food I cook is from scratch. Those are the recipes I share on my blog. :-)

You can still leave the house to do grocery shopping! Hauling is NOT the answer!

People are doing their best to reduce their risk of exposure. I do larger grocery hauls than I typically would to avoid having to make unnecessary trips to the store.
I think these haul videos are causing people to panic.... This is what’s wrong... if we aLl stockpile there will be nothing left,,,
She has uploaded grocery hauls for over a year, as do other UA-cam 5+ family channels. We have to worry about 1 single person or 2 person families stocking up on TP for a year, they are the real issue out there

I understand the concept of prepping, but there are people who can’t afford to do this., including families on the breadline, the elderly...
A lot of people are simply trying to reduce their risk of exposure by trying to reduce trips out to the store.

In her case it's best to leave the house once instead of taking more chances and leaving several times. It keeps others safe, as well, to stay more self quarantined.

Barbara Hanson I agree it’s much better to prepare beforehand but for some people this isn’t an option. This isn’t an example of being self-absorbed it’s her preparing to feed her 7 children in case they can’t leave their home.
