I saw the movie yesterday and was mesmerized by the music. Indian classical music is so rich and powerful, I'd take that anyday over contemporary music.
I'm a 16 year old guy and I will surely get weird looks if I tell someone I enjoyed this entire playlist. Even though there's many poetic Urdu words I can't understand, I have my translator open for them. I love these songs that much. Idk why my generation continues to idolise people who sing about drugs, women and alcohol and promote degeneratism when there's such beautiful and meaningful songs being released. *We really must start appreciating such original and compelling music.*
Finally after so many years Bollywood has created a good album, I almost had given up on them, but artists like Amit Trivedi are keeping the industry alive, hopefully they keep creating such masterpieces !!! You give him any region, any time period, any sub-culture, any mood and he will make the most perfect music to fit the requirement! Being a Pakistani, I really missed listening to the Original music of Bollywood which was produced in the era of Mukesh, Udit, Sonu Nigam, etc. However, listening to these gems in this era which is ruined by the likes of Kakkars and Badshah is a truly nostalgic experience. But these song's lyrics, melody, harmony everything has the artistry and invokes emotion like a cool breeze on a summer dawn, prominent yet gentle. Everytime I listen to this album - that one line which is always stuck in my mind and i would play it multiple times is - " komal suron sa haule se aa kar chumunga main tera teekha guroor" - bwaaah , what a line , only swanand could write this !! Rubaiyaan- What a poetry !!

The whole album is amazing, it's like human expression in its purest form. It's hard to pick a single song as my favourite. But, if I have to it will be Rubaaiyaan. Especially the second stanza is written, composed and sung perfectly.
