I really like the choke lever up on the handle bars. Disc brakes front and back too. Ok folks, go look at the Yamaha TTR 230 for $5400... You get a mechanical drum brake on it, not to mention its still a 30 year old design with non-inverted forks, but hey, those "bold new graphics" aren't cheap.

Funny i was actually comparing this to a TTR bike
Does it have more torque than SSR 150cc thats what i own now. Im into the whole not how fast it goes but how fast it gets you there the pull
I haven't ridden the SSR 150cc bikes so I am not able to give you that answer at the moment. I would imagine that this bike has more HP and torque than the SSR 150 though. Come on over, lets ride and find out!

@@MotoCityTV I personally have owned mine since 2018 and it hasn't needed a rebuild which is crazy.
Only common flaw is the rear shock will blow the seals under any heavy use but other than that the engine is bulletproof.

At that price for a Kayo230 you can't go wrong bike sounds really good

I saw the top speed as 50 but... I'd still gear it down a tooth in the front sounds like it's lugging a bit in higher gears and it wasn't put to any test on any kind of a hilly/mountain area.. probably won't decrease top speed hardly at all because it will pull better.. make all the lower gears work better on trails, in the woods, up mountain trails etc.. Did that on an XT250, made a world of difference on tight trails, up hills... top speed up hills actually was better than stock..
A new carb will make the biggest difference. They come factory so restricted. I guarantee this bike is capable of 65-70
Why all the throttle blipping
Don't waste money on these bikes. Kayo, and other Chinese brands, offer next to no support when it comes to parts.
Its worth it to buy known good brands. may be a little more money, but the support for the known good brands is light years ahead of these Chinese bikes.
Needs a bigger front sprocket and small rear sprocket. I bet it would fly then.
Are Kayo's classified as motorcycles on their certificates of origin? Kayo needs a 450 with lights and blinkers.
We totally agree that Kayo needs to get into the 450 market. A Dual Sport like this www.ridekayo.com/t4-250 but with a 450cc motor would be amazing!
Would you say/recommend buying athe 230 for a wife bike? Street experience, would be first dirtbike.
Finally! Someone developed another trail and back road bike, basic and simple.

How's the aftermarket support for parts and regular maintenance?
Pretty good. The warehouse is in Texas and we get parts in three days or less.

I’ve been looking all over online trying to find places I can order parts or accessories and I can’t find anywhere. Is it something only dealers can get? Just got my 2022 kayo k2 230 less than 2 weeks ago and I’m loving it.

How does the power compare to a Honda CRF230?
I think the power of this K2 230 and a CRF230 is very comparable. Does not hold a candle to a 250, but the 230's back to back they feel very similar.
I had a CRF 230 just bought the kayo 230 I would say it is a tad bit more zippy
I have both. I agree the K2 is more peppy. Both are great trail bikes. The K2 will go anywhere the CRF230F goes. I bought it so my son and I can ride together.

I was going to to get a Kawasaki for $4700 but with fees it ended up being $7000 so this might be a better choice.
Just bought one today.. wow for a training/ trail bike , price!!! Worth it!! Good family fun!

Hi , so it’s been a year now , bike is excellent for a beginner, my kids have learned how to clutch, and ride we are newbys, the 230 is a perfect size to begin with, we have dropped it a many times, n it keeps going no problems but the battery failed, it was under warranty. That was nice, for the price of the bike . Can’t go wrong, I can’t wait to get the k4 250.
This is not a motor cross bike, but it is a fun trail bike and a good hill climber.. we love it
And it didn’t cost 10k . Lol
For the price it’s a good deal.

My son is 5'10 so I like the smaller frame for the novice, soon to be intermediate rider.
I am 5' 9" and this bike was SO FUN to toss around. Full size power (but very manageable) in a frame that felt nimble and undaunting.

The K2 is a 2 stroke and the T2 is a 4 stroke.

What makes the K2 different from the T2?
Well, to begin with the K2 costs $100 less, has a 1" taller seat height, a 2" shorter wheel base and 2.5" MORE ground clearance. The K2 holds 1 gallon less fuel and is 5 lbs. lighter in weight. The K2 is the "newer bike" and has a little better build than the T2 from what we have seen.
