- Hiya!!! today I bring you an old clip from IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad! I was flying a solo sortie hunting for prey when I crossed the path of what I thought was 2 LaGG-3's. I was wrong, it was 3! I should mention this is on a PvP server, those are players, not AI. Do I manage to survive????
I love this game, many hours spent with my old friends in those skies. If you like flight sims its a must try!

Yeah, possible for sure. Not sure what they were doing, likely newer and not on comms? Да, возможно, конечно. Не знаете, что они делали, вероятно, новее и не на связи?

1. Они новички
2. Они без связи, либо нет понимания тактической обстановки.
3. Они не умеют стрелять 😅

How are you so good at energy management? If I had tried all those maneuvers I’d be stalling and out of energy…
Its all about time spent in the aircraft. And I know this is gonna sound strange perhaps, but I fly by "feel". I dont look at my instruments very often while flying. I use engine sound ques. I have lots of time logged in the 109's so I just kinda know how tight I can turn to maintain as much energy as I can. And I use lots of vertical turns, not sure you noticed but when I bank I tend to bank nose up and drop into a turn, this banks more energy that I can spend by gaining some altitude to trade.
Thanks! When I try banking nose up to drop into a turn, the enemy seems to catch up to me and get the advantage. How do you avoid this?
Nice music choice, but try instrumental music only because of distraction. Sorry, Johnny. Decent fights.
this was possible only when you setup opponent to a ''rookie'' otherwise emil could not turn with lagg's, not to mention 3 of them

@@ChloeXelfaa yeah I've been playing flight sims since '99, IL-2 is exactly what I want as I prefer prop planes over jets. I got all the DLC and hope to get a friend group to play with.

Simple keys of 1x3 - Chase an upper plane, watch out in a middle, forgot a lower.

Hey! What graphics card are you using? Not only do the effects look nice but the overall head movement and transition from zoom ins and outs looks super smooth
That was on a GTX 3070 I think, if memory serves me right. Head tracking with the TrackIR, cheaper than VR and works great!
@@ChloeXelfaa I see you using only Pitch and Yaw Axis in TrackIR? Why you not using X and Y? Are you using OpenTrack too?
I do use them, but its set to smooth and the curve is low so it does not get wild on me. I have found those the best settings for me. I dont think I know what OpenTrack is, so imma say no I am not.

Which one server it was?
Finnish VirtualPilots - Dynamic War, Combat Box by Red Flight or WINGS of LIBERTY with 1CGS support were the servers I was playing at the time. I think it is the first one tho, but this was over a year ago, closer to two years probably.

@@jesseissorude Obviously a matter of the approach. When Il-2 original arrived 2002, eveyone wanted to play "full real", videos always were produced with music of the 1940s to gain high immersion (feeling of that time). Today kiddies are using it like a ego shooter and not like a simulation i. e. simulate the time feeling.
I think you both make good points. Times have changed, and so have the content creators. Honestly I didn't think anyone would watch this. I uploaded it for a friend who wanted to see me fly. I used to make War Thunder content and used a lot of the music of the time. I was looking for something that fit me and my feelings when making the video. Again, both have good points, its a game and the players are younger now. I am older, not gonna say how old, but def not a kiddo. I make what I like and just hope if someone stumbles on it they enjoy it too. I def tried to keep the music more mellow. Thank you for the feedback!

Also, what feeling of the 40s?? Why would there even be music at all if you were going for 100% immersion? Pilots weren't listening to music while flying their aircrafts, just engine noise and radio communications

I use TrackIR, its like a poor person's VR. its just infrared head tracking attached to my headset!
