  • My 1 year progress on the cyr wheel since I first started 2014.
    Thanks to:
    - my mom, dad, and brother for waiting and helping me practice
    - Sam Tribble for spending his time teaching me and motivating me to be better
    - Woodbridge Community Park for keeping the ground smooth and clean so I can spin
    - Surf City Gymnastics with Coach Neda and her cheering for letting me use the gym
    - 24 Hour Fitness for letting me use the studio with apologies for taking up the space and playing the same song over and over again
    - everyone else that I've forgotten to write about...oh yeah my friends of course ;)
    - and not to mention the beating I got from my wheel lol. Think I managed to tame it?
Don't mind the music. It was the only song long enough I had on iTunes to fit the video although it goes pretty well and I like it :)
*I do not own the music to this video. No copyright intended.

The confidence progress is what’s impressive. You go from an obvious nooby to looking graceful and like a performer. Keep it up.

I can't believe you achieved this much progress in a year, you are such an inspiration! I've wanted a wheel for yearssss, but I feel I'm too old and scared of falling now. And watching your falls was scary lol. Yet I am still inspired to be good enough to feel that sensation of soaring and being for wonderfully graceful. Thank you for sharing, I really hope you are still practicing!

I didn't even know it was called a Cyr Wheel until today, and I just had to come back to your video to comment. Many of the female performers I've watched this morning look amazingly graceful and fluid, but you move more like a male performer. You look STRONG. Something about the way you move, you take up space. You aren't the leaping fish in the river, you ARE the river.

Great example of progression and the presentation is clean. The movements are well defined. This will certainly help guide my skill development. Thank you for sharing.

    Love your attitude evolution!
    1. how you start looking a bit insecure and giggly
    2. and then goes to looking very determined and serious
    3. to completely mad and crazy fearless! crashing going again!
    4. And then you start doing little flares with hands and toes finding the dance in it.
    5. to completely start to think with a choreography mindset and flow 😍

Yet another video pushing me towards REALLY wanting to learn Cyr wheel. Not for performance reasons, just because it looks fun.

great progress, bravo, funny how you did first hard walzs and spins and then cartwheel and coin, as these last were much easyer to me, moreover your personal dancer touch to it makes it unique to you. Congrats

Thant's so talented! Does the wheel come apart for transportation? And, I can't work out how you don'e "run over" your own hands!

I want so badly to learn this apparatus, would you recommend for someone who would only be able to practice outside/in public?

Hey Erena! I am considering gettting a wheel but cannot figure out if i should get it 3 or 5 inches bigger than my height! I am 5'11" or 180 cm! Should i get a 74 (188cm) or a 76 (193cm)? Or somewhere in between? Thanks!

    • @erenayoshida622
      @erenayoshida622  5 років тому +2

Hi! I would go with 188. The reason is that the bigger the wheel, the harder it is to manipulate and perform advanced skills. On the other hand, even if a wheel is smaller than what is necessary for you, you will still be able to spin. For me, I started with a wheel a lot smaller before I bought my own. Good luck! Hope this helps :)

I started Cyr about 3weeks ago, and am addicted. But I'm curious, why do you wear shoes sometimes, and sometimes not? I understand why in the beginning tho, LOL!
