My aerial silk performance for a holiday party. I had never even run this routine before today. Choreographed it in my head and just winged it. Not too bad. Music: "Mary Did You Know" by Pentatonix *I do not own the music to this video. No copyright intended.

    I can't believe you achieved this much progress in a year, you are such an inspiration! I've wanted a wheel for yearssss, but I feel I'm too old and scared of falling now. And watching your falls was scary lol. Yet I am still inspired to be good enough to feel that sensation of soaring and being for wonderfully graceful. Thank you for sharing, I really hope you are still practicing!

    I didn't even know it was called a Cyr Wheel until today, and I just had to come back to your video to comment. Many of the female performers I've watched this morning look amazingly graceful and fluid, but you move more like a male performer. You look STRONG. Something about the way you move, you take up space. You aren't the leaping fish in the river, you ARE the river.

    Love your attitude evolution! 1. how you start looking a bit insecure and giggly 2. and then goes to looking very determined and serious 3. to completely mad and crazy fearless! crashing going again! 4. And then you start doing little flares with hands and toes finding the dance in it. 5. to completely start to think with a choreography mindset and flow 😍

    I started Cyr about 3weeks ago, and am addicted. But I'm curious, why do you wear shoes sometimes, and sometimes not? I understand why in the beginning tho, LOL!

    Hey Erena! I am considering gettting a wheel but cannot figure out if i should get it 3 or 5 inches bigger than my height! I am 5'11" or 180 cm! Should i get a 74 (188cm) or a 76 (193cm)? Or somewhere in between? Thanks!

    • @erenayoshida622
      @erenayoshida622 5 років тому

      Hi! I would go with 188. The reason is that the bigger the wheel, the harder it is to manipulate and perform advanced skills. On the other hand, even if a wheel is smaller than what is necessary for you, you will still be able to spin. For me, I started with a wheel a lot smaller before I bought my own. Good luck! Hope this helps :)

    great progress, bravo, funny how you did first hard walzs and spins and then cartwheel and coin, as these last were much easyer to me, moreover your personal dancer touch to it makes it unique to you. Congrats
