Really weird decisions on both sides... the horse archers could have been so much more effective... losing those steppe lancers for almost no reason was a tragedy, they could have pulled off the hammer-and-anvil rear charges that would have ended egypt... i think the scythian cav was miss used... the obv that wasn't the weirdest thing...
I once done a massive siege battle in Rome remastered and Rome 2. You inspired me and thank you so much. Now I have all the total war games including shogun 2, medieval 2, empire, napoleon, Rome 2, Rome remastered and total war atilla. Thank you bro.

I think we should see more of these pitched battles, cities and siege towers and catapults are cool and all, but there’s simply more tactics involved in a pitched battle. Eventually a siege, once the walls are done and everyone is in ultimately devolves into an attritional slog.

Tbh I think the Scythia player lacked the experience with nomad factions. He should have spread out his horse archers, attacked from multiple angles at once and cycle charged constantly. If he had done that and the Seleucid player had boxed up, they would have won much easier. Had the Parthians brought more cavalry to stall the Scythian horse archers while his infantry and Egypts attacked alongside each other and worked harder to protect their archers they would have won. Failing that, when the Scythians were out of ammo the Egyptian player should have boxed up.
@@scipioafricanus2212 You're right. But also the Seleucid player should of back off his archers once the Egypt player charged. The Egyptian player should be a lot more aggressive and cooperative with the Parthia and the Parthia was just all over the place. Luckily on his Elephant units was able to feed on stationary shock cav. Just so many mistakes. I know they are prolly new players but it's still fustrating to watch it happen lol

Love the battles Apollo and pitch makes a good change. But what happened to your campaigns? They were so good and I always really looked forward to them especially the rome Attila campaign
I have played about 500 hours of Total war rome 2, and like 1k hours in total war warhammer 2 and I personally do not build armies in campaign with any cav at all, never felt a need too, infantry with archers have always been king to me personally, well protected archers, with a firm frontline.
This looks like my first total war battle lmao. Except i lost. Just a tiny dot of people fighting. Sending troops that were routing back in into the small dot.

Anything could be a great weapon on the battlefield if used properly. They were used properly and at the right time in europe (after a terrible plague that weakened Europe) which helped them raid so far west

Yeah, it was such a waste seeing the glass cannon Scythian lancers used like that. They could have racked up lots of kills with flanking/hammer-anvil.
