She is still touring and making records. She's been around since the early 70's. She's rated like the best slide guitar player in America. Her voice is gorgeous. On this track and live, the piano is being played by Bruce;Hornsby.
People don't realize how successful Bonnie was with her first two albums. I was in college in the early 70s, and EVERY party I went to , Bonnie was always in the rotation. Esp. when women controlled the turntable. She got into a fight with her record company and disappeared for 5 years. Thank God she hung in there.
I am glad you picked this live performance to react to. It is my absolute favorite rendition of hers and beautifully supported by Bruce Hornsby on the piano.
Bonnie is 73. Out on tour now. Just won a Grammy for Just Like That. She has been around for decades. She is a Blues artist. She is amazing in concert. Have seen her many times!
I saw her perform this at a smaller venue and it was so quiet during this song you could hear a pin drop till the end. One of the most memorable concert experiences I have ever had.
It's the rare individual who can listen to this and not weep........and I have heard it hundreds of time and seen Bonnie live 6 times. She is a killer slide guitar player and no she is not country. This is a beautiful version but I highly recommend you listen to the rendition from Road Tested .....it's Bonnie with Bruce Hornsby on piano......she will rip your heart from your chest with the phrasing and a note that she sustains.......well you have to hear it.........
I don't know how old you are or how many of the famous blues guys that you know. But Bonnie Raitt started in her late teens early 20s singing Blues. Fantastic blues guitarist and she does a lot of old songs that were famous in the 20th and 30s you really need to extend your library of listening to Bonnie ray she's my favorite. Been listening to her music since 1970 and she did win a grammy in 2023. She still got it
She just won another 3 Grammys last year plus I think the year before this song was recorded in 1991 she won 7 or 8 Grammys that year with her album "The Nick Of Time", might have set a record.
The song was written by country songwriters Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin. Reid was previously an American football player before turning to music. It was recorded by Bonnie Raitt on her 11th album Luck of the Draw in 1991.
I think many/most people can relate to this song. How many of us have been in a situation with someone who likes you, enjoys your company, but doesn't love you even though you desperately love them. Ugh, hard song to listen to sometimes.
Hello Dereck, those simple words in the Lyrics, make me think about how painful it is,when you love someone, who doesn't love you,or doesn't love you anymore. And when i see you try to keep your composure,i cry too.Me couldn't do the kind of Job,you do in front of the camera.Bette Midler would be a very good choice for this Song.I love this Song.Thank you Dereck for your Reaction. You are Strong!💝💝💝💝💝🐬🐬
This is one of my all-time favorite songs. She's such a great singer/songwriter. The studio recording is fabulous. If I'm not mistaken, I believe she just won another Grammy in 2023. I'm new to your channel, so I will make a recommendation for something that you might already have done - Helplessly Hoping by Home Free. Absolutely perfect 5-part a capella harmony.
One of the most interesting things about this song is the songwriter Mike Reid. Reid was a standout defensive lineman for Penn State's football team, won multiple awards, finished 5th in the Heisman Trophy voting, and was named an All-American twice, which led to him being a top 10 pick in the NFL draft, defensive rookie of the year, and multiple time All-Pro player. He walked away after five years due to hand and knee injuries so he would still be able to pursue his career in music. Likely the only person who will ever be inducted in both the College Football and Songwriter's Halls of Fame.
She's a good guitar player too. I had the privileges of a attending a small after event where she played with a small group. Man that shit was loud, but I wanted to watch up close. I think I lost some hearing that night. Luck of the Draw and Nick of Time are hi on my list.
Maybe the wisest words you gave us: Bonnie is an angel disguised as a human being. There's no way to hear this song and not feel deep and heartbreaking things; Bonnie is also a healer - this song made me face some harsh facts about love that I was not ready to face. The power of the simple painful truth.
To answer your question, yes, Bonnie is still making music. In fact, she won the 2023 Grammy for Song of the Year for "Just Like That". Have been loving her music since 1971. I hope you will allow yourself the joy of her talent over these decades.
Bonnie's father was the Broadway star John Raitt, so dramatic singing style runs in the family. She's also one of the greatest living slide guitarists!
I just listened to a band on another channel react video called...Grandfunk Railroad. I thought you would really like it because it has alot of instrumental of electric guitar/ drums. Its from 1969. It's really good.
It was actually written by a former NFL player. True. He saw the guy that was arrested on t.v. and wrote it. He wrote other hits also. His name escapes me and I'm to lazy to look it up right now.😉

Saw her 3 months ago and she did this song and still made the whole theater cry
This song was released in 1990 - like 33 years ago. And it still stands the test of time. It's THAT iconic by the legendary Bonnie Raitt!
One of the saddest most heart wrenching songs I’ve ever heard. I cry every time. (Bruce Hornsby on the piano 👌🏼👌🏼)
Late comment here. Bruce Hornsby lets the piano dance around her voice. They never collide, just whisper to each other. Beautiful.
I so love him. Good looking, sweet and intelligent. Enjoy his reactions.
She won the Grammy for best song in 2023 “Just Like That.” Must listen.
People don't realize how successful Bonnie was with her first two albums. I was in college in the early 70s, and EVERY party I went to , Bonnie was always in the rotation. Bruce Hornsby doing his usual spectacular job on piano.
A TRUE TALENT! Ms. Raitt once again doesn't disappoint! She is a CLASS-ACT!
This is an amazingly heartfelt, emotional, melancholy song. It grabs you within the first few piano notes. Then the vocals start…..game over.
Absolutely iconic song by her. Beautiful. Powerful
Also an Amazing reaction. Powerful. Beautiful. phenomenal..
I am glad you picked this live performance to react to. It is my absolute favorite rendition of hers and beautifully supported by Bruce Hornsby on the piano.

Saw her last year and she performed this. As good as ever.
Goosebumps and tears... every time I hear this song. LJ
(Also listen to Bonnie Raitt - Nick Of Time )
you're young! glad you can appreciate Bonnie, my fave for 50 years. Blues lives!
This is one of my favorites by her . Beautiful in a slow sad way with piano by Bruce Hornsby .
Was blessed to she her perform with her Dad at an amphitheater in Atlanta. I love her.
This song makes me cry. The hurt & pain of loving someone but they don't love you. She's giving up the fight. Wow!!!
Bonnie has been my favorite female vocalist sine 1974. Had to tune in. Thank you for showcasing her.

Makes perfect sense an experience we all have had once in our lives…truth in music can heal you 🩷
Seen her 3 times in concert. The first , back in the 70's after the release of her second album. Incredible voice and slide guitarist.
She is still doing it and won 3 Grammys this year including Song of the Year.
Her voice, and that piano! Perfection! 🥰

Yes, she’s still doing it and she sounds just as good as she did 40 years ago ❤❤️
We’ve all been there. Bonnie Raitt has been a true artist since the early 70s.
She just won another 3 Grammys last year plus I think the year before this song was recorded in 1991 she won 7 or 8 Grammys that year with her album "The Nick Of Time", might have set a record.
Bonnie Raitt is a kick-ass guitarist too!
I’ve always said she was underestimated. Just amazing chops! Blues guitarist and singer- wow 🤩
The song was written by country songwriters Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin. Reid was previously an American football player before turning to music. It was recorded by Bonnie Raitt on her 11th album Luck of the Draw in 1991.
It took me a long time to learn to play this song because it was just so emotional, her voice reverberating in my head would just make me stop.
She shut out some of today's biggest talents at the Grammy's, winning Song of the Year.
I first heard this at the age of 15 on a long distance road trip with my family. Time stopped for me. This is a song fort the ages.
Bruce Hornsby accompanied Bonnie on the piano. Beautifully tragic song.
I think many/most people can relate to this song. How many of us have been in a situation with someone who likes you, enjoys your company, but doesn't love you even though you desperately love them. Ugh, hard song to listen to sometimes.
Yes she's still out there!

I love this song so much! It always makes me cry.
Such a beautiful song....

Or MAYBE just watch the original first??
She’s a great guitarist as well, so talented
That's Bruce Hornsby on piano.
My fav Bonnie song was "love letter" 🔥❤️👍👍🙌💃💃🥳
Perfect song
Whenever I recommend a song, it is always this good❤😮
A genuine reaction... Bless your heart, Dereck..
I heard my daddy say this was his favorite song when I was like 8 years old and ever since then, it’s been mine too. It’s a perfect song.

I hope your okay derek! Exactly stay strong! It get easier ❤
She was touring a few years ago and she still has it. Was a great evening
So émotionnal ❤️
It's a very short list, people on Rolling Stone's top 100 guitarists AND top 100 vocalists. Bonnie is on that list.
She's a good guitar player too. I had the privileges of a attending a small after event where she played with a small group. Man that shit was loud, but I wanted to watch up close. I think I lost some hearing that night. Luck of the Draw and Nick of Time are hi on my list.
Hall of Fame baby😊😊😊
God bless Brother.❤️🤘🏻

Do these people ever do any research before they look at an artist ? Yes she is still performing !
this is such a beautiful sad song by bonnie raitte you should hear her other songs give them something to talk about and love sneaking up on you
THis performance is live at the Grammy Awards which she won that year
You need to hear Just Like That next....it will rip your heart out. 😢
"Raitt" like "bate". Prince called this "Bonnie's masterpiece". 😎
Bonnie's father was the Broadway star John Raitt, so dramatic singing style runs in the family.
She's also one of the greatest living slide guitarists!
It's pronounced "Rate". She's awesome!!!
Adele and George Michael did brilliant covers of this too

George Michael does a great cover of this song as well. Big hug to Dereck, stay strong.
Dereck, if you like this one then you should take a look at "Get Here" by Oleta Adams or "Water From the Moon" by Celine Dion.
George Michael did a cover of this song. Pure gem.
Listen to My First Night Alone Without You and My Opening Farewell.
Dereck, please react to "Johnny Hallyday "Le Coeur En Deux" (1977) TOP Audio HQ!", it's a incredible song !
React to her doing "Feels Like Home"
Check out her. Just in the nick of time
If you want to hear some more good songs, check out... "Please come to Boston" by Dave Loggins and "Dannys song" by Kenny Loggins.
I absolutely love this song, but no one can sing it like George Michael did.
Unknown in France. A very nice voice but not alone like that. Still fine 🙂
She and Bette milder sound very familiar x
Bonnie Raitt is a blues singer and guitarist, also R & B not country,.
