after all of the mech videos ive saw i found this the best in youtube! love it man love it! mixxing every mech game i know into the video that makes it cool! awsome job man!
Interesting and creative video you have made; well done. Anyone not familiar with BattleTech may watch this video and have a general understanding of the storyline.
Holy crap this is so well done. We need to organize a full length (or at least pilot episode long) Mech movie. I'm sure theres more then enough talent floating around to make it look great.
Thanks for posting this atpcw! I created this almost 3 years ago. About 95% of the sounds in this video were redone from an existing library. I'm still creating videos but nothing of this nature anymore. Thanks for the compliments guys and yes, after looking back it could use some minor touching up :)
What a great game. I played Battletech when it was here in my city. The real only video game that had you using every part of your body eyes, hands & feet for torso. Unbeleivable! I miss that game.
Do not get me wrong, I absolutely love this video of yours, atpcw, however the only thing in it that makes me wince, is at 1:15, where you show the still image of the Timber Wolf, and in the frame, show a Timber Wolf (from MechCommander) swiveling its torso around. To me, I personally would have left out the still image of the Timber Wolf when you said "The Clans" and used that message/text on the Timber Wolf at 1:16 or 1:17 swiveling around to lock the Raven. That would have made it even more epic, this video. But again, I do absolutely love your video, I just thought, if you do not mind at al, that I would put in a recommendation of how it could have been just that tiny bit better, since the swiveling Timber Wolf is a lot more threatening when you add the message/text beneath it: (they called themselves...) "The Clans".
Gives me goosbump every single time ouf, especially at 0:54 when the clan is introduced (not to mention at 1:08 just imagine behing an infantrymen and that Mad cat stare right at you)
@Gallowell May be the only exageration in gundam animes are the fast extremity moves; anyway, in gundam, physics is closer as you think, the minovski reactor use the same principles of the nuclear fusion (added the minovsky particle) and the AMBAC system operates according the law of conservation of the angular momentum (as a little example), which explains too why the mobile suits have extremity. which is the justification of the batlemech arms and legs?
@Varrenify I have read the books. I'm saying that particular convention is....unlikely. As in, an excuse to have mech battles. Also, you'll note the ranges on weapons, even the aerofighters weapons ranges tend to be in the 1 to 2 kilometer range, when most of the weapons our aircraft use now, especially against ground targets, are capable of being fired accurately from dozens of miles away. I.E. way outside the range of a mech's weapons.
this is the best battletech video i´ve seen hope to see more of them. I can watch this over and over and over again. Do you think they will make an actual movie off battletech som day SSSOOOOOOONNNN!!!!
there is one thing that I did see wrong, the Comstar, after finding out the true goal of the clans, were the ones who started the bid and proxy war for Terra, Comstar using maintained Star league era mechs. Good video though dude, just that slight over site in the battle of Tukayyid, a lovely farm world in the Free Rasalhague Republic.
They are currently making mechwarrior 5, someone posted this somewhat on another mech tribute, I have two that says tributes in my playlist with this one, so should be easy for ya.
it's streaming video..so if it's pausing like that for you.. start it and hit pause... and let it queue up more ahead of it for a min or two.. then hit play and watch it thru. I am not seeing this myself with this clip.. so it's prolly you or the connection involved.
Quality over quantity buddy. As for your blunt reference to the fine line between fantasy and reality, Battletech always strived to adhere to the laws of physics as much as a mech based universe would allow, given the current technology level of course. In my experience with Gundam (08th MS Team, Gundam Seed Destiny, Char's Counterattack), the same cannot be said, with possible exception for the MS Team.
Nice to relive such memories, even though I have since hung up my neural helmet and put my Crab (aka Sakuya's Ice) into mothballs. This Capellan can retire happily.
@gribae Um... because MechCommander and MechWarrior 3 took place on different planets. Same operation, different theaters of battle. MechCommander was the sledgehammer that dealt a severe blow to Clan Smoke Jaguar on Port Arthur. MechWarrior 3 was the scalpel operation that succeeded in assassinating Galaxy Commander Brendan Corbett before he could regroup his forces on Tranquility.
@Ninspec Wardens might be more tolerant of their freeborns, but not by much. You would still get a pretty hard draw when it comes to free will. Anyway, while I don't necessarily agree on the Combine or Fed Suns, I do have a leaning toward the FRR, if I ever thought about changing House allegiance (in another life)
@LordBicen I bow to your superior knowledge of Battletech lore (it's been ages since I read the materials, but I still like to pull out a copy of Mechwarrior 4 and blow away Inner Sphere mechs). :)
i love this vid. The universe is alot more complex too. Ive read the blood of kerenskey series and am in the middle of reading the twilight of the clams series which is where this vid ends
@RyokenMK Maybe, its the same reason as why we still use conventional military structures such as infantries and tanks instead of outright bombing using planes and naval ships. The objective is to control a system, not outright destroy it because in the end if everything is just destroyed you would have won nothing. I don't know but this could be a reason why...
I miss when the Clans won all the battles in the battletech universe. There was nothing more fun than taking a star of near unstoppable omni-mechs against the pitiful mechs and vehicles of the inner sphere.
I always loved how so many people say that they are on the side of the Clans, that their loyalty is to a certain Clan etc when the reality of it is that Warden or Crusader, you ARE just a freebirth yourself and probably wouldn't last very long in any Clan. House Liao forever.
Ok let me put this in perspective the red thor you see from mechwarrior 3 is a 70 ton killing machine that stands about 35 feet tall and mounts lots of missle usually a large auto cannon, and Particle projection cannon and some support lasers it is a Weapons platform that can operate in zero g and fly in short bursts when on the ground provided the pilot would hit the gundam the gundam would be incinerated bu any which weapon mounted on any mech(EXCEPT BATTLE ARMOUR)
FASA don't really exist anymore, as a company. They still have IP rights to some things, though. The group making the Mech reboot is Smith & Tinker, which is owned by the founder of FASA. Harmony Gold are the ones who are trying to stop them, because some of the old 'Mech designs look quite similar to some of the mecha from the Macross series.
@D313370r if a battletech fight with a 1st generation mobile suit (as a saku 1) may have a chance; but a saku ll, Dom, kampfer, etc etc etc can destroy easily any battlemech (gundanium can resist rounds of 200mm and a atmospheric reentry), also, a suit's mobility is much higher, and their weapons are realy powerfull (200mm machine guns, beam sabers of +7500ºC and beam cannons +12000kW), mobile suits are very complex, but much more lethals (Gundams are realy weapons of mass destruction)
MW4: Mercs is still standing strong! Mechwarrior the board game is making another expansion! And theres the movie to look forward to!!! The director of the movie made The Patriot, Independence Day, Godzilla (New one that didn't suck) and a few other cool movies.
Even I, a Steiner-turned-Davion-loyalist, can only congratulate the Chancellor for rebuilding his realm while I and billions of others where trying to end the FedCom Civil War. If it had only been Katherine under my custom-made Daishi "Königstiger"...
@NatsumaruSama Artificial Muscles. Legs are needed to maintain a stable combat platform. The arms are mearly extra weapon holders. No more no less. I've never dived truely deep into BattleTech implements really, besides the weapons, which are far more plausible. Extreme speed may get your somewhere, but, ya know, I never liked the ignorance of gravity on some occasions...
They had this copyright troubles already 20 years ago when I bought my first Battletech board game. I wonder why this is still going on and on. The dispute should have been settled by now either this or the other way.
Thank you for making it. A great video. I show this one to people first when trying to explain what BT is all about, then the intro to MW3...
im a huge fan of the mechwarrior universe and i've gotta say that was the BEST out together of mech action i've seen on all of youtube! incredible!
after all of the mech videos ive saw i found this the best in youtube! love it man love it! mixxing every mech game i know into the video that makes it cool! awsome job man!
Interesting and creative video you have made; well done. Anyone not familiar with BattleTech may watch this video and have a general understanding of the storyline.
i love how this is the most clearly thought out and well researched debate on youtube for this video xD
Holy crap this is so well done. We need to organize a full length (or at least pilot episode long) Mech movie. I'm sure theres more then enough talent floating around to make it look great.
Sublime Vid.
Great music choice and neat cutting!
BT FTW!
Favorited!
The first vid I put into my favs here on UA-cam, and I still love to watch it!
Thanks for posting this atpcw! I created this almost 3 years ago. About 95% of the sounds in this video were redone from an existing library. I'm still creating videos but nothing of this nature anymore.

this was actually the FIRST VIDEO I SAW ON UA-cam, brings back memories, cuz it wa such a awesome vid
This was truly one kickass game series and this is one kickass video. It's the first one I ever favorited. 5/5 stars!
Kudos! Great editing, especially the sounds!
Very nicely done video. Good work mate.
Now THAT was well done. You did FASA proud right there, my friend.
Awesome, i really like the mechcommander and MW2 clips ! Reminds me the days of old.
The song in question is 'Roll Tide' by Hans Zimmer from the 'Crimson Tide' soundtrack.
No Wolf or any inner sphere freebirth will stop us for we are Jade Falcon! Great vid, abtakha.
Very nice video, nice historical compilation.
Long Live the Inner Sphere :)

*****
I figured that out too.
Smart job though.
Gives me goosbump every single time ouf, especially at 0:54 when the clan is introduced (not to mention at 1:08 just imagine behing an infantrymen and that Mad cat stare right at you)
The skill of the pilot is important yes, but so is the Skill of the Commander.
Mech Commander 1 and its expansion proved that.
ahhhh...the good old days...Vulture is my favourite Mech...
Thank you very much
@Gallowell May be the only exageration in gundam animes are the fast extremity moves; anyway, in gundam, physics is closer as you think, the minovski reactor use the same principles of the nuclear fusion (added the minovsky particle) and the AMBAC system operates according the law of conservation of the angular momentum (as a little example), which explains too why the mobile suits have extremity.
which is the justification of the batlemech arms and legs?
these games shall be teh missed :( i played mechwarrior games, AND THIS IS STILL MY MOST MEMORABLE VID ON UTUB
@SulliMike241
The first two you asked are from MechCommander.
Anyone know where I can obtain the sound effects from this vid?
It's from the movie Crimson Tide.
Well, it did explain how some of the houses started fighting back against the Clans.
@Varrenify I have read the books. I'm saying that particular convention is....unlikely. As in, an excuse to have mech battles. As i remember from crescent hawks inception it was the hawk-LAM(i think) that had the ability to "transform" NOT the Wasp(WSP-1A)
this is the best battletech video i´ve seen hope to see more of them.

How is the Music called? Thx!
It is by Hans Zimmer, and is the theme to the movie 'Crimson Tide" (1993. Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington).
MW3 was the peak of the MW series. Which is sad, because MW has so much potential.
awesome vid!
This Video is from the Game: Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries. I believe it was the ending Video of the Game
Excellent vid.
I wonder if anyone noticed that the Mech 4 intro shots had mechs with Davion's insignia pasted on the legs? Made me laugh a little
Great video and choice of music. Is there a higher resolution available?
@ichman the battle of Tukayyid, where the Clans lost and halted was led by Comstar not by Victor
it's streaming video..so if it's pausing like that for you.. start it and hit pause... and let it queue up more ahead of it for a min or two.. then hit play and watch it thru. I am not seeing this myself with this clip.. so it's prolly you or the connection involved.

Damn right gridae, Legend of the Jade Phoenix lives on !! Jade Falcon rule
thank you
great job
@gribae
Did´nt Transformers come after "Gobots"?
@gribae Um... because MechCommander and MechWarrior 3 took place on different planets.
Same operation, different theaters of battle. MechCommander was the sledgehammer that dealt a severe blow to Clan Smoke Jaguar on Port Arthur. MechWarrior 3 was the scalpel operation that succeeded in assassinating Galaxy Commander Brendan Corbett before he could regroup his forces on Tranquility.
love it!!
Counter Example:
Front Mission.
a Japan made game that uses mecha that look like stuff from Battletech.
GREAT!!
what is the song that is playing in the background
@harkeill *Double post* Most Warden Clans are pretty tolerant of Freebriths, Wolf in Exile particular, followed by Ghost Bear.

I don't know but this could be a reason why...
fucking finally found it on YT!
thanks for uploading it bro!
Regrettably not, IMO. But still, one of the best Battletech AMVs ever made. Very, very good.
I miss when the Clans won all the battles in the battletech universe. There was nothing more fun than taking a star of near unstoppable omni-mechs against the pitiful mechs and vehicles of the inner sphere.

House Liao forever.
I cant remember what the song is and where it is from, i've been trying to find the name for the past year and it's eluded me.
great vid, go on :)
Well, it'd at least be freaking awesome, and I'd watch it for sure.
The music is from Crimson Tide ????
Ok let me put this in perspective the red thor you see from mechwarrior 3 is a 70 ton killing machine that stands about 35 feet tall and mounts lots of missle usually a large auto cannon, and Particle projection cannon and some support lasers it is a Weapons platform that can operate in zero g and fly in short bursts when on the ground provided the pilot would hit the gundam the gundam would be incinerated bu any which weapon mounted on any mech(EXCEPT BATTLE ARMOUR)

I agree, battletech rules!
Where do the clips at 0:27, 0:54, and 1:10 come from?
This was OUT-(BEEEP)IN´-STANDING!!!
From the `Mechs down to Hans Zimmer´s masterpiece.
Very nice clip.
Music fits (but Hans written with an "s").
Missed the Mechwarrior2 intro (Timberwolf against Nemesis)
People are arguing over mechwarrior's copyright problems and at the top of this video it says invalid arguments highlighted in red. Strange...
haha this is a cool video love it haha
i cant seem to find the background music anywhere if u could plz send it to me =D
From what game is the sequence at 0:22 ?
That would be EPIC Battletech mechs are so Real Types but real types that take savage beatings unlike say mobile suits.
it's smith@tinker and piranha studios
@D313370r if a battletech fight with a 1st generation mobile suit (as a saku 1) may have a chance; but a saku ll, Dom, kampfer, etc etc etc can destroy easily any battlemech (gundanium can resist rounds of 200mm and a atmospheric reentry), also, a suit's mobility is much higher, and their weapons are realy powerfull (200mm machine guns, beam sabers of +7500ºC and beam cannons +12000kW), mobile suits are very complex, but much more lethals (Gundams are realy weapons of mass destruction)
What music is this?
Crimson Tide theme, it's a good one too! :3
i went to the san ntonio com con on friday and they had these there it was version 5.6 and i playd as loki
Hatamoto-chi was my favorite mech. Long live the Draconis Combine!!!
@sirsammy33 If you refering to the miniatures game it's still around...
For the legacy of the Ghost Bear!
*powers his Stone Rhino*
When does the Mechwarrior reboot take place on this timeline?
MW4: Mercs is still standing strong! Mechwarrior the board game is making another expansion! And theres the movie to look forward to!!! The director of the movie made The Patriot, Independence Day, Godzilla (New one that didn't suck) and a few other cool movies.

Yes, because we all know the Strike Freedom is incredibly realistic.
The Clanners may have had better weapons, but the Inner Sphere ruled in terms of the ability to learn and tactics.
@atpcw How do I download this vid?
Before you get hammered by some bullshit law and it´s lost forever?
battletech rawkz! wads u guys' fav mech?
mine's daishi
ahh...found it. it's from the mechcommander ending cutscene.
@Tigerhawk71 well if I saw a completely different company saying that battletech owned the warhammer... I see where harmony gold is going with this.
ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who does´nt???
