Gives me goosbump every single time ouf, especially at 0:54 when the clan is introduced (not to mention at 1:08 just imagine behing an infantrymen and that Mad cat stare right at you)
Do not get me wrong, I absolutely love this video of yours, atpcw, however the only thing in it that makes me wince, is at 1:15, where you show the still image of the Timber Wolf, and in the frame, show a Timber Wolf (from MechCommander) swiveling its torso around. To me, I personally would have left out the still image of the Timber Wolf when you said "The Clans" and used that message/text on the Timber Wolf at 1:16 or 1:17 swiveling around to lock the Raven. That would have made it even more epic, this video. But again, I do absolutely love your video, I just thought, if you do not mind at al, that I would put in a recommendation of how it could have been just that tiny bit better, since the swiveling Timber Wolf is a lot more threatening when you add the message/text beneath it: (they called themselves...) "The Clans".
there is one thing that I did see wrong, the Comstar, after finding out the true goal of the clans, were the ones who started the bid and proxy war for Terra, Comstar using maintained Star league era mechs. Good video though dude, just that slight over site in the battle of Tukayyid, a lovely farm world in the Free Rasalhague Republic.
Even I, a Steiner-turned-Davion-loyalist, can only congratulate the Chancellor for rebuilding his realm while I and billions of others where trying to end the FedCom Civil War. If it had only been Katherine under my custom-made Daishi "Königstiger"...
Indeed, my thought is that if you are going to call a 'Mech by its name, then call it by its rightful original name. Besides, the Clan names sound so much better than that of the Inner Sphere equivalent.
Nice to relive such memories, even though I have since hung up my neural helmet and put my Crab (aka Sakuya's Ice) into mothballs. This Capellan can retire happily.
@Ninspec Wardens might be more tolerant of their freeborns, but not by much. You would still get a pretty hard draw when it comes to free will. Anyway, while I don't necessarily agree on the Combine or Fed Suns, I do have a leaning toward the FRR, if I ever thought about changing House allegiance (in another life)
I always loved how so many people say that they are on the side of the Clans, that their loyalty is to a certain Clan etc when the reality of it is that Warden or Crusader, you ARE just a freebirth yourself and probably wouldn't last very long in any Clan. House Liao forever.
@LordBicen I bow to your superior knowledge of Battletech lore (it's been ages since I read the materials, but I still like to pull out a copy of Mechwarrior 4 and blow away Inner Sphere mechs). :)
@millenniumf1138 Wardens dont typically fight Wardens. They tend to be on the same side, guy. When the clans invaded, 6 clans won the right to enter the inner sphere 3 wardens 3 crusaders: Clan Wolf, Clan Jade Falcon, Clan Ghost Bear, Clan Smoke Jaguar, Clan Steel Viper, and Clan Nova Cat. the wolves were, till the Jade Wolves Split... Look it up. when they Split, the remnants of clan wolf were harbored by Captured Pilot and former prisoner Phaelan(sp) Kell and his Kell Hounds Brigade. PROVEN!
@harkeill I perfer to play Claners myself, but that is the truth. They didn't "cheat" they took advantage of the situation just like ALL of human history of warfare. The Crusaders and "true to His vision" clans just couldn't accept it.
@josh52345 the Inner Sphere did not 'cheat' anyone. It was the fault of the Clans that they failed merely because they lost touch with human history of warfare and choose to abide by 'honour' above all else. They underestimated the IS. Nothing more.
@orkkilla5589 It's not that simple - at the time the creators of the designs in question had approved of it and all was well. But since then, Harmony has obtained the rights to the IP. They don't approve. That's where the problem lies. It's not as simple as copying and hoping they wouldn't notice. They originally had approval.
after all of the mech videos ive saw i found this the best in youtube! love it man love it! mixxing every mech game i know into the video that makes it cool! awsome job man!
@RyokenMK Maybe, its the same reason as why we still use conventional military structures such as infantries and tanks instead of outright bombing using planes and naval ships. The objective is to control a system, not outright destroy it because in the end if everything is just destroyed you would have won nothing. I don't know but this could be a reason why...
@Varrenify I have read the books. I'm saying that particular convention is....unlikely. As in, an excuse to have mech battles. Also, you'll note the ranges on weapons, even the aerofighters weapons ranges tend to be in the 1 to 2 kilometer range, when most of the weapons our aircraft use now, especially against ground targets, are capable of being fired accurately from dozens of miles away. I.E. way outside the range of a mech's weapons.
@Gallowell Even if you look at battletech fiction, writers have to bend over backwards to come up with reasons why mechs are a reasonable choice for weapons, and they constantly cover up any problems that occur. With the technology that they possess, why is ground warfare even considered important? If you have ftl and warships (hell, if you have mastered intra-system flight), who would bother with landing troops? A simple "Surrender or we'll blast you from orbit" should do fine.
Switching to enhanced imaging! ☺

***** I figured that out too. Smart job though.
How is the Music called? Thx!
It is by Hans Zimmer, and is the theme to the movie 'Crimson Tide" (1993. Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington).
Mechwarrior for the win
Quick someone re do this with Game of thrones theme!
Have you read the novels? Some are like GoT with giant robots, particularly anything set during the Succession Wars.
***** No kidding when I first saw Game of thrones... I thought... All this was lacking was Mechs...
Don't ya mean the remnants of the Free Rasalhague republic?
Rasalhague Dominion now....
I know. The Ghostbears managed to get them into unifying with them...

ahh...found it. it's from the mechcommander ending cutscene.
I would say Mech Assault bin im not 100% sure.
From what game is the sequence at 0:22 ?
for the Robinson Rangers
Even I, a Steiner-turned-Davion-loyalist, can only congratulate the Chancellor for rebuilding his realm while I and billions of others where trying to end the FedCom Civil War. If it had only been Katherine under my custom-made Daishi "Königstiger"...
fucking finally found it on YT! thanks for uploading it bro!
Glory to House Liao and the Chancellor!
Indeed, my thought is that if you are going to call a 'Mech by its name, then call it by its rightful original name. Besides, the Clan names sound so much better than that of the Inner Sphere equivalent.
Maybe i'm not the only one who prefers to call Mechs with their own clan name.. :)
ahhhh...the good old days...Vulture is my favourite Mech...
Nice to relive such memories, even though I have since hung up my neural helmet and put my Crab (aka Sakuya's Ice) into mothballs. This Capellan can retire happily.
Clan Blood Spirit all the way!
Death to the clans!
Anyone know where I can obtain the sound effects from this vid?
Hans Zimmer - Crimsom Tide theme i think

@harkeill *Double post* Most Warden Clans are pretty tolerant of Freebriths, Wolf in Exile particular, followed by Ghost Bear.
@harkeill Part of me agrees, but thats what Role Playing is for. Yes I prefer Warden Clans, if not, Fed Suns, DC, or FRR.
I always loved how so many people say that they are on the side of the Clans, that their loyalty is to a certain Clan etc when the reality of it is that Warden or Crusader, you ARE just a freebirth yourself and probably wouldn't last very long in any Clan. House Liao forever.
what is the song that is playing in the background
i love how this is the most clearly thought out and well researched debate on youtube for this video xD

@LordBicen Pitiful fool. Clan Wolf is the strongest of the clans, and I challenge anyone on the field of honor to prove otherwise!
For the Honor, and the Glory! of Clan Ghost Bear! Now it's time to go Stomp some Freebirth Smoke Jaguars! Qui'Af?

the inner sphere won because they cheated the clans. The clans would have never done what they did during the battle for the truce.
@corwinph shit. typo, sorry about that.
the songg is king kong by voom

@Tigerhawk71 well if I saw a completely different company saying that battletech owned the warhammer... I see where harmony gold is going with this.
@sirsammy33 I miss my Warhammer.
@SulliMike241 The first two you asked are from MechCommander.
