I've lost all respect since they dressed Eric and Tommy as the Peter and Ace. And to make matters worse, Paul called the band PISS if the original members were to reunite. Paul would never have gone this far without the original band.

Seeing the final show end with the reveal of the avatar thing made me feel like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" after spending all that time decoding Little Orphan Annie's secret message ... a crummy commercial?!?!?!?!? The entire weekend was this big build up of hype ... for nothing! There was no sense of sentimentality or gratitude on the part of the band members (then again, no one gets to speak onstage except for Paul, so that might be presumptuous on my part); what was even the point of bothering to finish up in NYC? I never imagined them bringing out any past members to perform (or even take a bow, for that matter), but they could have at least acknowledged them verbally or on the video screens. And on top of all that, they're not even going to give people a chance to miss them for even a little while! They're barely off the stage and this avatar thing pops up IMMEDIATELY! I felt just as deflated as poor Ralphie did when he figured out Annie had no intention of letting him into the Secret Circle at all ... she just wanted him to buy some more Ovaltine. "Son of a ... "

I’m a lifelong KISS fan. That said while last nights show was a spectacle, it was clear to me that the time has long come to end the live shows. I don’t need to see avatars. I want to remember KISS as a great band that had a great run. It’s time to move on and allow their legacy to remain intact.

Why not have KISS continue in the form of avatars? We still have memories of their legacy and we still have KISS live footage from the 70s that we can always go back and watch like on the Kissology Volume One DVD. Having them continue insures that KISS stay alive for generations to come. If KISS stopped touring fans of today especially younger fans would never be able to experience a KISS show ever again. I think Gene and Paul have a genuine issue with the idea of mortality - they can’t imagine a world without them - hence this being appealing to them.
They’ve also been after the casual fan for years. I have a female friend in her early 30’s. She likes KISS and is perfectly happy with a Scooby Doo appearance with KISS on DVD. It’s something she can show her two year old. Nothing wrong with that, but I think that’s the demographic they want versus those us who dissect The Elder.
KISS haven’t been after hardcore fans like us for years. I’ve grown used to it.

I like a sprinkling of 80s songs. Nothing since. I don't care about the avatars. I don't need them to do anything else. I wish them a happy retirement.

This fan, since 1974, wants them to go off into the sunset and live the rest of their lives with their families and loved ones. Let Tommy take over the vault and just start dropping all those classic era shows and audio. That is what I am looking for. I am not remotely interested in any new music.

Ever since we all saw how good the Abba avatars were, I've thought for a long time now that Kiss should do that one day. Build replicas of the Destroyer or Love Gun stages, and reproduce the original band, as they were back in the 70's. A faithfull reproduction of classic Kiss, rather than this computer game style thing. That kind of hologram performance isn't built for touring, but you could have purpose built venues, like the one in London for the Abba show, in different countries. You could rotate the program by producing hologram shows of other classic bands and artists.
Possible eventually , different eras of Kiss.
I absolutely loved the reunion tour, but the one thing I thought could have made it even better, was if they had reporoduced the actual Love Gun/Alive ll stage set.

Great observations. While I understand the ABBA avatars and the show that they are putting on, i was never under the impression that it was meant as a vehicle of continuing the band. Sure there was a new album but that was more of a marketing tool. Certaintly a great way to market the band, but they haven't been active in the industry. For me the last show for KISS should have just been a celebration of the legacy, a thanks to the fans and even a thanks to KISS from the fans for all these years. Later on if they wanted to maket themselves into video games etc great. The end with the "new era" just tarnished everything. It was best saved for a later time. Even then we really don't know what they will do with it. As a touring show? Not those avatars as they were more movie/video game / comic. I imagine if they actually did something like having "shows" featurng past eras, etc it might be a fun thing to go see if in New York. It’s from the same people that do the Abba one in London, and that looks tremendous. I have some friends in England that were very sceptical, but they went and had a ball and have been a few times.
The Abba ones look 1000% better than those CGI things we saw. They look incredible, the Abba ones. The Kiss ones, I think those are a long way from what the finished product will be.
I get what Martin is saying, but this isn’t aimed at us dudes that are in our mid 50s. We’ve been with the band for most of our lives. This is the same as the Abba thing in that it’s for the casual fan and the younger generation that never got to experience the big show. And I think this will be pushed as a Kiss concert experience. We are never going to get another one in the flesh.
I’m happy for it to end here. With all these ideas they should do this, or do that, the one thing that seems to be discounted. They may just want to retire. They’ll never want for money. Gene is 75 next year. He’s said numerous times the last year, he’s tired. They’ve given us 50 years. Surely that’s enough.
Again, I’m going with what I see with my eyes, and what people have told me that have been to the Abba one. If it’s as good as that, I’m 100% down. This stuff has come a long way since the Dio hologram.

Avatars for immortality? Uh, that's what the thousands of KISS videos will provide. I just can't wrap my head around anyone wanting to see an animated KISS concert. I've been a fan since you could walk with them down the street, while they were hoping many of the local high school kids would show up for a concert. Bought all the ALBUMS. No CD's, No digital downloads. Big plastic platters. KISS Alive on LP is just magical to listen to. I've aged with them. I understand. Dying hair is just getting old. 7 inch leather heels, once theatrical, is now a life and limb decision. The money will always be there. Paul is wrong. Bands don't go on forever. Today, KISS was ONCE a band. The end of live performances turns a band into studio musicians should they put something else out. The fans die when the band dissolves and they simply become listeners. The hottest band in the world has been put to rest.

a mew kiss album would be a mess for a few reason. first, I saw an interview a year or so that Paul stated that he can't imagine writing any new songs plus the other factor is that his vocals are shot. they have decided to retire from touring like Elton John has decided he is done with traveling, same with Ted Nugent. he has complained that he is sick of staying at hotels. doing one last album with Ace, Peter, Bruce, Eric, and Tommy contribute but the problem is Paul has been very vocal about Ace and Peter. Gene is the same. they have admitted without Pete and Ace kiss would not existed but would not want to work with them again. kind of what Styx had said. well, what JT Young of Styx have said. he has gone on in a interview a few year ago on Dan Rather's Big Interview that he never want to ever work with Dennis again.
the point I'm making. Kiss want to continue as a brand instead of a band.

My first thought was , "oh god its Kiss Meets the Phantom" movie thing....oh boy....got to give it to them though, their trying different things...but I don't think this will stick. Its been 50 years, I think we are good and we get it. As a fan for almost 40 years, Im good and the most important thing for me is the music that they put out over the years. Without the song you have nothing no matter how cool the look or stage show. Crap songs is crap songs. Kiss hit and miss on songs too but when you look at the catalogue the 80/20 principle works really well. 20% of the songs in their catalogue are classic all the way. Remember the music will always continue no matter what form as oppose to the merchandise and other fun things they came up with and plus Im a musician so my focus was on their songs anyways!

    They were pretty poor.
If they want money have a couple hundred f official tribute bands using the KISS clothes and stage shows. These are effective for Genesis and Pink Floyd. Although they may not be official but use the costumes etc.

I don't think the demand for new music by any of these legacy acts or their remnants is in demand or will ever go over into any degree of real success.New Mick Mars and new ACE, neither are exactly chart toppers. Both just kinda....meh. I went to a Doobie Brothers concert last summer. Everyone was up singing along having a great time. Then one of them said "here's a new song!" The crowd got noticeably quite. People sat down, walked off the use the restroom or to get food or drinks. There were even some near me just yelling at the band to play their older music and everything going on on the stage seemed forced. I find it quite self-effacing of Gene and Paul to understand that not many people would listen to it more than once or twice and sales wouldn't even get them back in the black. I think this is evident when Kiss plays "Say Yeah" and to a degree even "Psycho Circus." It's okay but most people are just nodding along wishing they had dropped those songs and put in "Strutter!"

The avatar thing would fly if they were to approach it with a sense of realism. The direction taken with the current iteration looks too Macfarlane-esque and Guitar hero-ish. Rather they should try to re-create 70's era KISS with an authentic nod at replicating a live concert experience in all it's glory. If they want this new era of Kiss to appeal to a new generation of youth, they should redirect their focus on entering the gaming (streaming) industries or virtual reality gaming consoles (licensing deals). But for an avatar "concert experience" they need something more substantive, so by brandishing their own authentic selves into their avatars in the prime of their youth, the concert alone would have universal appeal.

The vapid people who bought ABBA records in the 1970s are the same vapid people who would pay to watch a cartoon ABBA. Some people pay other people to kick them in the testicles. That's not what most people are into, though, and most KISS fans are not into paying $200 to watch a videogame iteration of KISS. This is mindless, soulless, AI-generated consumerism.
