If the madden game clock worked like an actual, functional clock, then he wouldn’t have had to spam the timeout button and would’ve been able to call timeout with 3 seconds left. But nope, he had to spam the button due to the fear of the game clock magically losing 15 seconds, like it often does
So he left chew clock on. There is no run off with less than 2 minutes. He panicked and called time out at 5 seconds. He didn’t need to even call the FG and just have waited to call time out. He also could’ve just taken the knee because if you keep doing the offsides thing you auto forfeit for for greifing. So really this was his poor clock management...kind of like the lions in real life!

I mean it was garbage but the lions gave the game away by leaving time on the clock and by squib kicking. Idk why people bother with Squib kicks knowing how buggy madden is. I never squib in this game ever. Also if he just ran the clock down to 2 or 3 secs instead of 5 he would’ve won. Poor game management lost this game.
@@dylanlevesque235 Yeah I actually re-watched it and I realize now that the clock acceleration is what threw him off with the clock management at the end I think. Which is a whole different argument and another problem with Madden entirely in my opinion. I don't see why they dont turn off clock acceleration for at least the last minute or two of the game and only add in run offs that are actual real rules. I like the clock acceleration in general but There's no reason the clock should ever be going that fast that late in the game.

Going on 12 years since I’ve played a football game. Yep, Madden 09. I wanna get back to enjoying it but I refuse to give my money to this sorry ass company.
I am going on 3 years. I actually think madden 18 wasn't too bad. If it were tweaked a little, it could have been damn good. Then comes madden 19 and once i played the beta, I knew they were purposely taking a big step back. The last 3 years have been more arcade and a slap in the face than ever before.
I prefer Madden 10 of the more "recent" games -- and Madden '04 overall to me is STILL the GOAT. But yeah. Pretty sad that the games are getting worse, instead of getting better.
Not to mention when the guy got the first down to milk the clock , the defender couldn’t recognize that there was another player. He reach out to grab nothing because of the animation , and then got sucked into a tackle 😂. He was in perfect position to jump the pass and make a play on the ball , but he chose not to because he somehow didn’t realize there was an offensive player in the area 😂

I actually really liked the ambiance of the stadium commentator. It made it feel like a real game. Plus the stuff he was saying (while more basic) was way more relevant and accurate than what the madden crew often say.

I agree that the fans don't sound great, but I actually disagree with the repetition beyond the Justin Tucker thing but that's just because the guy called the same play twice. Otherwise it would at least throw an "again" in there to make it slightly unique. It is only bare minimum informative, but I liked the feeling it gave. I do wish it would have had more excitement on the last field goal and also less excitement on the kick return TD.
Being from Detroit and watching the Lions play growing up this is as realistic as this game can get. All of that work just to make a field goal. Madden finally gets something right oh wait...I just got to the end. This was a perfect depiction of a lions game 😂
They have been running the simulation on DraftKings for the past two years and the game has actually gotten much worse. If I listed the ridiculous, un-football like plays I’ve seen then my comment would be nine paragraphs long. It’s just a half assed, unrealistic clown show for a game that’s advertised as a NextGen sim. I’m not the type of person to complain about things either but I’m annoyed at the lack of effort put into Madden.

I have wondered for some time why Head Coaches always run the clock down to about 3 seconds or thereabouts at the end of the game and want to kick a field goal, and have at least one timeout left...and wait until 4th down to kick? what if there is a bad snap, or the holder muffs the hold and it throws the timing off, if you try the kick on 3rd down, you have one more down to re-try the kick? have never seen a bad snap in a Madden game ever as I think about it, but I have only played Madden '05 for the past 15 years
They really put more effort into that Pizza Hut logo than the actual game. What's even worse is I haven't played Madden since 18 now and I recognise all the same animations, hitches and general shittiness
Why wouldn't the defensive player turn around ? he just ran the same way as the returner, WTF ? Where was the User Control ? The stick skills for Defense ? Why did the first guy not pick the ball up ? Why did they dive on it & then get up ? There is no way this "Replicates" real football :(
I did it again. I downloaded the madden 21 demo. Uninstalled at halftime. Is it me or are ALL the physics off? Player movement, tackling, the ball itself! Seems like the ball has a life of it's own.

I been playing madden since 93.. and stopped about 5yrs back when they made it so everyone could play now you basically just have to power it on and hold the controller.. the best is when you get some buster thinking he is good.. when no skills are need with this game 😎
If you watch the lions during the kickoff, all of them just run directly towards the ball. None of them hang back to tackle him or slow down when it gets lateralled. Good ai
My thing was how are they still just 21 - 21 that late in the game. The defensive players can't guard anyone in this game unless you manually control them. Worst receiver in the game could rac, up 200+ yards and 3 or 4 TDs in a couple quarters against the CPU controlled players.
When he had that last guy to beat, you have to get as close as you can then switch off the player and allow the computer to make the tackle.. because of the way they make open field tackling on here. You can just slide basically and avoid someone.
