They should be given pension from govt. either Central or State. I m from Assam, love this musical instrument which is the National Instrument of India but our oldest musical instrument is preserved by a few hard working Southern gentlemen. They are not earning 15 thousand a month even after working day and night. In one video I saw a veena maker crying.
Yes friend u are absolutely correct.. just interviewed another veenai manufacturer last week watch another video recently uploaded.. Corona time govt not supported and their children converted to another profession.. may be in another 10 to 20 years all people working in this profession getting old and it slowly vanish away... He requested the govt to support but after many run ups no use.. these need to reach all levels to keep up our culture
