For me to keep going, I just like to play with mods following a certain theme, with skins going along with that, And since I like roleplaying, i mix it in my gameplay and act as if i m a character that talks to the people and things that are there... It seems weird but thats what I've been doing for like 5 years. And when I dont have enough motivation to do that kind of "roleplay" I just try out new things, like recently i've discovered that Weather mod it was fun to try things out with it
dude I do the exact same thing but in vanilla!! although recently i’ve really gotten into modding again interacting with the world outside of the game is just so fun!!
Another great video. A lot of these were totally relevant for me. I’ve had a slump with Minecraft over the whole of December and most of January so far. What got me motivated again was going back to basics. After recreating cubs pyramid from HC season 7 but in deepslate(plus a full interior where all my farms are), then moving onto a steampunk city with a giant suspension bridge. I found just going and building a tiny starter house with no grand expectations and some fields, practicing my terraforming skills has completely reinvigorated me
thank you!! i'm glad that you've been able to find some renewed motivation to play :) those sounds like massive projects, i don't blame you for wanting to change up your playstyle!
I played in the same world for about 2-3 years and it would just be off and on grind and it would always lead to burn out!! I started a brand new world for 1.19 and i’ve been playing the game entirely different. rather than focusing on progression first like i usually do, i’m building side by side. If i need a farm, i’ll decorate it and make it fit into the world!! I’m connecting everything with paths and railroads and the world feels so full and fun to explore and after about 7 months of playing i’m only on day 150 because I balance it with other games in order to avoid burnout! I’ll play usually 2-3 times a week for about 3-4 hours and it really works for me!! great video man keep it up!!!
My favorite feature of minecraft is exploring and looting. Mining can be relaxing and satisfying, but it gets boring sometimes. Looting in the neither and end cities is extremely fun to me.
Thanks for the video, the burnout really hits hard and it’s nice to see Minecraft creators talking and it Todays suggestion: 7 (or other) levels of making Minecraft statues: from easy to MEGA (like maybe villager statue, basic observer statue…)
i agree! motivation & burnout definitely deserve more discussion, even if it's not always the most fun topic. as for your suggestion, i'm pretty bad at statue building, but that's all the more reason to give it a shot! i'll keep the idea in mind (:
Leon.. I just don't know what I love about minecraft maybe pvp on bedrock or making farms idk? Recently I got motivation to build a project of japanese village and I needed mushroom for that! So I found a farm and prepared all the materials but idk why I... Didn't wanted to make the farm I just got bored and left for days. And maybe after this I can get some motivation again.. Maybe I'll again go to my world and start my project. You know I play singleplayer (as I don't have any friends) and seeing UA-camrs building great builds especially you and your tips, i got a lot of motivation but sadly that goes after a few hours :( If you read it please lemme know!
i totally feel you on this, it's definitely very hard to find the motivation to follow through with one's ideas 😞 one thing that's really helped me, is knowing that i'm making things for other people to see! i'm lucky to have a platform on UA-cam, and of course not everyone has an audience like that, but from what you said it sounds like minecraft is mostly a solo experience for you. i definitely encourage you to try posting your creations on reddit, discord, or any other communities where people are sharing their minecraft works! for example, /r/DetailCraft has a lot of really fantastic builders sharing their designs - i often take a lot of inspiration from that community. of course, i totally understand if you aren't able to find an audience to share your work with, or if you would rather not do so - i just wanted to highlight that it's helped me cultivate a continuous desire to play minecraft :)
thank you!! this one was quite fun to make, definitely a bit of a different video since i didn't really make any new builds - so i put extra effort into the edits :)
This video was amazing!! I've been having a ton of trouble lately figuring out what I even like to do best in Minecraft, it's nice to see stuff like this (also the editing is incredible wtf?? instant sub)
Thanks a lot! I usually find myself being lazy and calling it quits when I want to do the project. But now I feel confident to do a fast project that won’t bore me after a second. Thanks the tips as I will be more motivated in the future!
that last part is something I've learned recently. I still burn myself out quickly (one or two days of mc will do it for me now) but I get my energy back just as fast if I just take a break for a couple days. I've got this cottagecore skybase on a realm I share with a friend and I just started building an offshoot from it, where I want to build something a little bigger than a starter house lol. But so far I (with the help of my friend occasionally) have just been grinding for materials (and getting sidetracked with little sidequests - such as redirecting lightning away from our villager trading hall with lightning rods, since somehow they keep getting turned into witches, or putting torches and magma blocks in the shade of my skybase because mobs will walk a 1000 blocks to be annoying) and taking breaks as needed. So today I just finished chopping a tree (with help because its modded and very big), then built a basic layout for the house and decided to call it a night and watch some youtube.
Awesome video, I really enjoy creating lore for my worlds or playing on multiplayer. I havent gotten to play quite as much lately but I actually can still 'play' outside of the game by coming up with world building and lore ideas. My favorite world right now is my amplified survival world, lots of fun stories and fun builds there.
I’m trying to make a series of sci-fi games on minecraft and learning the commands for the code of the game is fun and your build tips really inspire me. I like playing survival mode with my friend sometimes on our server but I most enjoy making games. Thanks for the tips !
Believe it or not I started out on PE and racked up like 4 non stop months of playtime. Then I was introduced to Java and then Modded! Now I can't bring myself to even open bedrock of any edition which can suck when I have no access to Mods or Java. :((
On the last point I tend to try and branch out and do multiple types of things. I work on a build in one area and once I get even the hunch of burn out/lack of interest I move to redstone/farm builds. If I haven't gotten my urge to go back to the build and start losing interest in redstone builds I explore/mine whether its the nether, caves or finding a biome i haven't visited yet. USUALLY by then I pick back up the interest to build again and the cycle starts again. But there are times even then all facets of the game at once might not super interest you and that is fine and its ok to step away from the game for a week. Play something else, do something else and time away might freshen you mind and you can come back with a better building outlook.
For me i actually dont use that many farms i think in total i only use like 3 or 4 farms i am someone who prefers to take the game slow and not kidding but it took me nearly 3 months into my world till i finaly killrd the ender dragon soley became i needed the elytra for this big tower project i was working on Imo i think theres more value in items when you knwo youve worked for it i mean do people really need a 20K per hour gunpowder farm? I mean how many rockets do u need that u have to make a 20k gunpowder farm is my sort of mentality I think playing the game slow Instead of beating the game in like 10 minutes is more fun
i totally understand and respect that mentality :) i'm finding the slower pace of early/mid game minecraft to be really enjoyable in my UHC Generations hardcore series. of course, not everyone feels that way - some people are just genuinely excited by insanely quick farms and massive storage systems - but i think there's some really nice genuine-ness in the way you play the game. i hope that your mentality becomes more mainstream in the future 😄
thank you!! people tell me i'm underrated, personally i don't mind, i'm sure that as long as people such as yourself continue to enjoy my videos, it'll change eventually :)
this is the first time i think the tips are to quick. EDIT: honestly thank you, i never noticed until you said it, i always build in a similar style (even if it looks good) and i really think that it ruins my motivation. I love Redstone but never try it, because I'm always worried it wouldn't be optimized, but it really doesn't need to be.
glad to hear the video was helpful for you! :) i think trying out more block palettes (and maybe even some redstone too) would be a great idea - it definitely is tough at first, but i think you'll end up enjoying it a lot after some practice 💯
manually gathering materials to then build is half the fun in minecraft. building all those farms removes that, for no real gain and a giant sink in materials...
Hello! Sorry I’m late, idk if u will notice this comment but I occasionally play minecraft with my friends, but we just lose motivation in like an hour because I died in the nether and used creative to get my stuff, it just makes me sad and I make like 4 worlds in a day. Got any tips?
hey, no worries! no such thing as being late to a youtube video :) so it seems that some aspects of the game often disillusion you. would you say that you get more de-motivated by dying, or the fact that you use cheats to get your items back? i've seen both be very demoralizing for people
Bro this reminds me I had a server once that died and one day my friend asked if I could play so i said yes and I got on I saw a auto tree farm and then he showed me a mega base truly glorious.
I really want to learn to build but I just can’t do it. Right now I’m working on a giant cathedral. I’m slowly loosing confidence but I’m going to start a survival world where I don’t go straight to mining but I build.
a giant cathedral sounds like a pretty daunting and complex project - i don't blame you for feeling overwhelmed! i think it's totally understandable to start with smaller creations, or as you said, build in the early game to limit yourself a bit. i wish you best of luck with your builds :)
Tip 8 get your family to play its makes alot more fun when your spending time with family thats what i do and it just motivates me abit but this vid made that 5/100 motivaton to 101/100 motivat ion
I always found myself fascinated with technology and magic mod packs. My only problem? When building bases I was never original. I never had an original idea I just copied someone else's and built it and was done. How would you stay original and come up with Ideas for just any Minecraft base?
good question! a lot of inspiration i've had for bases (not necessarily ones i've built, but ones i've thought about as well lol) have come from other media - games, shows, movies etc. alternatively, you could stick with a certain theme or block palette, and just roll with it! some of the coolest bases i've ever seen will consist entirely of interiors, have an extremely colorful and vibrant (but not overwhelming) block palette, or focus on blending multiple styles together in a unique way.
I love Minecraft but what I tend to do is start a survival world and have loads of ideas, then think it’s going to take me agessss! Then cheat and change it to creative do what I got to do then change back and fourth! But I also struggling on what to build in Minecraft and how to start it ect 😢 any tips
that's a very good question, ty for reaching out! for your first point, i think you have two paths you can go down: 1) Play in creative mode! There's nothing wrong with being a creative mode player. Sure, it's not what all the big minecraft youtubers are doing (for the most part), but in creative mode building will be MUCH quicker, and you can more easily accomplish these ambitious projects that you're coming up with ideas for. 2) Accept the fact that Survival minecraft is slow, and reign in your ideas a bit. I know it takes a good amount of willpower to not just turn on cheats and skip the time-consuming resource grind, but you're going to be more proud of your build if you do it legit! However, Survival minecraft does take forever, so maybe it's best to work on smaller, less ambitious projects. For your second point, about struggling to start builds....that's a tough one! Starting a build is very tricky. I like to start by looking at some reference images (if I can find them), and then going into Creative mode and figuring out what blocks I'm going to be using, just to get a rough idea of how the colors translate into Minecraft. I like to design and polish my builds in Creative mode before bringing them over to a Survival world. But that doesn't mean I get all my builds right on the first try! 99% of the time you'll need to make revisions, tweak parts that don't look right, or sometimes even start over from scratch. It's frustrating for sure, but it's something that all artists go through. So ultimately, it's best to just accept it and enjoy the process as much as you can :)
@@LeonSBU wow thank you for replying wasn’t expecting a reply like that, thank you very much! It’s hard because I have ideas in what to build even in creative but when it comes to doing them my mind goes blank on how to start it if you get what I mean? Yeah it’s hard, I like survival but it’s such a long grind lol! And Yh I get what you mean I’ve tired doing that, doing them in creative then survival but I also struggle with landscaping and paths ect to connect stuff I always think it looks odd? I see all these amazing youtubers make there worlds look lush and I just struggle with that but wanna learn but it’s hard to know how to get better? Thank you again for replying appreciate it 🥰
those amazing youtubers are playing minecraft for a paycheck, and they know that whatever they make, a large amount of people will see it - trust me, it's a great motivator! 😉 but i completely agree, it's very tough to take those ideas and not only transform them into something that's feasible in minecraft, but also going out and actually doing it. i might actually make a few videos on the subject - ty for the inspiration! 👀
Bro if I think so stay motivated is make a mega project like a builder make a hotel grinder collect all block fo minecraft like sand mud and other That think is the good
For me its building, but building in Survival makes me burn out coz all the cool blocks i want to find are in the nether where i die immediatly. And when i try building in creative i burn out because there is not enough of a challenge picking blocks. Also i get really intimidated with all the other people building, my imagination thinks of those things but i cant get them onto Minecraft. Does anyone have mod suggestions?? For Creative or Survival??
hi, i wanted to ask to u or anyone that will see this comment, how am i gonna learn how to build good stuff and how to make cool looking details, if the 1 reason why i love minecraft, is bc of the amazing mods like the create mod, that improve the game by a lot?
I mean its not a requirement to be a minecraft builder if you keep getting distracted by create mod or other stuff that's fine Could just be that building isn't your type and your more into mods If you are interested in building best tip I could give is to build in different biomes and new themes and try everything because sticking to a rustic house in the plains will make you never improve And also watch and practice build tips videos like grian for example
that's a tough question - thank you for reaching out! i don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying modded minecraft more than vanilla. i totally agree that the base game is lacking in a lot of ways that make building more frustrating than it could be: bad inventory mechanics, clunky controls, etc. at the core of it, if you're looking to improve your building, all you need to do is practice a lot! this can come in the form of playing the game in creative mode, and experimenting with styles/shapes/ideas, or getting inspiration from other creators! however, if you don't find yourself enjoying the process of practicing building, it could just mean that minecraft building isn't really your thing. and that's totally ok! it's a very slow, grindy, and niche art form. if you've tried to build and find yourself always feeling uninspired/bored, maybe it's worth trying out other creative outlets - no shame in that at all :)
i just suck at building in mucraft the thing is i started to build a old city but i...just dont like it and i feel like giving up and delete the world :( For me minecraft feels like a chore
ah, sorry to hear :( there's nothing wrong with taking a break! it really sucks to try and force yourself to complete something that you're burnt out on. maybe there's another creative outlet that excites you more?
20 seconds in and I can already tell you that's NEVER happened 🤣 I can only imagine having friends that play minecraft... e.e it's been a solo 13 year minecrafting journey for my part 😅
For me to keep going, I just like to play with mods following a certain theme, with skins going along with that, And since I like roleplaying, i mix it in my gameplay and act as if i m a character that talks to the people and things that are there... that last part is something I've learned recently.

but i completely agree, it's very tough to take those ideas and not only transform them into something that's feasible in minecraft, but also going out and actually doing it. i might actually make a few videos on the subject - ty for the inspiration! 👀
try playing the game without destroying any non renewable block. Just try to see how you survive while obtaining materials from secondary sources.
Bro if I think so stay motivated is make a mega project like a builder make a hotel grinder collect all block fo minecraft like sand mud and other
That think is the good
For me its building, but building in Survival makes me burn out coz all the cool blocks i want to find are in the nether where i die immediatly. And when i try building in creative i burn out because there is not enough of a challenge picking blocks.
Also i get really intimidated with all the other people building, my imagination thinks of those things but i cant get them onto Minecraft.
Does anyone have mod suggestions?? For Creative or Survival??
Miss watching this channel. :)
glad to have ya back!
I dabble in all three combat redstone and building
hi, i wanted to ask to u or anyone that will see this comment, how am i gonna learn how to build good stuff and how to make cool looking details, if the 1 reason why i love minecraft, is bc of the amazing mods like the create mod, that improve the game by a lot?
I mean its not a requirement to be a minecraft builder if you keep getting distracted by create mod or other stuff that's fine
Could just be that building isn't your type and your more into mods
If you are interested in building best tip I could give is to build in different biomes and new themes and try everything because sticking to a rustic house in the plains will make you never improve
And also watch and practice build tips videos like grian for example
that's a tough question - thank you for reaching out! i don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying modded minecraft more than vanilla. i totally agree that the base game is lacking in a lot of ways that make building more frustrating than it could be: bad inventory mechanics, clunky controls, etc.
at the core of it, if you're looking to improve your building, all you need to do is practice a lot! this can come in the form of playing the game in creative mode, and experimenting with styles/shapes/ideas, or getting inspiration from other creators! however, if you don't find yourself enjoying the process of practicing building, it could just mean that minecraft building isn't really your thing. and that's totally ok! it's a very slow, grindy, and niche art form. if you've tried to build and find yourself always feeling uninspired/bored, maybe it's worth trying out other creative outlets - no shame in that at all :)
tysm for the help🥰🥰@@LeonSBU
i just suck at building in mucraft the thing is i started to build a old city but i...just dont like it and i feel like giving up and delete the world :(
For me minecraft feels like a chore
ah, sorry to hear :( there's nothing wrong with taking a break! it really sucks to try and force yourself to complete something that you're burnt out on. maybe there's another creative outlet that excites you more?
Don’t use up all your Minecraft enthusiasm in a week. I DO WUT I WANT!!!!
20 seconds in and I can already tell you that's NEVER happened 🤣
I can only imagine having friends that play minecraft... e.e it's been a solo 13 year minecrafting journey for my part 😅
