I KNEW that thing played Happy Birthday ONCE sometime in the 90s, my brother said I was crazy!!!
Thanks. I have had this keyboard since like 30 years and have never notice any of these easter songs. However today my 4 year daughter mashing buttons on the keyboard, and happy birthday started to play, and I was just blowed away. Needed to look up and find this video. So thank you to finding all the songs now (and yes, to my daughter too being more 'creative' than me) :) my life is complete now.
I spent my childhood playing with this keyboard! :) I still remember every single sound!
86nommad “Chick, Chick”
Thank you! I have the SA-3 since I was like 6 and never knew about the hidden songs! my kid found the happy birthday song and I couldn’t believe it! And of course couldn’t make it sound again, So I searched and found your video, the same button combination works for the 3 songs on the SA-3 I’m so happy! thank you so much for your video ❤ you made my day
This video just made my day! I remember as a kid having one of the easter egg songs starting to play as I was just mashing on a bunch of keys and I was so surprised. Then I tried to do the same thing again and got the other two easter egg songs to play eventually, but I had no idea how I did it or what exact keys to hit, other than to hit around on the drum keys and the lower keyboard keys. It's always been a mystery to me if anyone else ever had it happen to them or if it was just a fluke with my specific keyboard. I'm pretty sure at one point I even tried emailing customer service at Casio years ago to ask them. I'm so happy I just stumbled across this video after doing another quick search years later -- thank you! Mystery solved :)
My goodness i had this keyboard and found those three sons by smashing the drum buttons and hitting demo a or b randomly. After a while they play!! I also had anther bigger sa thirty something that had 5 buttons for all deno songs so i recognized those three right away!!
I still have an SA-8 today, and still play it.
I remember only a couple years ago, I was just mashing the keys and it started playing Happy Birthday.
my dad bought me either this keyboard or the sa9 first when I was about 3 ears old. Then I had the bigger version the sa75. I want to get another sa75 just to mess around with for the memmories it brings back :) I love listening to how these keyboards sounded. I have so many fond memmories of these keyboards
So many people here have memories of this keyboard haha I had one when I was a kid and still remember all those sounds. I remember getting one of the Easter egg songs to play buy chance and could never replicate it again.
Wow that's awesome that they included a way to access the unused songs, that's a nice feature.
Finaly after all those years !
Easter eggs on my keyboard.
:-) :-) :-)
OMG! Wait 26 years to know this!Amazing!
oh the nostalgia cheers for the upload
This is the keyboard I remember tooling around with over two decades back that I think belonged to one of my siblings. Nothing special for a toy keyboard but it was interesting for the sounds it made.
I have had the SA-3 since I was born basically (it looks exactly the same as this one), I am going to try and see if it has any hidden songs too :D What a nostalgic instrument, and what awe to discover unknown features of your old devices..
UPDATE The same songs are on the SA-3 too! I also got one of the songs with buttons to play by using some combinations of keys too :D
The hidden songs are included normally on the SA-39
I had this as a kid in the early 90s ? Remember all the sounds used to drive my parents up the wall with the orient demo 😬
lmao this was my favourite as a 2 year old also, absolutely maddening i bet 😂😂🤣🤣
I have the same keyboard but it's called sa-3. Now I will go trying the hidden songs!!
I felt incredibly lucky as a child when I discovered the secret songs. I had this given to me in 1990
It’s a nice little keyboard, and it’s also good to try and go beyond the demo songs by finding a few hidden ones as I’ve shown on this video.
Thanks for watching!
Same here, brother. I´ve got so happy when I saw that my parents gave me one at christmas, 1990. I was standing and playing them demos in the shop like crazy. After I´ve got it we started to find them hidden songs! But we had to press for sooo long before we happend to get one! When I heard the first secret demo song in this clip, I just knew that music was magic.. Finally, after many years I found the the real piece - Chopin´s Nocturne in E-flat. And Chopin is not someone you like, Chopin is something you are. I just got happy finding this video and reading your comment. Brought me back totally. Greetings from Sweden. Cheers!
Thank you for this! I've had this keyboard since I was 2 years old. I'm now 27.
When I was a kid at primary school, I told people I got it to play "Happy birthday" by itself when I was hitting random keys, and they wouldn't believe me! Hahaha!
latschospezial that’s is so true, teenagers (especially girls) are just seen glued to their phones nowadays, never had this back in the 90s when I was a kid.
This is basically the same tone bank like the red SA-9 you reviewed earlier, but due to the missing buttons 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9, only one quarter of the whole tone bank is accessible. I guess there shall be another easter egg for this, just like there is for those three demo songs.
i love pops Music 😍😍😍😍
so..okay! :o !! when I was 5 years old I discovered the Happy Birthday song accidentally but but I did not know that there was a hidden menu!!!!!!! omg :O
this keyboard reminds me of the casio sa39 which is this keyboards larger sibling, also, that is where the rest of the songs have buttons for them. speaking of hidden eastereggs, I believe the casio SA 5has one but you have to do some messing with the on/off switch, I remember doing it and unlocking 5 extra songs, may also work on the casio m100, this I believe has something to do with the fact that casio is using the same keyboard maitrics fromthe sa39 which explains why you can access the songs, as for the sa5, thats easy because the chip is used in the m200 and sa35. back in 2010 I found a cheap keyboard at tesco that had 3 demo songs +5 extra songs, and I found out the main keyboard is the super music centre, released the same year. so all in all you could say this is a casio SA39 in a smaller shell
good keyboard
Nostalgia wait ! .... i'm crying :'(
these are the same pcm sounds, rhythms & demos as the SA-39, Casio just removed some of the buttons so you can't access all of them to make a smaller cheaper version. They did this a lot with many other models
Yeah. Makes me wonder if it's really an easter egg or just the IC rolling over some register by fault.
I have a question, on the casio ctk495 there are reserved rhythms that are not listed in the style mode, is there a way to access those that works universally like on every casio with the same sound chip
7:05 Reminds me of an Earthbound sample or something...
10:50 Interesting how they'd leave in full song data like this... It kinda makes me wish there was a way to go beyond later Casio keyboards' limits to see if any of the unique rhythms they use in their songs are hidden beyond #100... (I'm really interested in the one where a choir goes "AAH AAH ... AAH AAH AAH" in the background. It can be heard in some of the songs around where Kang Ding Qing Ge is placed, but check and you'll find you can't play that beat yourself, and *every song* that uses it has harmony notes that you can't turn off, like a random string!)
I know the reply is late, but haha you’re right, it kinda does have an Earthbound ring to it, I’ve played the game years ago, absolutely love it!
I had this as a kid, thanks for the nostalgia. any idea what year this keyboard came out?
Thank you for your comment! I’ve had a look to find out what year this keyboard was released, and unfortunately I couldn’t find anywhere that could tell me, but I’m guessing this was during the early 90s back when Casio did a lot of different SA keyboards.
Thanks for watching!
There was also a SA-3 which is the same as this.
+Joseph Phillips I know I played with one of these as a 12 year old! Didn't really learn music of it as much as annoying my sibs!
This was the 2nd keyboard I owned.
ive got the keyboard but the combinations isnt working
I managed to accidentally activate that easter egg when I was about 6 years old, my tiny mind was blown.
It’s a great little hidden feature I bet Casio didn’t want anyone to know at the time, I only knew about it because someone told me about it, so I thought that I had to show this hidden feature for others to know who don’t know about it yet.
Thanks for watching!
well theres 3 hidden demo songs so a bit of everything you mentioned ;)
Did you know some easter egg for the casio sa-5? Thanks ♡
I don’t have an SA-5 I’m afraid, but it’s good that these little toy Casio’s has some hidden features in them for extra songs etc
Anyone know how to play these hidden songs on a SA-3? I accidentally triggered it once but can’t figure out how! It’s not the same as in the video
15:26 for the Easter Egg....
+ニューヨークの下で Didn't know it had hidden tunes!
Hello. I was just browsing around to see what the other Casio SA series keyboards are like. I think that's the first keyboard I've heard with a hidden easter egg! I must admit that the video recorder used is a lot better and I got to hear what the keyboard really sounded like compared to the SA9 and Casio Club M-100. How many speakers does the M-100 have? PS my friend Sarah would love to hear you play the Simpsons on Waw Voice through direct line through the M-100 if possible, she loves the Simpsons. Her channel is sarah headinclouds. I'll ask her to comment on a vid for you.
Hi my mate Thomas has introduced me to your page, You certainly have a great selection of keyboards, I have the Casio SA-5 which is a nice little gadget which I'm going to give to Tom, I'm enjoying looking at your page keep up the good work :)
I discovered today the Twinkle Twinkle song by playing natural light w/drums of Porter Robinson, and I was very surprised and almost cry haha
