This is the last video with Geophaguses. Got rid off them already. Leo's are in another tank as they are not getting enough food here. Need to get them bigger first. Terrarium side has changed a lot since last video and basiliscus are really enjoying their new habitat. Water isn't quite clear as I had to harvest some plants just before Tommi took these clips. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини

don't get me wrong...this tank is epic, i am nothing put a drop of aquarium water on the floor of this glorious tank.....BUT, I am surprised more people with these huge paludaria don't put in large schools of smaller fish. I would have choosen to have two or three schools of tetres and headstanders and then some medium catfish and a huge school of cory.
BUT again, whoever created this glorious tank is a genius that deserves respect and accolade.

The Arowana looks soooo cool in that big tank. I would just have skipped the Cichla and THEN you could mix in small fish that the Arowana would ignore- Cardinal tetras for example and grow plants. Nobody puts their Arowana in a planted big tank. It would look so natural.
Fish typically make the water very dirty but I’m sure if you have some clean up fish added working along side the artificial filter system and natural roots if the plants you could do something amazing!

Love the updated video. The only thing I would do differently is get rid of the aropima. I'm just not a fan of them at all. But that's just me. I like the addition of the peacock and the catfish. Great setup!
The type of habitat that makes you want to sit for eons of time barely noticing outside nature. The only thing I could think of is possibly more fill in in certain areas like plants and maybe more dense background drift wood for the aquatic area.

No updates on this in 8 years? I see a good flow...would like to hear the gurgle. I have my filter going with the water pump (1,250 for a 920 liter tank) gurgling kind of loud but the Rainbow fish and loaches love the strong current- and bubbles!..true!

Looks fantastic. Maybe if you had left out the Cichla and Pike cichlids..you could have gone with an even more natural look..plants and schools of smaller fish. Or Arowana with Altums,Geophagus..like that and also plants.

Awesome setup! I am particularly intrigued by the plumifrons being kept over a fish tank. Do they ever use the water part, that is, do they come down to dive and swim? What do you feed them? Obviously they have more space to climb around than most people can provide, but don't they need a flat area to walk around and sleep as well?

In matter of fact, this Arowana didn't get drop-eye. Most of the tank-bred aro's gets it, but in my tank he was always looking upwards and trying to find leftover crickets from those Basilisks.
