My maternal grandfather built the awang airport in 1929 - 1939 for American War Planes in preparation against German eminent WWII invasion.
Awang was then densely lush with trees that was tedious for the enemy to Spot, since the old Cotabato Airport was a short runway for a bigger planes to land - and seemed to have so many small residents in close vicinity that was in much open space and can't be ideal for U.S. and Australian War Planes to land for a hanger.
He resumed the airport modernization in 1946 - 1947.
He departed back to New York via San Francisco, early February 1948 docked in Hongkong, Japan, and headed home in anticipation of seing his waiting siblings, ... but died 10miles away from San Bruno Wharf of San Francisco CA. 3rd week of March of 1948 - lived his remaining life with one lung after the Battle of the Buldge under Union Military of the U.S.A. in Europe,... 1908 escalated in WWI served as a Picul Baron Military Merchant enlisted three times assigned with the ally Japan in Siberia against Germany and Russia.
WWII was his 3rd and last enlist, served Singapore, Burma and the Philippines against Japan invasions.

Such a great vlog...nag enjoy po ako sa panonood habang nagte take off or pa landing na yung eroplano...I was only a passenger for how many times yet curious parin until now kung papano lumilipad Ang eroplano at kung anong ginagawa sa harapan ng eroplano sa inuupuan mismo ng mga pilots....heheh Nkaka amazed po kayong panoorin parang Ang Dali Dali Lang po sa inyo magpalipad ng eroplano. But for me I think its hard to know those things...kc Ang Daming pinipindot na mga Buttons sa harapan nyo...parang Nkaka confused po heheh
