Been binging a lot of production log videos recently. I can't imagine the frustration from all the freezes. But it's still a nice presentation! I love Gizmos.
Amazing how good Geometry Nodes are today (please: custom gizmos soon!!). So much power to create anything!! Thanks for the talk, my favourite so far 😊
To be honest, I dont like the idea of back propagating the data from the nodr to their inputs. I think that the node should just return a single value as expected and have the inputs be modified by single values via an extra new node or a new socket in the Group inout node (which i dont like either)
Kinda curious, when you had to present you talk. Were theybactually already working on 4.3. i mean these talks are submitted months ago. We were srill in 4.9 i vekieve and they were workijg on 4.2
why call it foregt about nodes if its literally ONLY covering a node based workflow. the title implies we'll learn some trick, but its just nodes being nodes
He talked about that in the beginning. It's so people who make node tools and node plugins can make them for other people who then can forget about nodes. So maybe it should be "Help others forget about nodes"
The title is engagement-bait. This is pretty huge for creating more intuitive and faster environment creation workflows, and also gizmos seem pretty ideal with regards to real-time parameter mappings.
@@donnydarko7624 Though they aren't as useful when you're already using gizmos. I can see a scenario happening where you can't tell whether you're using the node gizmo, or the standard gizmo.
Dude has so many Blender instances running he could open a restaurant.
They are not running, he's probably also a developer. I also gave 4-5versions installed. He just has them pinned to the taskbar
I’m getting strong Jim Halpert vibes from Simon. And I dig it.
Luckily this video popped up in my feed, I had no clue that there is a lot of new content on the Blender channel, time to bingewatch them all.
Yeah blender conference going on all weekend. It's every year end of October, so you can look forward to next year after finishing binging this...

Good presentation after the first 4 minutes of tech difficulties. These video could use some light editing for content.
Blender crashing at the start is to funny. 🤣
why he's using a beta build?
@@egretfx to showcase the new feature
I feel like he had way too many programs running when he started.
Very helpful explanation.
Can this gizmos bring the same concept from rigging? Where we can create our own gizmos and simply eyedrop them.
We should be thankful that we are able to listen to this even
@@GarviHere well, you can be thankful and also bring some ideas to the table, it won't only help me or you but others.
@@GarviHere Maya is still industry standard.
Gizmo's aren't actually meshes. They are just UI shapes floating in 3d space. Like the 3d cursor, or the arrows for moving objects around.
@@DrTheRich well, they can always be changed if users see an advangate in implementing custom meshes.
For some reason they are on rigging.
Seems ideal for real-time input control over parameters.

Tooltips for gizmos would be nice
The first second I saw the face I knew there will be an asterisk to that title, next time try with mask 😄
Forget about Blender crashing
