i agree with the laying down thing, even if i did try and lay down thats not the problem since if i take a knee or a really low knee like im use to in other games it moves me around and makes me feel off balance
great video, but johns response to the maps problem is a little worrying, although it’s true that defenders should get to the cites first, there’s a consistent theme across khidi of defending being significantly easier than attacking, not much has really been done to try and balance this map further im months and I hope that the response to it isn’t simply to make attackers sided maps in order to counteract the defender sided maps.
Super late response, but: Defense is always easier than offense in every objective game. Watching an angle and waiting for someone to walk into your Crosshair is ALWAYS stronger than being the ones pushing. Especially since defenders generally only have 2 people on a given site and the attackers have 5 pushing, the 2 people defending should have strong positions to hold to 2v5/hold off until their team can rotate. Attackers can compete with this by having good utility placement/smokes/fakes, etc. Online play also has peekers advantage, which helps shift the strength into the attackers side a bit more.
Yall are some of the most down to earth devs I’ve ever seen! Keep up the amazing work and thoughts yall put into this beauty of a game. This IS my first fps gun vr game. I’ve fallen in love with this game! Yall have given us a true dream game
Very nice, interesting video - I hope markymark zuck doesn't destroy the vr market with his dalliances with the device devs to gain friends, and the market can support developers like this.
I doubt they'd ever add this but a gamemode similar to phantom force's tag run would be sick. It's like kill confirmed where people drop dogtags then you have to pick them up but instead of instantly getting a point for your team the tag goes into an "inventory" and to redeem any tags you have you have to walk into one of 3 sites on the map (usable by either team) and if you die you drop every tag you are carrying. They recently (ish) introduced that gamemode in phantom forces and it is easily one of my favourite fps gamemodes I've played in any game despite never seeing it outside of phantom forces
that sounds cool but relatively low mobility in vail makes it probably not great (people will be killed often on the way to score, so just camp the score sites and claim other people's points)
@@IAmPancake yeah that's true, phantom forces has much faster mobility especially if you use empsliding (essentially that games equivalent to bhopping but easier to do and not as good)
I really would love the option of laying down though. i Know it's not super often, but it allows for a lot more gameplay choices and variety in gunfights. I've also had tons of hilarious moments playing dead in onward, that i would love to have here. Also, I would love to have Bhaptics working as soon as possible.
Same, in the games I've tried to lay down it doesn't actually let me go prone in game it's ends up with my character model looking like I'm glitching out
my main issue with the game is the inconsistent performance, idk if its just a me problem, but sometimes I load up the game and its perfect, buttery smooth even on ultra, then I could play the next day and it will be completely different, like unplayable even on lower settings and I don't understand why, ESPECIALLY ON SUNA, sometimes I go down to 14 fps for no reason, but if its not a me problem I know it will be fixed because the devs genuinely care which is the main reason I come back
If they want their game to have a certain art style then they should stick with it. They can still add one or two maps that will look more colorful than the rest and different so we can feel a change from time to time.

Lots of PCVR ESP and AIMBOT 'competitive' players. They boost their stats all day pretending their actually playing fair. Game needs a report system and proper anti cheat.
Every time I get on, there are tons of full lobbies. But I live in NA and get on during the community events in the discord. Your experience could be really different but idk.

It sounds like many of the review criticize the maps. Every time the maps were mentioned the map dev discredited their feedback.... Don't do that. If you listen to feedback you can make the maps better, don't dismiss your player base out of pride.
the major thing i disliked is the ammo location and utility location the amount of times i have grab something i did not want is crazy i also like the storing gun on back and while this works in vail - 30%of the time i just throw the gun over my back . just wish i didn't lose my gun so many times. i like limited ammo but not sure i need to see the mags on my chest - they could be hidden on waist and only pull the correct mag based on gun your holding until you run out. Also Map - Dig = Gold John Gold
Nice review guys. Keep being active with the community and keep the community interacting with each other and this game will keep going forward. I recently ordered a Valve Index and a Kiwi pulley system for the cable, and I'm also trying to get an RX4090. Once I get all these, I'm getting the game.
Best competiv shooter since css,i have played pavlov contractors but you have nailed the gunplay and the maps are nice, not too call of duty fancy like it reminds me of the good time feeling playing a good round css with your buddys.❤thanks played Assassins creed today it looks realy nice but the combat system is a shame just turned it of and played somevrounds vail because its frustating when you are really good in reallife but the game cant cope any movments ect.🎉
Wait they removed friendly fire? ): last time i played i loved "accidentally" deleting one of my teammates but i completely understand why they'd remove it (likely because of people like me)
Love this game. I do wish sniper rifles were in the game but I know they're coming sooner or later. Also wish I had a computer that was strong enough and fast enough to make some maps for this game can't wait for Community developed Maps.
loved the game, but i don't feel attracted to play it always since there is not much to do always playing with 200+ms since mostly there are only 2/4 lobbies with people
Every shooter should have prone, if you can’t or don’t want to use it that’s on you, shouldn’t shame people for wanting that in a shooter I’ve seen way lower end games with it, these devs are kinda dicks.
Great that you pay attention to the players. Sorry but I hate first person anything so I'm not going to be owning vr and I hate multiplayer and social games...so yeah
My only problem with the game is the peeking, when i lean left or right with my phisycal body, my caracter whole body is came out from the cover. You are definetly right with the recoil, but the AK-303 is suck, so plz balnce. Keep up the good work, thx for the game!
i refunded this game on day 1 cuz there were just too hackers in my lobbies. or i guess the skill difference between my team mates and the others was to big. like i got headshotted constantly trough smokes and would die so fast after i saw someone pop into my vision. like bruh i need like 1 sec to aim and fire but i die in 0.3sec already. so idk maybe it's a latency problem aswell but game play wise i didn't have much fun .... even getting some kills after trying really hard it didn't feel rewarding enough. oh btw i was only able to find team death match lobbies.... why isnt there match making for anything, e.g. other game modes?? like i'd propably enjoy playing a 5v5 plant the bomb or push a payload setting more . ok so going back on tdm . the maps are so open and honestly very bad in design.... i ususally had to walk around for 1 minute until i saw anyone and they would never respawn anywhere close to me. why are they so far away from where i am and it just meant i was constatly searching instead of trying to kill. so yeah idk. you guys rly made a unfun bad game . maybe if you had a bigger playerbase and could fix matchmaking so i can play in a lobby with other people who play for the first time and need some time to adjust their aim before firing a killing bullet it would be more fun. Here is a fun idea. decrease bullet dmg. make the game feel more like overwatch where long kill times are a thing with tank and support characters. now you'll have a more fun game thats aimed at a more mainstream consumer market.
Review 1 This game doesn’t bring anything new to the table as far as shooters go and it’s pretty bland for starters. Devs do care but the gameplay just wasn’t there. As someone who played a lot of Pav and now Contractors there was no reason for me to keep this in my library so it was quickly refunded. Movement feels very limited and the game just doesn’t feel ready. Improve gun mechanics all you want but at the end of the day the world you’re playing is very meh. Review 2 Vail has had a long development, over 4-ish years if I recall correctly, and has been extensively play tested by members of the surrounding competitive leagues. The developers, AEXLAB, are responsive and dedicated, but even with the lenghthy dev cycle the game needs more time in the oven. I don't mean any malice with this review, as I was given this product for free like many of the reviewers here, but I believe it would not be honest to forgo criticism for a game boasting to be the "ultimate VR shooter experience". Couple of your biggest negative reviews you somehow missed.
Seems like a few of these dudes need to be humbled! And yea the games fair but the visual art style of the generic stages are complete ass, talking down to your player base will definitely not increase the tiny player count.
Its good game, its hard. Devs/Design should design a physical stock. Would love to run faster. The art style is unique and creative. Gun firing is satisfying. Its awesome really.
One day, when I amount a whole bunch of money, I will be donating to the VAIL team to improve this game. Like I said in my other comment: This is my favorite VR game. I’m a PCVR Valve Index player just so ya know

bhaptics are on the way, and eventually we'll be exploring prone mode for specific maps

To be honest, I do miss the days of knowing everyone too. You could hop into a lobby at any time and at the very least recognize one name
