I’m hoping for a good game. I’m a Tennessee fan. We are doing good against small teams. OU was supposed to be our first test but OU isn’t really showing they’re a threat. I hope, out of sportsmanship, they are better when we play.
OU's defense played pretty good holding Tulane to 279 yards after KSU gave up 500 to them last week. They got a couple of miracle TDs catching a highlight reel high point grab in the back of the endzone with just seconds left in the 1st half and then going for it on 4th and goal from the 8 yard line and making it by what wasn't more than inches. Arnold did ok and had 14 carries for 97 yards. I think this OU defense is pretty good and that always gives you a chance against anybody.
Looking forward to seeing heupel back in Norman. The QB who brought OU back into national prominence. It all started with him, Quinton, rocky, Torrance and the gang.
We looked legit top 10 in the first half, then like a top 75 team in the 3rd/half the 4th, then top 10 again.. granted we’re missing like 9 starters but excuses aside we’re Oklahoma… injuries suck but we shouldn’t be this inconsistent. Still an improvement at least and Tulane isn’t bad. 14 of their points came from a 4th down touchdown they got by maybe an inch then a fluke pick 6. Could’ve easily blown this thing out of the water but a win is a win. Can’t have those mistakes against Tennessee or we’ll lose by 28+ tho. They might just be the best team in the nation.. we’ll get to find out tho because we play the #1, #4, #5, #6, #7 teams as well as 2 more top 25 teams. I know it’s SEC but look at Texas and UGA’s schedule.. ours is arguably the toughest in the nation. Certainly the toughest out of a ranked team. Next year it lightens up again & we’ll be much improved on the OL we just gotta survive this year with a respectable 8 wins. Ok im done venting sorry for the novel lol

Two straight games, Oklahoma was not dominate, last week against Houston only winning 16-12 and today, beating Tulane 34 -19, where the Green Wave had the momentum to possibly take the lead. Thankfully, Sooners' DE R Mason Thomas came up big time late in the 4th with two much needed sacks on the Tulane QB to help seal this tight game. Even though Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold looked impressive with the long runs throughout the game, when he is heavily pressured, he made a costly error in throwing ball away that resulted in points for the Green Wave. 🤔😑 Next Week, OU has its first big test in the SEC by hosting a very good Tennessee Team that is currently ranked #7 in the nation and annihilated Kent State 71-0. I am guessing, the Vols will be the early favorite to win the game on the road at OU next Saturday. Hopefully, the Sooners will be able to keep the game close for all 4 quarters and come away with an upset win vs. Tennessee.
There was a targeting call called on Tulane during this game. Jackson Arnold completely slid underneath the defender. The announcers tried to say it was the defenders forearm that hit his helmet. Jackson Arnold is going to be a great QB. He made 1 bad decision today but a first year QB shouldn't have to be perfect to win. He needs help. Oklahoma has 4 of their top 5 Wrs out due to injury and a banged up O line causing the running game to have issues. It's Arnold/Burks vs the entire defense. That isn't enough to be successful on offense. We won't know what we have until we have Anderson & Anthony back and a semi healthy offensive line. If we are forced to play without our best players it's obviously going to be hard to win games. That's common sense. Our offensive coordinator has to put Arnold in situations to be successful on 1st and 2nd down if we want to get into a rhythm as a offense which he did in the 1st half but failed to do most of the second half.
