I used to play this game to death back in the day on my Amiga. Best F1 game till I got Grand Prix 2 on the PC. There were Grand Prix 3, Grand Prix 3 2000 season and Grand Prix 4. I had them all.
at about 18 minutes, what did you go crazy and try to look at? :)like you say, you were getting a rhythm? I love your videos. no retakes, just bang, all in as long as the video and audio is good.
Loved that game so much. Must have put 1000's of hours into it, especially when the editor came out (yes there was a 4 btw) auto gears and no damage? c'mon ;) haha Loved this, reminded me of when Silverstone was a great track!
Playing a full season of F1GP with full race laps is still one of my greatest gaming achievements. I remember it being a bit smoother than this on my 1200, so I must have turned down the detail to up the frame-rate even back then.
@@chinnyvision2 68020 IPS is .303 per MHZ vs .175 per MHZ for Motorola 68000. So at 28MHZ, your computer is about 7 times faster than the A500 at 7.14MHZ. Your frame rate doesn't seem 7 times as fast as the A500 version.
@@darksword1 The engine in F1GP doesn't work like that. I can't remember the details but 2 x the clock speed won't give you 2 x the frame rate. It's a very early 3D engine designed to work on a base Amiga.
This was an incredible game, especially the Multiplayer

I've played this game so much on my 386 back in late 93... 30 years ago ... damn , time goes by so fast...
Playing over null modem cable head to head was great fun back in the day.
Used to do this with my mate on the PC version. He had a PC emulator card in his Archie.
this game looks pretty fuckin cool for an old game like this
Pfff.. 4th.. I must have had a wheel missing ;D
That crash at around 6 minutes is almost a carbon copy of Damon Hill taking out Michael Schumacher in 1995
Nice bonus Sunday Chinny 2. Great stuff 👍
Twenty-third place finish for me 😂 That was thoroughly enjoyable. I actually laughed out loud when you got struck by Nicholas Bond-Owen
Couldn't believe the speed of this game once it was released for the Amiga(as long as you didn't use high detail). Amazing memorys..

Probably to reach to the keyboard to check what other cars are around.

This is running on a 28MHz A1200 at the standard game settings so should be at least twice as fast as stock.
@@chinnyvision2 I guess my nostalgic and rose-tinted memories kicked in!
Impressive for an Amiga ! I have on Forza Motorsport on Xbox
Amazing programming to make it work like this on a 14 Mhz 68020! That also kinda works on the ol' 7 Mhz 68000 is a marvel. (Yes even the Amiga.500 )
My A1200 runs at 28MHz. Hopefully I mention that somewhere.
@@chinnyvision2 What a beast!
@@chinnyvision2 Do you know how many FPS your 28 MHZ gets? It doesn't seem all that smooth, maybe a little smoother than the A500?

I like the tactics. Drive like a James Hunt and send them all back to the pits for a new rear wing 😂.
Me and my mate always did this. Enormous pile ups on that sharp first corner in France.
Still the greatest F1 game ever made... and I'm not just saying that because it has the old Adelaide circuit on there.
Ah the one with the sharp right hand corner two thirds of the way through iirc?
@@chinnyvision2 Yep, right at the bottom of Brabham Straight.
@@OzRetrocomp That was always a good place to cause chaos. In fact, IIRC as a certain German did!
I think oflot of causual retro fans forget 3d exusted before PS1 etc.
