Hey mate my yz 85 has randomly been feeling shit and I don't know much about bikes could U help me we fouled a spark plug and got a new one and running 40:1 mixed with 5 litres of petrol
I have the same problem with my bike when I got it it was perfectly fine and just not when I go to second gear it bogs out when I rev it and it just started happening now
same thing happened to me kind of, it bogs out after quarter throttle and i got a brand new spark plug and cleaned my carb already and it worked great till i slowed down, i stalled and though nothing of it then i started it back up and had the same issue and this was the first ride after fixing it, i also hit one puddle so that might have something to do with it
have u checked the isle speed on your carburetor? seems like it’s bogging down due to low idle tick speed, there should be a screw on your carb - tighten it
High speed needle in carburettor need a half turn right The engine is getting to Much fuel at high rpm and not enough air so it can’t burn it there for Boggs Low speed needle needs 3/4 turn left Not enough fuel at low speed so no burn
There aren't any high speed needles in this carb. That would be just be swapping out a main jet. He said it happened after a carb clean, so my guess it he bend the tab that sits on the float needle.
carb is cleaned brand new spark plug
hold on rev limiter and clear it out your running your bike to rich ride it faster and more on the limiter or could be due for a top end rebuild
Try setting the idle with the screw knob it should be able to be turned by hand slightly
Then try leaning out the gas abit if that don’t work. Almost sounds like it’s being smothered by something thick like oil.
Turn the choke off
Need to adjust fuel screw and air screw .
1 spark 2 carb issues could be the float height being set too height or the jet being too big

float looks set high and jet might be to big but i’m unsure of stock settinfs

Would not be the plug bc it wouldn’t run if it was even fouled out to the littlest bit it will not run because it’s a two stroke
Mess with the air fuel screw and make sure gas is mixed right I run 32:1 in my 2015 yz85 so that’s 4oz of oil to 5L or a gallon of gas

Could be the front fender but yea the rear is more likely and common 😮
Check where the carb connects to the air box there might be an air leak

If it aint blown check the comprestion and if it aint comprestion check to make sure you're geting the proper amount of fuel to the carb
This is ab what mine did when I was running way too much oil in the gas
Clean the spark plug and when you do that ride the absolute ring out of it other wise you’ll fuck it up

Try putting fresh new gas in it and it sounds like it has too much oil. I have problems like this with my YZ 125 all the time

That’s what my bike was doing and I bought a new carburetor and it work great
Your bike idle could be to low I had that happen
May need re jetted…. 2 year later 😂
Change the gaskets make sure they are in correctly. My new bike had them new and it was backwards at the carb and at the intake
Get a new carb and get a new spark plug
It’s needs to be in power band to blow some of the stuff off the spark plug and out of the engine bc it built up on it
Maybe a gasket or exhaust leak

You most likely need new Reeds
If the jets in your carp is clean and you see a spark when you start it check the filter I am a mechanic
If it’s cold then let it warm up probably clogged if you don’t hit power band so hit power band to unclogg it
Shits probably loading up too much I you idle it for eternity or go slow asf

Give ur carb more airflow by adjusting the air screw just open all the way then cut it in and adjust screw till it runs properly
The main jet or the pilot jet is clogged
mine sounds exactly the same and i commpression tested it turns out i need piston and rings
Change oil and change gas... The air filter also sound like it's getting mad gas in it.
Sounds like your packing is clogged.

Carburetor, clean new spark plugs or or bad mix of two-stroke oil too much oil
check the smoke coming out the back of your exhaust it’s possible you have put too much 2T in with the fuel mix

buy a new plug mine did the same thing and i bought one and it ran brand new
Try running a different oil in ur fuel
Check the carb boot. Make sure no holes, when I first got my bike that’s what was wrong with it
