Almost every single hindustani/Carnatic who are masters in their field are pitch perfect so autotune is not necessary
@@asitis1982 but in modern day studios, specially in bollywood music audio engineers do use autotune or any other pitch correction softwares just to be sure and it also enhances the tone sometimes.

Justin, being in a Sonu Nigam concert is just so awesome. He doesn't lose a beat or a note for the full 2.5 - 3 hours that he continuously keeps singing (and entertaining).. You should definitely attend one, after we are through this covid situation.
He totally broke the song in the last part where he went rogue with his own creation. And still it was incredibly beautiful and melodious. That's why he is Sonu Nigam. You should hear the original song, you will know what he did here. Always a pleasure to hear him live. He is everyone's inspiraion. And yes he chose and mentored Arijit Singh when he was in Fame Gurukul, he immensely admire Sonu ji and so was Shreya Ghoshal when she was in Sa re ga ma pa. Look how incredible they are now.
He was saying that he lost his Mom six months back because of which that year was the saddest one and was describing how beautiful she was; just like everyone's mother is. Also he misses her and loves her and the 'palko k saae' phrase roughly means 'she used to treat him very delicately.' This phrase he uses next, in his song, i.e., just after completing his short narration.

A song like Kal Ho Na Ho is made once in a longtime. This song, the music, the lyrics, even the movie, are outright gorgeous. But Sonu Nigam with his singing has elevated this song to a whole new level.
I've stanned this song since the very first time I heard. I was really young and didn't even understand the meaning of the lyrics but I fell in love with it.
'Kal ho na ho' means 'whether tomorrow comes or not'.
This is the best translation I could do of middle part where he pauses:
I have always been a mother's boy... I lost my mother 6 months back. This is the saddest year of my life. She was very beautiful, the best woman, just like all of your mothers. I want to tell her that I miss her and that I love her. (Couldn't hear next part clearly 'cause it was mumbled a little) ...eyelids ... when someone comes close.
Friendly advice: Sonu is an institute for modern technical music, dear Justin he will be a perfect Guru (Teacher) for you. you can learn so much from him.
I feel that only having skills doesn't make you a great singer. You need to sing from your heart and all the emotions which are carried with the song must be felt by the listeners heart. This is the quality of sonu nigam, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, lata mangeshkar, Sadhna Sargam, Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi etc all the legends of Bollywood which is totally lost nowadays even in Arijit Singh voice is great but you can't feel the emotion in your heart old is gold

You have to understand the meaning of each line to be able to appreciate his singing even more. His expressions are so perfect. The emotion he brings through his singing is absolutely wonderful.. jst tecnical analysis is not enuf in indian songs. Every song has meaning.

@@hamzaxx6722 Bhai, I am talking about all the current singers, Now you would argue that someone like Udit Narayan is better, the thing is that Lata Mangesker jee is old now, Udit Narayan(still better than many Indian singers) is old now, with age your vocal ability and especially the texture fades.... thats why I am saying... Sonu is also aging and is approaching 50, this is the age when a singer is at his/her peak with a good balance between experience, brand value and vocal ability, However, after age 55 or 60, the vocals slowly start to fade owing to old age, although experience keeps on increasing... and yes I do think think that Sonu is senior and also better than Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.... Although he might not be able to sing as high as him but singing isnt about singing high only... Tell me if Rahat Fateh jee could sing the melody above... but Sonu can, up to a decent degree , sing songs like those sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan... and obviously I agree no singer could come even near someone like NFAK, M Rafi or Kishore Kumar..... That was my point of view, I could be wrong...

Kishore Kumar - Khilte Hain Gul Yaha 1972 live ... he is Sonu Nigam’s favourite, one of his idols, and one of the greatest singing legends India ever produced. PLEASE you gotta review him singing live! Not a very great recording quality but still his voice just shines through!

For all the people learning music out there, please listen to sonu nigam carefully. If you understand hindi, also play attention to how he emotes each word.
