- SURFING EPIC SANDSPIT DURING A HISTORIC SWEL. A bombing WNW Swell hit California last week and the buoy readings were the biggest in 15 years according to Surfline.
The surf was so good in California that 11-time WSL champion Kelly Slater surfed Seal Beach. These swells are rare and special. We are stoked Jadon Griffith was there to capture some epic surfing clips in Santa Barbara.
The Wild West swell continues this week! We will be releasing a video from La Jolla Cove and Black's Beach soon. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe to be notified for new videos!

Does anyone enjoy watching sped up surfing?
epic sand spit?? Is this a joke?
Fewest barrels ever in a sandpit video
Epic? You shoulda been there 40 years ago.
Wow It WAS 40 years now.!!!!
I question this. What shape, and surf shaper was your board. Set me in my place. I'm sure people rode it in the 70s . Why not. Imagine what the point looked like before the breakwater. Just like Dana point or the huge jettie at the end of Avila. Can't imagine how it must of wrapped around that point.
That girl you had in your ad videos is my literal surfing arch nemesis
crazy how few views this guy gets for the quality of his videos. Keep up the good work love the videos man
Good but far from epic!
Looks so fun tho!
Altas ondas
It looks lik you just walk to the end of the jetty to surf.
Sucks when all of LA comes to your small town.
It sucks even more when all of SB comes to your town...daily.
Sand burger, hold the spit
Dont believe the Hype
Historic? 5 feet is historic?
You clearly don't know the history of sandspit 🤣
The sandbar they are surfing faces almost due EAST, from a 265-290 degree swell direction. Good luck finding footage of bigger waves breaking on this bar...ever. yes, that is the absolute definition of historic and surfline has written about 69 articles about it
This isn't the peak of the swell but the footage of the night before is the biggest anyone has seen sandspit break. When the surfing veterans in California are reminiscing to 1982 to find a frame of reference, you can call it a historic swell.
that's not 5 feet
I was out it sucked
