It seems that some of you guys wanted me to clearly state that the damage done to Sean’s leg was due to the kick from Vera, which of course was the root cause of the injury…
It seemed to me that the real damage to the ankle was caused from him rolling it, after the damage was done by the kick. We’ve seen lots of people get damaged by that kick but they didn’t roll their ankle as a result.
Same thing happened to Cejudo in his rematch with DJ, and he still went on to win the decision. That was why I referred to it as an injury. Not to discredit the kick landed by Vera.
Respectfully, I’m gonna go out on a limb here (no pun int…) and say that sean never really injured his ankle by rolling it. Chitos kick simply caused dead foot, he went down from that and chito finished him off. We’ve seen lots of people roll their ankle immediately after that nerve deadening the foot but fight through the ankle roll. It’s unfortunate but I think sean is excusing the loss but I can understand. Perhaps, it’s the marketing machine of the ufc placing so much pressure on these fighters through the artificial build up of a superstar narrative. These fighters may feel that weight and say whatever they need to say.
Watch the fight again, my friend.
The kick lands on O’Malley’s right leg at 2:54 on the clock. Sean switches his stance and backs up against the fence. Then he rolls his ankle at 2:44 on the clock.
He spends the next two minutes moving sheepishly on it until he flurries, coming up to :30 seconds left. Vera reaches out for O’Malley’s head and that causes him to lose balance and stumble to the canvas.
Vera then TKO’s him with elbows. O’Malley’s first response following the stoppage is to grab his rolled ankle, not his bruised calf muscle.
There is no excusing the loss on Sean’s part. It was a clear TKO for Vera. Doesn’t me that we can’t dig into the circumstance to fully understand how it played out though.
Thank you for the clarification on your stance.
@iiGoatiiyeah people have no idea who aren’t athletes I mean I can hardly play basketball with a strain in my ankles let alone spraining it because of injuries
Omalley by another peter-yan -robbery-decision. Dan, please, book Ngannou vs Thor at open weight in the PFL; thanks.
Excited for the BSD and Dustin breakdown
How did Dan morph into this refined, well-spoken and sophisticated gentleman from a marauding mohawk straight out of Mad Max? Great vid king, keep em coming!

DAN please breakdown MVP vs Kevin Holland this fight has me more excited than the main event personally
100% agree.
he will. certainly
OMG hyped for it !
simple, MVP is gonna skool him like Wonderboy did unless Holland can take him down. Which Holland likely won't even try just as his EGO showed against Wonderboy
I'm telling you! Saturday can't come quick enough!
The one dislike is Herb Dean
c'mon Herb's a GOAT & u know it
@@ninjamoves3642 never said otherwise
UFC should’ve never let you go. Love your breakdowns, top lad
It amazes me how many analysts still don’t do basic research and are ignorant to common knowledge.
Sean didn’t injure his ankle. It was the nerve in his leg. On top of that, his foot giving out caused him to think it was another serious injury like the injury against Andre Soccermom. He said himself at that point his head wasn’t in the fight.
Secondly, there’s plenty of documentation that going into the 3rd fight with Dustin; Conor’s leg had a stress fracture. So it wasn’t him thinking of the 2nd fight and what damage the kicks did. It was that his leg was already compromised and he didn’t want any serious damage to happen. Literally very easily attainable info to find once you decide you are going to discuss the topics.
Some have seen the kick that damaged Sean's leg. Did you miss that part?
@@uugr3yes, it landed on his Peronial nerve not his ankle
Damn dude! Calm down! I give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he misspoke. I'm positive he knows the history! Either way though.....he should be a commentator not just doing videos for you to enjoy. And if you don't enjoy them, then don't watch and go rage somewhere else.
It amazes me how you hadn’t considered the fact that he was referencing a bonafide injury when he said ankle. I think it’s more likely Dan is referring to his Lisfranc injury which leads to significant foot instability. This makes the ability to recover from foot drop over a short period nearly impossible. Sean’s foot injury led to a weaker ankle a d overcompensation. Lisfranc is a pretty devastating injury bc of how it changes your entire base if it doesn’t heal. He’s dealt with it for a long time.
Based on your comment, there’s is zero way you were aware of this injury. And this injury Sean had is precisely what made that “fluke” shot so effective. It wasn’t a fluke. Clearly chito knew about it. Bc of the injury history. Chito AND his teammate he trained with BOTH within a span of 70 days triggered a foot drop in their opponent. That’s no accident. Again this is bc of said injury. So I think it’s you who needs to do their research.
But that’s me giving Dan the benefit of the doubt. Only bc he’s spoken about the nerve in the past so one can’t say he’s unaware, whereas you didn’t even know Sean had a lower limb injury clearly.
He literally rolls his ankle badly and falls down a few seconds after the kick to the nerve caused the drop foot. They’re directly related, rolling your ankle is a common risk for people with drop foot. That obviously injured his ankle so idk why you’re so mad
[7:29] Goddamn. That photo of Frankie (literally) eating Chito's Benjamin Button frontkick and morphing into Grampa Simpson is still just as brutal as the first time I saw it. Who would've thought Chito's toes could cause the worst case of "bitter beer face" imaginable?
Why do some people insist on saying Sean O'Malley injured his ankle like he did it fighting himself ?
Yeah man didn’t even do his research 😅
Both of these guys like to fight at their own pace which is very slow and calculated, so this isn't going to be the firefight that a lot of people think it's going to be.
suga vs moutinho broke output records.
@@smashypeoplebecause the kid was letting omalley play handball with his face
@@smashypeopledon’t forget Sean couldn’t even knock him out though … and he took a bunch of shots too. That was not impressive at all
@@kevingeorge7843Sean was dribbling in between combos lol
I had this same thought today. A point fight I'd imagine. Sean has slow starts as well, especially if he's anticipating this going long.
Suga styles on Chito for 3 rds then leg kicks to a decision after realizing Chito’s made of vibranium.
Sean hardly leg kicked what are you talking about? He was head hunting from the beginning to the end. Casual.
@@bighoss4743 Yes, I am a causal. If I was a real fan I would be able to see a WHOLE WEEK into the future then give a detailed play-by-play of the fight. If only my MMA knowledge was as vast as yours, Mr/Ms Bighoss. I tip my hat to you.
CLUTCH!!!
“Psychic Warfare!!” Great album!! Your breakdowns have always been spot on, and that being said you are the pro!… But in all honesty, I think Sean O’Malley is going to surprise a lot of people with his grappling, especially if him and Chito get into grappling situations… Let’s not forget , He submitted Gomi , 3 yrs ago,, and his history at the lab in Arizona is showing up as a kickboxer and primarily training wrestling and jujitsu there for the last decade or so.. I’m excited for this match, and looking forward to the AFTERMATH !! 🤘🏻
Dan rocking the "Clutch" t shirt...new fan? They got some amazing stuff
I saw them live at the Whiskey in Hollywood about 12 years ago and have been hooked since!
Seen Clutch in 95 out here in Detroit, such a great show!
95 in Wichita; I hadn't heard of them, a brother said "You're going to like these guys".... I couldn't believe how good they were! Perfect venue, held about 200. They played there soon after Marilyn Manson; thank you Clutch for clearing out that energy!! 😁

Best breakdowns in the business.🙏❤
Real intriguing rematch. Thanks Dan
Excellent breakdown as always.
THANK YOU DAN !
Best fight break downs out there . Good stuff bro ✌️
Love the Clutch shirt Dan!
I was looking forward to this take.
Love the breakdown Dan 🤌
Yes love the warroom veeakdowns
Man left me wanting more . Thats no fair
And again ,
if the Chito shows up who fought Sandhagen ,
it'll be a walk in the park for Suga !
Literally.. that Chito shows up every fight.
Sean is at his best when his opponent is moving forward and pushing the pace that way he can counter. Chito tends to sit back and not do much so it might frustrate Sean cause he won’t give him what he wants. This fight could either be very fun or very boring.
Dan - always a great breakdown. Do you think this being a full sized cage will aid O'Malley? Their first fight was at the Apex, which is a smaller case.
Sean didnt hurt his ankle. Chito hurt Seans ankle.
Dan is best watched at 1.25x speed lol
Once you notice how slow the cadence of his voice is, you can’t unsee it.
@@WarBrahSame 😂
him on 1.25x sounds like the speed of a normal person
Wtf I never noticed this before
@@hashling8 bro 💀 Dan's quality of speech didn't diminish as a result of his fighting career and the multiple shots to the head, but the speed of it did for sure...
I’m riding with Chito, he doesn’t deserve the shot, but I don’t see Suga being able to get him out of there and over 5 Chito is gonna land, I reckon Sean’s footwork will slow in the champ rounds and Chito will get him out of there.
I see O’Malley securing a victory by point fighting and winning clinches/grappling exchanges. However, chito is a tough, durable veteran who has power late in the fight. Chito can land some nasty shots on O’Malley if his jab has let those opportunities arise.
You got Poirier vs Mcgregor backwards 😁
Sean doesn’t throw a lot of elbows or cut people up so the damage isn’t that obvious until your asleep. I hear he is better than Chito on the ground and that’s really what I want to see. But if he KHTFO I would be just as happy.
How is he better on the ground if Chito finished him there?
Hearing he is better than chito on the ground isn’t credible at all and we know how chito is on the ground, he’s got submissions on his record, he’s way more advanced on the ground and his understanding of positions, awareness is levels ahead of suga. I think chito has the advantage clearly on the ground, his G & P game is filthy, suga wants nothing of it.
@@WilliamC84 Facts and he finished Suga already on the ground. The UFC and O’ Malley are trying to discredit that win from Chito, but the footage doesn’t lie. Chito whooped him the first time. Talking about a freak accident, lmao. My boy Suga you wasn’t in a science lab explosion! You got leg kicked and the kick did the damage that it was intended to do and you couldn’t recover, simple as that. But not only that, when the fight went to the ground you could have you know, fought off of your back like a mixed martial artist; to buy some time and recover. But Chito put him to sleep with a couple of elbows. Cejudo had the same thing happen to him against DJ, but you know what he recovered and made adjustments. Adesanya suffered the same fate but he also recovered and fought unto the 5 round, and made it to the end of that round. Fighters get hurt, champions overcome.
@@phantompunch7768 You are mentally crippled if you think he intended to hit his nerve with that calf kick lol. He intended to do damage with it, yes. He absolutely got lucky by hitting the nerve and causing the drop foot. The only reason he got the ground and pound finish was because Suga couldn't get up.
@@christopherdesousa7936 You’re mentally crippled if you think anything that happens in there is luck. He trains to hurt his opponents and that’s what he did. It doesn’t matter if it was the first kick or not. That’s like saying Mcgregor Knocking out Aldo in 13 seconds is luck or Aldo Tkoing Cub Swanson in 7 seconds luck. If you get hurt from the first couple of strikes that’s on you. Chito didn’t what he was supposed to do, that’s not luck. He went in there to hurt O’ Malley and he did end of story.
break down the entire card please that would be excellent man
It’s a pattern now with Suga, Soukhamthath and then Chito. Chito would be crazy to not target the calf again from the get go.
omalley's gonna dismantle him
100% Chito is mediocre af.
@@nn-NeuralNetworky’all are sleeping on chito. It’s not gonna be as easy as aldo nor as tough as petr

Great breakdown
Love the type on the T-Shirt.
Dan you gotta do the best fight on the card, yan vs song.
Dan still one of the best analysts in the game, knows his stuff for sure, does the hours upon hours of research and breaks it down like a pro. Solid piece of work.
I don't even watch the ufc fight breakdowns now he's left. Got two yanks doing it now in there over dramatic and enthusiastic way.
chito is very Durable , Round four TKO if Sean doesn't end it early , Chito is d hungry one here !
Great insight, also though your logo needs to stand out more to get more views imo.
Sweet shades Dan! 😎
Nice shirt Danny Boy!
Seeing what strickland did to izzy, I can definitely see chito slowly walking down sean.
I feel we'll see O'Malley use a bit of wrestling. He & his coach have hinted it's good & they wanna show it. Also wonder if Chito pushes a pace that'll actually tire Sean out even over 5.
Great breakdown but that first calf kick was on the other leg.
Your mind for the game is something I’ve always admired and respected. You’re a legend brother!
Thank youu!!
O'malley hits harder bro , he won most of his fights because he hits harder.... petr yan , sterling , contender series. O'malley Knockout :) good breakdown as always though :)
Chito always seems happy to let a fight get away from him and the knockout doesn't always come.
This is gonna be a walk for Sean. Sean has the power, footwork, and etc. He has improved way more than Chito has which I feel has peaked already. Chito has been unable to rise to the occasion against the top guys in the division. Sean landed the more damaging shots in the first fight against Chito even the legs kicks until the nerve was kicked. Either way, I got Sean winning by DEC and I think he will shock some people with some wrestling/grappling. Seen in his snapchat that he's been heavily training grappling for this fight it seems.
Things said consecutively in this video:
- “I just feel like O’Malley will be landing more, but Chito will land the harder shots”
- “I just remember Chito getting hit a lot but somehow still managing to bully his opponent” (never gives an example)
- “Like I said before, Chito doesn’t have a problem losing until he wins”
All said back to back. We all know O’Malley will probably be the more active striker, because he needs to keep distance. But “losing until you win” and walking forward getting hit isn’t “bullying” anyone. It’s relying on your chin because your opponent has you beat everywhere else.
good stuff
I love dan hardy
I really hope that you make Yan vs Song breakdown.
i dont see vera rising to the occasion to win a championship fight
Which sucks because he seemed so damn game a few fights ago
@@phalsparhe's declining slowly. No improvement
@@BlizzyFizzyMissMeWTBullshitI don’t know what changed really, but he’s fallen into the “Lose until I Win” mentality it seems
@@BlizzyFizzyMissMeWTBullshit He definitely lacked something in the Sandhagen and Pedro fights. Maybe Pedro is just better than we think, but it's also possible Vera isn't as good as he's hyped. Even if he wins Sandhagen is gonna be his boogieman.
Agreed, but because of who it's against may be the difference. No one wants to get beat by a rainbow warrior.
Dan who has the highest knockdown ratio that you have covered?
Is anyone else more excited for this card than 300?
Chito,Holland,Dustin ,Burns
Not a big fan of either guy...but, hoping we're in for a good fight. May the best man win.
That green haired dude is a real legend because Sean couldn't finish him..we've seen him put guys to sleep with much less than he tagged that guy with 😂
Still shots in and playback of footage out... What changed? Dan used to use rolling footage for examples, wonder did Dana or the UFC put a stop to him using their footage, if so, Dan needs to work with BT (TNT) to access their rights to the footage and use it in his breakdowns.
You’re forgetting one other CRUCIAL difference between Chito and Sean….Chito can literally take a facial beating and not have a scratch whereas when Sean gets hit, he wears it like a normal human - remember his face after fighting Peter Yan?!?! That factor plays in the eyes of the judges BIG TIME!
It sure didnt in the strickland du Plessis fight so idk about that mattering.
Yeah it was covered In yans blood
Chito is getting TKO'D it's not going 5 😊
As cool as it would be for chito to knock suga out, suga has just been looking so darn slick his last few fights. I don’t see chito winning this one.
O’Malley injured his ankle ? If I remember correctly, o’Malley‘s so called injury was caused by a leg kick from Chito ! Yea, that’s the way it happened !
2nd round tko omaley or decison after 5.Thats if omaley boney legs hold up
The old intro audio is better
I really feel that is where Chito will shine. Sean really never had to deal a legit pressue fighter yet who was actually good. If Chito can kill that distance this fight is going to be interesting as all fuck
Of course Dan is a Clutch fan. Nice.
No one is addressing the fact Sean has weak ankles… dude constantly rolls/ tweaks his ankles in fights.
Sean didn’t injure his ankle. Chito took out that limb then chito slept him with elbows then the ref saved sean. People make it sound like Chito didn’t cause those chain of events. They make it sound like it was a random freak accident sean caused himself.
I think toughness might be the difference in this fight. Chito is just a rough dude who takes shots like they’re nothing, while O’Malley has been hurt bad before by Yan and seems more fragile.
Vera could be getting beat up for 4 rounds and still knock out Sean (or at least hurt him bad to find a finish) with a couple of shots out of nowhere. Sean will have to play it smart and outpoint Vera like Sandhagen did.
I’d be surprised if O’Malley manages to knock down Chito, he seems to just absorb punches without damage.
Sandhagen should avoid some folks till he gets the belt...i think he really has what it takes to be champ in that division but he has to "play the game"
Great band t shirt I see dan
Best in the biz
Kyuss t-shirt next!
Can Dan no longer show clips of the fights for the breakdown?
Did you watch the last fight? It wasn’t an ankle injury - he hit his nerve and caused drop foot.
Which lead to an injury
I’m just here for the band T’s
I think chito is a bad match up for Sean. He's just too durable and will win over the long haul. I'm routing for Sean but I can't help but see it that way.
I hope chito is active and doesn’t fight so passively because if it goes to judges it’s omallys.
I say O'Malley takes it over a very close fight. Split Decision.
And if that happens, W by split decision, Chito will suddenly be "better" than everyone thought. 😮😄
imo, it will show that OMalley isn't as good as "everyone" thought. 😁
Even though I'd like to see Chito get the W, ya gotta take that belt from the champ, not by narrow decision... too narrow should go to the champ.
Everything about this fight tells you Sean should win it, but I remember years ago Vera said he would be a champion, and it's not about if it's about when with Ilia Topuria confidence.
Was wondering who Dan might pick.... sometimes he talks up 1 guy & then picks the other guy. And im like, no no stick with what you're saying 😁 (he couldn't say enough about Ilia & then picked Volk. I picked Ilia for all the reasons Dan said 😄) Im wondering, is Chito as hungry as Ilia? I want him to be, bc im picking him. 😂

please do bsd vs poirier war room
When does he talk about O’ Malley? Bro talked about Chito the entire time

Sean O'Malley didn't hurt his ankle. Chito did.
When he hurt his ankle? lmao
Chito kicked him to he calf and hit hit the perennial nerve, Sean admitted this multiple times... it's a fair square tko
my comment was sarcasm. guy in video said ankle and I was expecting him to say perennial nerve@@ELIROCKSYOSOCKS
I'm very surprised you say "ankle injury"'. Any other fight you'd say the other fighter caused the injury. but here... . Chito kicked his peronial nerve and it turned off. Making O'Malley a sitting duck. So yes an injury, but caused by the other fighter
