Jackie, you are a beautiful soul, and incredibly talented. I hope more and more people get to appreciate your music, and that you continue to stay true to yourself. We love you for who you are. Your music and talent is a gift to the world.
I have been a fan of Jackie's since the very beginning on AGT. It has been a privilege to watch her develop as a person and as an artist. With the release of "Behind My Eyes" Jackie has again shown a more mature side of her talent. Thanks to all who were involved with the filming of this video. We are looking forward to the release of more original music from Jackie.
Always looking forward for your beautiful voice to heard, you are my angel. Losing my wife in 2010 just 1 hours before your semi finals performance on AGT, it’s your beautiful voice and yourself that keeps me going and a reason to wake up each day, Bless you Jackie
What a beautiful song Jackie, I've been a fan of you from the beginning. I'm glad that you are getting to write and perform the type of music you want to now.
I am going to state the obvious - - - - there is a real talent here. I'd like to take this song and write an arrangement for brass band. I think it would soar.
Jackie's original music is categorized Alternative pop. Alt-pop has broad appeal but created by independent artist outside the mainstream, or considered more original, eclectic or more challenging than mainstream pop. Behind My Eyes is currently being played on Adult Contemporary radio, presently #18 on the Mediabase AC Top 50 chart.

Sure, you know better than the professionals what genre Jackie is writing in. I was sitting at a Wendy's this song came on the radio I wasn't even into the song a few seconds when I knew I had to find the name of the artist. It's such a catchy tune give me an 80s sort of vibe fell in love with it immediately
@monkeysquashface I am in love with her, the voice is beautiful too, yes! And her face and her eyes, and her shape and her nose even. Jackie is an 11/10

Talent, appearance, presence, and good looks are recipes for enduring acceptance and approval as a non-threatening gift to her audience... Jackie has it all.
Both songs have the same common drum pattern that has been used in thousands of rock and jazz songs. It is used in a few other songs on Jackie's EP of original music. Jackie listened to music of the 80s with her dad while growing up. "It's the way I write", she says, and it suits the themes of her original songs.
@@marisanielsen3770 "Virtually the same melody" may be your off-hand impression, but listening to the isolated vocal of True Faith, one can easily realize the melodies are different. You certainly are not going to convince anyone who is musically literate that Jackie's song is in any way the same........The only similarity, as I said, is the drum pattern. The drum beat used in Jackie's song is the basic rock beat and most common drumming pattern you'll ever hear.....kick drum on the first and 3rd beat, accent rim-shot snare on the 2nd and 4th beat with hi-hat tapping the eighth notes. Even then, the only thing that is the same in both songs is the strong accent on the 2nd and 4th beat. LISTEN instead of making a false claim based on immediate presumption. Thank you Jackie! Awesome song and video! Your artistic ability and talent is evident in this song and video. Congratulations for allowing your talent to shine in what you choose to sing and create!
Hi Jackie ! My dad and I just saw your performance last Thursday in San Francisco. You guys were so awesome 👏. You have a great voice! Thanks for the good time ! From: Estuardo & Mario Ruedas.
Jackie, I've been a fan since "To Believe" which is more than 10 years ago. Seeing the beautiful young woman that you are today reminds me of that little girl who has come a long journey! Loved the song! So proud of you and hope there's more to come in your career 💙
Use your ears and your brain. Different key, different melody, different chorus, different chord progression, different bass line.......All you're listening to is the drum beat which is a standard drum pattern used in countless rock and jazz songs. Here: Kick drum on 1st and 3th beat, rim shot accent on snare 2nd and 4th beat, continuous tapping on high hat.
Oh, Jackie!!!! Wow! This is such an intriguing and creatively expressed video showing on so many levels the struggles of dealing with mental health issues. It's all here, visually for us to see and to also recognize under the surface, too. I am sure that many people will be able to relate to this song (if they hadn't already heard it earlier) and its visual presentation. One thing I especially appreciate is how it effectively brings out the contrasts so often present in life, but which are especially difficult in day-to-day life with one or more mental health problems. You and your videographer wonderfully captured the rapidity of how moods can change, how behaviors and thoughts can suddenly be altered with what feels like the flip of a switch, how at one point the world seems grey and drab, colorless, but then suddenly -- BOOM!! -- springs into full-on, vivid color. (Sometimes too vivid?) I had wondered how the part in the song about "things lurking in the dark" that "like to leave a mark inside of you" would be visually interpreted and I love the way this is done, and the colorless origami "birds" floating around in a dreamy sequence, not quite in touch with reality..... with eventually one, somehow carefully on its own in a protective cage, finally displaying some color, standing out, waiting to be noticed, trying to say in a different way, "hey, I'm here, but I'm my own person!" a small origami bird becoming a sign of hope, even while perhaps not making the healthiest choices, taking the healthiest options, knowing instinctively that finding and somehow establishing control over something that then could move to the next step and beyond that there was something much greater to reach for and to cherish and with which to work towards a healthier, happier future. I also love how you brought into this video more of your own creativity by showing us you at work painting, creating something new, and then maybe once again struggling and feeling the impulse to destroy it but then, thankfully, happily, allowing one beautiful creation to keep shining through and by gently plucking it, rescuing it from the confusion and struggles. It's lovely...... Keep moving forward, Jackie! You're confronting those "things lurking in the dark" and while they may still leave a mark or try to do so, you are also figuring out how to not let that hurt you, how to ignore that (often negative, potentially destructive) mark and move on finding and celebrating your own identity and your own creativity and ability to present gifts to offer the world, in your own time and your own way....
Nothing like replying to my own message but I forgot to include and mention (and decided that actually this was worth an additional comment rather than simply editing the original post) that for people who have struggled with eating disorders, the (origami) bird in the golden cage also can be viewed as symbolic and has special meaning. Many years ago Hilde Bruch wrote a book which was important and quite significant at that time, as she explored the then still-mysterious world of eating disorders and the (decidedly limited) treatment of anorexia nervosa available . Thankfully years have passed, times have changed, much research and day-to-day more actual hands-on work with many people living with an ED, so there are options available now. Most importantly, while that bird can and may possibly remain trapped in that cage forever, it does really does have options: there is a door in that cage which opens and allows the bird to fly free and, over a period of hard work and struggle, regain health and happiness.
