Okay but let's talk how this brings such peace, enjoyment, nostalgia, and all of it wrapped up in such a light-hearted story. Truly amazing! Congratulations, PJ!!
this short screams pj :,) the style is so him plus the animal crossing / pokémon vibes i get from the characters. the scenery is very ghibli esc and the sound design is so well done. the character designs are incredible. i’m loving this so much.
This is so freaking cute!! The soundtrack is absolutely adorable and emotional. Also the crystal whale is my FAVE. Sometimes all you need is a word of encouragement to help you on your way. Such a cute film and I can tell how much time went into it!!
I love how... he is lost, taken from the place where he is happy and what he knows. He's scared and alone. But he makes friends, he has fun, he does some good, and is changed visibly from his journey. And when he is rescued by the ship captain (who looks kinda familiar, did PJ have a character like that before? 🤔 ), he sees all these other lost buoys, and realizes we all get a little lost some times, but we make it back home eventually, if changed.
This is so phenomenal!!! Animating water is one of the trickiest things ever and PJ has absolutely nailed it! The attention to detail is incredible and even though it's a whole new software, it's absolutely recognisable as PJ's lovable art style :) the music is perfect too 👌
The level of detail in this is so brilliant and impressive, I love it so much! Those facial expressions on the buoy, the detail in the town, the location flags, the matching with the music.... Absolutely brilliant, so well done!
this short is so unmistakeably Pj i'm going to cry. the shapes, the colours, the animation, the music... it's all so incredibly sweet! i feel like being able to make things like this and enjoy them tremendously is a part of what makes us human. waiting to see where your creativity takes you next time, Peej!💚
OH MY HEART! I didn't realize how heartwarming and beautiful it would be. The whole journey and the story, so so lovely! And that's not the only journey there was, PJ your 3D skills have IMMENSELY improved, I can't believe it! This film gave me joy! Great job, guys!
PJ this might actually be the cutest thing I've ever seen, I love it! The detail is amazing, I especially love the little droplets of water on the buoy and the ripples in the sea. Amazing work from all of you, well done 😁
Having been watching your Blender progress on stream, I am astounded by how far you’ve come and how amazing this looks. The buoy’s facial expressions kill me. He’s so cute! Very well done, PJ. This is a work of art.
This made me start crying by the end with the old man, the small town, the positive music. I love the zelda inspiration, the homie vibes... so beautiful. Incredible...
You have mad skills, PJ. The way that you’ve mastered animating in this style is insane and truly unique. Thanks for being inspiring and creating such amazing stories.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, I could picture this type of short films before a Pixar movie! So impressed by the way you portrayed so many types of weather, locations and most importantly ANIMALS! such a poignant story despite minimal dialogue. your talent is amazing
PJ, this was amazing; from de 3d modelling to the production to the sound design, and most importantly, the story. I really hope you know you made a masterpiece
I can’t get over how nice the colors look & how smooth the animation is. AMAZING WORK, PJ! As a film student with a background in animation who has constantly been inspired so much by PJ Liguori, sincerely this is amazing.
i can't tell you how much i relate to the little buoy:") sometimes you get lost and things might never go back to how they used to, but never give up, there's always more chances to build a home no matter where you end up in life
Following your creative journey in 3D animation during Twitch streams and on Patreon is very inspiring and proves that combining hard work with a strong creative vision results in creation of great things like this film. Amazing work, super proud of you!
This… was incredible. The story is SO sweet I am in love with this sweet little buoy and all of his friends along the way 🥹 PJ the styling and story and really, really satisfying animation styles - it’s truly amazing. You are so talented, I can’t wait to see more! For now, I will rewatch this adorable adventure 🤩
I'm am staggered by the progress you've made! You should be incredibly, INCREDIBLY proud. There are so many details in there that show such love, care and attention. The fact that the water surface looks different depending on the weather, the closeness to shore, the climate! You didn't just slap a noise texture onto a bump node, you actually went through the effort of making sea foam, water droplets, and ripples. This was a joy to watch all the way through, so glad to see your whimsy and charm be explored in a new medium!
Great short film and all, but can we talk about the incredible voice acting for that seagull? /lh Seriously though, this is so heartwarming and beautiful and visually stunning and just??? I loved it so much, and it's really really hard to believe you started learning blender so recently. You're a wonder, Peej!
This evoked the same feelings of a Disney short or Pixar intro. I felt invested in the story, I was sad, happy, and a few other things. I love it! I hope to see more 💙
amazed and in awe at every scene, every big landscape and small detail, it looks incredible. your hard work and storytelling flair really shines through! I'm so so enchanted by this lovely little world and its adorable characters - every time a new character appears I get endeared and miss them once they're gone, and then I fall in love with the next...! and ofc the absolute sweetest, most expressive little buoy
I have never been so emotionally invested in an inanimated 3d rendered object in my life! I'm so happy to see you back with a short film!!! I loved it so much!! Even though it's in a completely different medium from your life-action short films, there's always this whimsical element that just screams PJ! Thank you for this master piece!!
Im a vfx artist so I know how hard this wouldve been. You executed it very well. I like that while ambitious, you're playing to your strengths and not overextending yourself. The simplicity of the characters and animation help focus the story and emotions as well, so I think you've executed it perfectly for a relatively new starter to cg stuff.
I absolutely adore the detailed sound design and score!! It’s amazing how you’ve captured cuteness alongside such a wide range of emotions without dialogue. So proud of this film and your talents PJ!!!
Peej and Sophie! This was so incredible. I loved all the cute expressions, colors, music, warm feels. The little baby bird stole my heart. Well done!! 🧡
you worked so long and hard on this and it really shows! i am absolutely in love with the bouys expressions and all the different sceneries! this made me so calm and was so beautiful!!
Pj, I have loved your journey in animation. Your talent never ceases to amaze me. In 10 minutes, yo manage to give us a wide variety of emotions through beautiful story telling as well as your thoughtful and captivating imagery. Great work!
Wow PJ this was beautiful. From the visuals to the sound design to the story everything was crafted so well and clearly with a lot of love ❤️ Gorgeous short film
pj this is so incredible . i have been watching your channel for about 10 years and it has been wonderful seeing how much your work has grown. keep it up :)
This.... is brilliant. I can't even imagine the hard work and time put into this, it's absolutely lovely! This. is. Quality! Can't wait for more, all the best on this long animation journey!
How does this not have more views??!? Absolutely beautiful, PJ. I’m astonished with how much work went into this. It’s my 3-y-o niece’s new favorite short film (mine too). ❤️❤️❤️
This gave me such a “watching Saturday morning cartoons while eating sugary cereal before I go to the park” vibes. Thanks for the nostalgia hit and the cuteness of this. Loved it ❤️
PJ, this is astounding. watching you make so much progress in such a short time has been so incredible and fun and I’m so floored by this. your hard work definitely paid off! this is great! I’ve never been so emotionally attached to a buoy lol
Absolutely beautiful! I remember watching PJ shorts in middle school and now I've just started college. I can relate to that little amazing buoy and I love him!! Really lovely story, thank you
There’s so many things I LOVE about this short. I love how it reflected different themes that have come up during the pandemic and through life in general like what it’s like to feel alone and excluded, building resiliency through hardship, coming together to help community members in need, and ensuring everyone belongs because they do. I especially love your choice of landscape because my home’s landscape is very similar so when you pair that with those themes it really hit home for me on another level. Easily one of my favourite projects that you’ve done; the animation is gorgeous, the story is timeless, and you can feel the love you, Sophie, and the rest of the team have put into it. Congratulations again on this jewel and I look forward to watching it again ☺️🎉👏!!
This film is amazing! The animation and sound track mesh so beautifully! After hearing about how much time and effort you put into this I think it looks fantastic. I’m proud of you, i know how tough this was. Can’t wait to see even more in the future. I hope Canadia is great 😁
Omfg everything about this, the character designs, the environments, the lil sounds the sound track, it's all so precious and so well done!!! Absolutely stunning work here
This is amazing. So peaceful. You can see the work that went in. I especially love how realistic the way water looks on the buoy. Such a good aesthetic. Amazing music too. Wonderful!
i remember when pj first started blender and was talking about how it rekindled his want to make art. seeing how now he’s made this entire short (which is so adorable by the way!) is so inspiring and encouraging to keep following one’s creativity. pj will always be my biggest artistic role model fr :)
PJ this is incredible! The short has the adorable vibe but you definitely feel sad when buoy is lost at sea. And how the whale gives good wishes to buoy made me tear up! This is so well put together and I enjoyed watching every second! It’s so good, I know the kids I babysit will love it on the tv!
This is absolutely incredible. I can't even image how much work this must have taken! The animation of the ocean particularly is amazing. And I actually cried in the penguin part. Storytelling is incredible, especially given it has so little dialogue. Sound work - amazing. Don't even have words for the animation. Congratulations PJ and all of the team, this is so, so good.
What a refreshing little film! I absolutely needed this especially after a day of misfortune. Not only that, this is very nostalgic for some reason... Maybe that's because in today's film and media, wholesomeness isn't praised as much anymore. Edgy, nuanced and existential contents are more popular or sought after by the majority. This brings me back to those times where a cute film is simply that... Cute and chill. Without any dark twists and turns that traumatizes an impressionable mind (well, mainly me 'cause I get scared easily). Thanks, PJ!
I am so in love with this. The style, the character designs, the sounds design, the lighting, the story... it is all just so perfect. Absolutely one of the best short films I have ever had the pleasure of watching 😊
Loved it! Gosh, you've improved so much in blender and I'm so glad to see your characteristic story-telling style again. So cute, so heartwarming and it really shows you don't have to be a complete professional to create a beautiful story. Keep it up, dude!
This is so lovely! Not only the animation quality and obvious skill that went into this, but also the love! This is so sweet and touching and I had a smile on my face at the ending.
Knowing the story behind this video from PJ's newest video makes this story so meaningful. Watching this was a very emotional, wholesome and hopeful journey. And the visuals are absolutely amazing, it reminded me of a Pixar animation
Gah, this is amazing! It feels so whimsical, peaceful, and quintessentially PJ - this awe and wonder I always feel when seeing your creations. It's actually been a long time since I've caught up with your channel because life happens, but it's like I stepped back into the same welcoming KickthePJ world with some new things to explore. The short 3D clips I did catch (Lullaby cube, anyone?) were a nostalgic throwback to your earlier videos yet in a new art style...Didn't realize it was a new medium or how quickly you picked up Blender! I am so so impressed by your progress & dedication that culminated into this short film. Congrats Peej and everyone who helped make this happen!
absolutely precious and also OH MY GOODNESS this looks AMAZING!!! after watching you put out all your little shorts to come around with this??? Nothing short of incredible

JUST SAW THE CREDITS??? YOU ANIMATED THIS YOURSELF??? HOLY SHIT??? D:
This made me start crying by the end with the old man, the small town, the positive music. I love the zelda inspiration, the homie vibes... so beautiful. Incredible...
I’m loving the Wind Waker references throughout this short, it’s all so lighthearted and sweet. Really well done!
