But the anime surely did it justice, from the visuals to the first ed in the anime playing in the background. Perfection.

Its good you did appreciated it.. Memories is the best love letter for the OGs (i started OP reading the manga back in the 2001 along the anime) "HE LAUGHED!!!!!" WE CRIED!!!!!!!! that chapter in the manga... it broke me like glass but when they played memories on the anime it destroyed me... i turned into sand...
Seeing this for the first time after watching for 20 years, this was one of my most looked forwarded moments and one of my favorites parts.
Dude this episode, this chapter was for people like us who have went through the entire journey from the start. This is my top example for a reason why One Piece's length works to its benefit. Seeing the Roger pirates go through the same journey that the Straw Hats did, all of the lore, all of the nostalgia and the feelings of pure joy at the end. We were able to make a much deeper connection due to being on this long winding journey from the start. I'm so excited to see the Straw Hats' reaction when they reach Laugh Tale too (Whenever that may be)

It’s funny because some of the earliest translations read Laugh Tale, but everyone thought it was wrong so they began translating it as Raftel.
So is nobody gonna address that the manga literally says that Buggy unironically caught the I-absolutely-cannot-go-to-that-island disease?

Unfortunately, it's fake translation by fan scan/leaker. The original text didn't mention that disease at all
That disease didnt happend near laugh tale. So its not because of there is something with the Island and df. I think that oda is cooking something with buggy and laugh tale. There is a different reason for buggy not reaching that island
That translation is obviously wrong since buggy really wants to go to the island.

I love that he was soo nonchalant about his disease, and wanted to spend his timed moments not depressed. But with his crew to find the final island. Even in his final moments he was laughing. Man I love his character. I would literally watch a whole show just about Roger.😭

Oden's devotion to Toki of putting her well-being over his adventuring dream was very admirable. You really wouldn't think of that from someone who started a Harem War in Wano.
Also, with the kind of spouse-relationship Oden has & acts for Toki, makes you wonder where Momonosuke gets his pervy-side from (he might be more Kin'emon's son than actually Oden's)
Momo's pervy side seems perfectly in line with the son of Kozuki "Hide your daughter, your wife and your mama" Oden, who started a Harem War. He's just lacking the rizz, as the kids say.
There is something I love so much about this flashback. We learn so much about this last island and the One Piece, while also not learning much and rising even more question about it.

dude roger said 'its such a funny story' they also mentioned that they learned everything about the world at that point, 'how could u leave this stupendous treausure'(for anyone else to witness?). i think what joyboy left is a joke. i think he managed to tell what happened either during the void history or everything that has been happening till now(predicted?), he tells it as a joke and its funny because its true. the punchlie(when u r at the end of the story) could be something he made and left using his df awakening. and maybe its something that only another user could interact with. idk what it might be, but they seemed to understand it right away.

What if joyboy wrote binks sake and there's another part that no one knows where he tells the whole story. They are laughing and hugging each other just like luffy and the others when they sing bink's sake. Maybe there's a tone dial that lets you listen to joyboy and his crew singing it

One Piece is the greatest manga of all time and you can't change my mind. I read this manga since i'm 6 years old. And EVERYTIME i watch or read this scene or Roger laughing, I cried. And i'm gonna cry when Luffy is going to find the One Piece and become the King Of Pirates. I love One Piece so much.

The joke with Genghis Baan, if you don't know, is not only the "baa"n. Jingisukan (Genghis Khan) is a Japanese dish made from grilled lamb over veggies. The history behind it I kinda forgot but it has something to do with Mongols and lambs.

There is a theory based on a japanese folklore that says that "Binks no Sake" is telling what happened in the Void century and it's directly connected to Imu-sama and those shadow figures we saw in Thriller Bark. The theory says that they are all demons and if you cross their path you have to give them a gift and usually this gifts comes in barrels full of Sake and someone named Binks in the past didn't gave the demons the present so Joyboy had to deliver the the gift (Deliver Binks sake) but he failed because of the Celestial families. That's why the demons took over the world and that's why it's a funny story because, if you think about, the World Governemt and the Celestial Dragons exists because some demons didn't get their booze lol

When they go to Skypea, it's not just a random city in the clouds. It's a nation with rich culture, history, and many characters we know about. Same for the other places. They are all much more meaningful because of the time we spent on them.

I started One Piece in 2006, that means about 18 years ago, when I watched this scene in the anime when the chapter released I was crying because it was the very first time that I realized that the journey would eventually end one day. While Roger laughed, I cried :')

I think you misunderstood a point during their trip to Zou. Roger didnt just "figured out" about the Road Poneglyph. Cat Viper and Dog Storm explained that, at Lode Star Island, the last island they could reach with the Log Pose, they would learn about Poneglyphes and Road Poneglyphes. But since the mugis had Robin, and also that they reached Zou and earned their trust, they no longer "need" to go to Lode Star Island, since this is all what they'll find there : That it isn't the last island and that Poneglyphes are actually important and that they need to find them. So they already started the quest that they were supposed to unlock at Lode Star Island.
