Great job getting them on the lures, Mate! What I've been doing lately (if the crabs are a problem) is to replace my stinger hook with a Surf Popper. That helps to float the bait off the bottom, away from the crabs.
Great video as usual Steve…..that cook up was sensational. I was up early this morning and trimming down some salmon fillets for the Bride in preparation for a Salmon Patty cook up later today. Some excellent sized “eating” salmon this morning and to see the clean flesh once the darker meat is trimmed only shows what a little care of the catch and knife skills can accomplish. Tight Lines mate.
A little perseverance and effort and u usually get rewarded, great conditions except for the crabs 🦀 , and the Cook-up well that was another mouth watering 1 Steve 😋, Keep up the amazing work and Tight Lines 👍 🎣. Where abouts did u get the long legs for ur Drone please, I bought myself a cheap Drone but the rear blades nearly sit on the ground with an inch of clearance which is no good when i make a hook rig like u have done, Monkey see Monkey do for me 🤣🐒
@huntindownunder1 few years ago I bought a cheap bait dropper from ebay. The dropper didn't work, but it came with the leg extensions. So it wasn't a total loss.
Nice job switching things up, it worked for you. I have yet to try a lure while beach fishing, think I need to get another rod to give that a try. Question for you on the Salmon, what size do you find best when you cook them up? Thanks in advance and dinner looked nice. Cheers!
@LarrysFishing my favourite size range for eating Salmon is 35 to 45cm.. In my opinion they're better tasting, and more succulent. Having said, I had a bigger one earlier this year (52cm) and it proved me wrong... it was good. But sometimes the the bigger ones can be tough and dry. I brain spike them and bleed them immediately if I'm going to eat them. And definitely cut away all dark/blood meat! Thanks Larry 👍

@Johan-ex5yj mate that's an awesome idea.. I'm going to test that in the bath.
Thanks Johan 👍
What a super healthy and tasty looking cookup Steve - thanks for the ideas!
@andrewfrolley1508 thanks Andrew.. it was super tasty 😋
Top stuff. Nothing wrong with the good old salmon for a meal. Loving the simple recipes too. Everyone could give them a go for a quick good feed.
@@roberre164 sometimes simple is best. 👌
Cheers mate

Thanks heaps Mark.. enjoy the fish patties. 👍
Awesome video Steve! I’ll have to try metal lures if the crabs are bad more often! Great job and love the quality content, keep it up!

@@SteveOutside Thanks for that info!
Do you use mono or braid for lures and bait ?
@Huzzahfishing i use mono when I'm casting on the beach.
I use braid only when i'm drone fishing,
Hey SteveO. Good to see you catch some dinner mate but you chucked my dinner back into the surf 🌊😂
@angus-eats oh that was perfect size for you mate... hahaha
