Haven't been to Swinley since it went trail-centre; back in the day I used to just go there and ride, day and night, and make up routes connecting all the different bits together. And sometimes getting lost and failing to connect the bits (especially in the dark). None of that video except The Wall looks at all familiar now, though I daresay some of the routes are sections I've ridden that used to have different names. Used to have The Labyrinth, Yellow Brick Road, Ranger Trail, etc. May have to go back and give the new version a try - though I've not ridden in so long I daresay I'll make a complete hash of it now!
Thanks for the video, I had a look at it this morning before going for a unicycle ride with two other guys. It was an epic day! So many good trails and most of them are alright for a unicycle!
Would love to see you do another video on Swinley. A lot of the trails have been revamped/moved including the Jubilee line addition to the red. Also now with the summit fully open, there's a full bike park to play around in.
@@emma_m0 There are about 4 fun runs down, but everything else is a hill. Also, it's the only trail centre where it's possible to get lost, which is unbelievable until you've ridden there.
Giles Turner yeah, I ride there a lot so I know about the runs. There’s a lot of uphill and a few good downhill sections. I’ve never got lost though, an app called Trailforks always helps. 👍🏼
fluid _norco111 definitely worth it! It’s a great place for beginners. Everything there can be rolled over slowly. The trails are pretty smooth and well looked after and best of all, the main trails are well signposted. Just follow the numbers and arrows. You’ll have a great time 👍🏼
Hey Tom, great video! Just one thing you might want to check out for the next time, you go there. There is a "freeride section" hidden not far from the Babymaker, I don't think you know about it. Nothing too big, but the most fun imo in Swinley. A few step downs, a small sharkfin, half decent hip, drops, steep straight descents, and I think Swinley's techiest trail is there as well. We usually session the babymaker and the trails next to it for starters, then spend the rest of the day at this spot. Let me know, if u would like directions there.
@@MT-js6ke unfortunately, I heard some gossip that it got destroyed recently. But anyway, if you face the top of babymaker, go back towards the fire road, and turn right. Go past another steep fire road on the right, and you'll have a small opening on the right. Head in there.
Greg Varga thanks mate. I think that’s the old trails called camel? Someone else on the comments said that it was destroyed a few weeks ago unfortunately, it’s a real shame
Swinley's alright but defo more for beginners or people who just want to try mountain biking as a one off day trip. Most of it's uphill and many of the trails are flat and windy which become more tedious than fun. Red 15, 20, 25 and Blue 14 are brilliant though.
Yeah, the wall - used to be a bit of a granny ring climb IIRC. Nearly always made it up there fine though, the odd spin-out aside, well before ebikes were a thing.
Since your Last visit there new Trail with Jump that Sam Reynolds tried out first as he Brother of Swinley Hub Manager can I ride Hardtail Ebike there or get full Suspension bike
I would love to see any of these highly skilled riders do all these trails on a mid to low end hardtail. Recon fork, eagle sx/nx, 69 degree head angle... The kind of bike that 90% of us have no choice but to ride because these ebikes cost as much as my 2011 durango with leather interior, a hemi, tow package...
@@Mr.P.Griffith he still does it on them stock at first. many highly skilled riders out there that dont have high end bikes. are you saying these guys can only do what they do because of high end bikes?
you need to hit wilkins leap gap on babymaker from the first table to the landing and then bikini carwash at the right side of the hill that babymaker is on
Srewster that’s really annoying. I used to ride those lines, they were so good. Probably some of the best at swinley. I know they retired the lines a few years ago, but up until 6 months ago they were still there to ride. Was it a recent thing then, bulldozing the trails?
MT yeah about 2 weeks ago, I live local so rude there all the time. As you say they were some of the best. A few more lines are popping up on other hills now, I need to find a dig crew I can join and help out.
Srewster that’s a real shame they’ve decided to get rid of those trails. Hopefully they’ll develop some even better ones soon, there’s enough land their to make some really good trails:)
You've got to watch out on that "baby maker" trail...gotta be responsible guys! 😝 Those trails look so much fun...awesome video Tom and Kara! 🤘🏻😎
Yes tomm!!!!! Going swinley sunday 🤟ready for a shreddyyy ...baby maker is sick! And red no.20 is also amazing next to it🤟
That’s awesome that you guys enjoy riding with each other! My wife and I have been married for 27 years and still ride together. Cheers mate
thats awesome!

Love it. Sick sends on babymaker and making us all want an ebike after passing us on that hill 😂
Biked here with mates several times before covid hit. It's always very fun, can't wait to get back.
Swinley and Difficult shouldn’t be put together, as it’s one of the easiest trail centres in the UK, change my mind :)
Even Wilkins is piss
Agreed. It’s great fun but a lot of uphill.

Any chance you would be able to give me directions to there? Swinleys great, but it gets a bit boring riding the same trails after a while

I hugely respect any person that says "Shall we mosey" 🙂
Awesome trails and riding! Your videos are always really great! 🤙
Epic! Swinley is my local, I live about 10 mins ride from baby maker. Good to see you riding round these woods

That was sick! What a line!
I ❤️ to ride with my second half as well 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I don't know where about you live, but you should try and a give a visit to Haldon Forest, in Exeter, they have some great trails.
Yes Haldon is great!!
Haldon forest is very tame. All of the trails there are pretty easy even the red and black.
0:55 Very Cool👍
Hi! Just saw this trail on the Red Bull list. Would a gravel bike such as the Salsa Fargo able to ride on this trail? Thanks!
The hill at 7:15 is a killer everytime I go there and up that hill it pains haha
@Monsieur Magnetophone yeah I can see why

sehr schön , Nice , ....Tom u. Kara .

Have you not seen sam pilgrim!?
@@swarvalous he rides dumpster bikes and then throws a $1000 fork on them. I'm talking about marlin 5's, stock marins, that kind of thing.

Amazing how hard you send but how little you crash! Must just be the mark of a very good biker 😂
Are you going to do crank works?
How wide are your tires?
Which red section are the drops at? 3:28
Awesome guys great footage sick place to ride 👍👍
at 9:06 go left and there is a sick drop that you can j send as far as you want
Up n Up!
Is this better than bedgebury forest?
so much hidden stuff at swinley that your missing out on!
How’s your shoulder feeling? I have dislocated it for the 2nd time and I’m quite sad to not be able to ride good again.
That sucks dude! After the surgery it feels great! I would recommend it!
Trials need more marketings, really easy to get lost or even miss lines😔
"I like letting her go first, she loves her roots" - sexual tension increases by 100% 🤣
Oh..Great...
Probably quite a few berms or dinosaurs... LMAO!!
Gonna try this trail soon. You know, exactly at 4:00 you see a huge rat walking in the background?🐀
lol that was the day you was bit after me where I fell off on red 15 and broke my college bone and I’m only 15
I think you and Sam Pilgrim should have a jump to manual comp, see who can go the furthest
my home trails!!!?
much more at swinley forest cos it’s so big most people don’t bother going to the top end where the best r.
Awesome video. Is it free to ride there?
Just need to pay a few quid for the carpark.
@@emma_m0 Thanks
The only good part of Bracknell is the forest
*Change my mind*
Swinley is probably better as your on a ebike
Shame they've bulldozed one of the the good original trails called camel and all the surrounding lines
Most of that is still there isn’t it? It’s not an official trail anymore but there’s still a good few lines to ride
MT no they’ve bulldozed the lot and cut trees down across all the old lines so they can’t be rebuilt.

Wish I was 25yrs younger I could then jump
yet another promotional video for ebikes!
Nice man we are down the road, sick vids 👍👍 check out ours when you get a sec

Swinley is a terrible Mtb venue! No elevation
