- CSX Trains Booking Through The Middle Of A Park Near Dayton, Ohio. 6 Trains, Auto Racks Train With DPU, Aqueduct, Bike Trail & Flood Wall In Taylorsville Metro Park. These Trains Are In Vandalia, Ohio On The CSX Toledo Sub Which Is Ex Baltimore And Ohio Railroad. Close Look At The Rail And Other Railroad Items.
This is a great Railfan location that is just north of Dayton, Ohio and just a few miles off of Interstate 75. A bunch of us railfans met here to see how many trains we could get. This line runs south to Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati. This is actually Part 2 for the video that I posted recently.
The park is 1,400 acres and is only 12 miles north of Dayton. The railroad is at Mile Post 68 here with Cincinnati being 0. The flood wall protects Dayton from the Great Miami River which passes through the park. The flood wall was built after the 1913 flood to protect the Dayton area and is a great place to film trains running below. We got to the park at 9:30am and stayed until almost 8pm. A total of 11 trains passed through and the best frequency for this area is 160.230.
Filmed Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!
Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.

🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲
D-P-U-I-C-U, DPU hidden between the auto racks, tried to sneak another on by you, didn't work. Nice horn salute from CSX engine on manifest train. Good day and good video Jaw.

Thanks for giving your pets a good and happy life. So many are abused. You and Jason are on my list of automatic "thumbs up"
Thanks! I love my pets. They are never on a chain or rope. I would like to get another puppy from a rescue also
Cool location! Great catches there Jawtooth!👍
Thanks a lot!
Excellent video JT! Lots of good trains and even some great ones. I sure appreciate you sharing with us! Many of our lives would be much more boring if it weren't for your work! I always love seeing your pets, too! I hope you and your family have great weeks ahead. 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
@@JawTooth You're welcome my friend.
That was a fairly long covered hopper train. And it was so cool 😎 to see it coming right at us coming around the curve! Great train JT. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Some great train action up in the Vandalia area. When I was a kid living in the northern part of Huber Heights, my family spent lots of time in the Taylorsville park. We'd hike the trails, skip stones or fish the river, have picnics and in the winter, they had a great sledding hill. Being in that area brings back old memories. Norfie is a beautiful cat.
The CSX auto rack may be the longest one I've ever seen! It was 147 cars with a mid-train DPU. As far as auto racks go, a very good train! Thanks, JT. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! 👍🙏
Thanks for watching!
@@JawTooth You're welcome. Have a great day!
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains at the Taylorsville MetroPark in Vandalia, Ohio, they're awesome, I like them, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much.
Thank you very much!
I went on the Lackawanna Express with my parents to see an Oral Roberts healing service in Scranton PA. It took 3 days to get there bcuz of a 24-hour layover at Grand Central station in NYC and a stop in New Jersey. We were accompanied by folks from an organization I can't remember the name of bcuz I was a minor and they were disabled. I have loved riding trains ever since. So much has changed. Lackawanna is now AMTRAK. The station in New London is closed. Grand Central is no longer there. And AMTRAK is mostly a commuter line in eastern New England. Long for a time past. BTW I was five or six years old when😢we took that ride. The rails you read reminded me of that. Thank you for the virtual train ride.
You know the best part is watching all the trains but it's a bonus to find remnants of the good ole days like that old call box. That was awesome to see that Brian.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video this morning Brian, have a good weekend 🙏🏻
Thanks! You too!
This video reminds me when I was a kid .My grandparents lived close to a railroad station, me and my brother made then quite often walk us there so we watch the trains. Thanks for the great video . Beautiful family! 😊
Very cool!
Thanks for your comments and for watching!
Hey jaw tooth cool trains. Great location to railfan. Wish that road still crossed tracks. I'd rather have a grade crossing than a bridge. Can't stop on bridge to watch trains like you can at a crossing. Have a great railroad day 🚂🙋♀️
Thanks for watching!
I remember driving past Dayton several times in my driving days... i'd get lost anymore.. lol about 75 here... can't remember what I mostly forgot anymore.
Your videos are what wakes me up most mornings but I tune in most any hour of the day.
Wow, you are up early today! Thanks for watching!
Just what I can enjoy this morning watching my favorite Carrier CSX doing their job great video thanks Brian
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow 123 cars on that autorack train, I guess they are making them long now a day, keep up the great vids, look forward to watching your vids every morning. Keep them coming Jaw Tooth, and as I always say, BE CrAzY!!
Thanks 👍
You and the other railfans had a good day railfanning at Taylorville Metro Park in Vandalia, Ohio, Jaw Tooth. Those two auto rack trains were long. The mixed freight trains had a variety of freight cars on them. Thank you for uploading this video!
Thanks, you too!
That was a fairly long train for being a local at 91 +/- cars. Thaks JT. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
It sure is
We had some live action there, son lol but another awesome video JT and that is my second favorite spot that y’all go and video it which Greenwich is my favorite but anyway you got some good train yesterday so as always, my friend y’all stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Thanks 👍
I like to see gondolas! I had a job one time to load crossties on them.
Thanks for watching!
The road bridge over the railroad appears to be very recent. Its limited height probably means it can't be used by double stack container trains.
Awesome locations JT! Great video!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Many thanks for your birthday wishes, Brian. Another awesome train 🚆 video from you. I enjoyed it. Yes,I did see and heard your previous birthday wishes in another video.
Thank you very much!
That was a very short mixed manifest but it had coil steel on the first few cars. That makes it alright with me! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Right on!
Good morning Brian. We have leaves now.
Good morning Steve!
Nice locations.

Blue tanker cars! First time seen! Horn salute, rail fan friends, gambit, DPU icu, norfy! The whole package.
them rails were created just months after I was born, May 24, 1965, and probably about 2 hours away, if that from Lackawanna, but on the Canadian side in Ontario.
Awesome video! Horn salutes. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on
Thanks for watching
Another awesome find JT!
Thanks for watching
Great video Brian! Thank you so much for sharing 🤝🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@JawTooth 👍🙂
6:34 "RE" revised standard for weight
"STN" Steelton, PA, mill, Bethlehem Steel since 1917, then ISG, then ArcelorMittal when this rail was manufactured in 2015, and Cleveland-Cliffs since 2020
Thanks for the info!
Another fine video JT 👍🏻🙂
Jawtooth we love the end with all your pets live action fun :) Whenever I see Chessie I think of the train. When I was a lil tyke my mom put a real old framed pic of the Chessie kitten in my room and I'd ask who is that? What does trains have to do with a kitten mom ! I still dont know Lol I did like the name though!
Great job jt have a good one from Kansas 4:25
I love that little bike trail thru the park, would have rode my horse thru there!
That would be cool!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks, and stay safe JT
Better than an ordinary "grab bag"! 👍
Thanks for watching!
Freights moving quickly to or from Cincinnati so they have to enjoy the open Outdoors here. Even the local had quite a bit of business. Sometimes County or State Properties will have some interesting secrets and that land may have been donated or acquired for a low price. Children running dogs romping and cat purring mean all is well on the home front and now.JT has the footage for the next video. PS. Most if not all of those Autoracks will probably continue on to Derby Days in Louisville which should be the big Ford truck plant. The freight from Buffalo NY to there is usually 150 cars that's why it takes so long to go by and clog those Cincinnati grade crossings
nice spot
Yes it was!
Hey Jaw Tooth I live in Englewood next town over, I’ve been going here all my life, and thee little crossing thing was added for the trucks to come on and hook up their rail wheels for easier access! They put it up maybe 6 years ago or so
That crossing was added many years ago so that MOW equipment could get up onto the tracks. They use the dirt road coming off of US40 on the west side of the bridge to get down there. Lived in Vandalia up until a few years ago. Can’t even guess how many trains I watched go through where you are at over the years.
Awesome and thanks for the info!
There used to be a cross over in between those signals going from track 1 to the siding. I think it used to be there so they could route a train over to the siding and then onto a spur that is up the track a bit that would go over to a former GM plant next to 75. The spur went over the interstate as well. Without that crossover there now, that northbound signal on the main really only needs one signal head now. There also used to be a B&O bracket mast signal at the north end of Needmore yard. Can't remember if it was a double track coming out of yard and staying that way until it got north of Taylorsville park.
Wow awesome goodness always 💪 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Thanks again!
Good video Brian. We’re gonna have to get back up there
For sure
The young man in the red and black hoodie really enjoyed saying, Wait theres more ! He said it best for sure 🏆
Great catches awesome capture and nice video jaw tooth

Thanks for watching!
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Hello there
BISCUITS AND TRAIN'S,,ARE MY THING . EXCELLENT LOCATION & CATCH.👍👍🇺🇸🐶🐱
Thanks 👍
Nice Video
Thanks
I am always surprised to see CN (Canadian National) cars on USA tracks ... and then I remember that CN was not doing so well in Canada, and was bought out by an American Rail Company. Appreciate your overhead view of this video's location. Great footage. Also nice to see a young lad there ... a new generation interested in trains!
Where did you get that information?CN is doing great and owns several US railroads.
Great point! I like seeing young kids keep the hobby alive
CN was owned by the Canadian government until 1995. As it was privatized, two stipulations were put in place: 1. No one individual or corporate entity could own no more than 15% of the stock in the company, and 2. Its headquarters had to remain in Montreal, thus ensuring that it will remain a Canadian company.
👍👍👍👍👍
I used the bike system to access Taylorsville portraying spotting under the bridge.. a great location
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Jaw Tooth for another great video from the wilderness(lol). You often hide away in the brushes, Question: How many snakes do you run across?
I see them every once in a while. Last year I saw a few of them. A couple years ago I saw a couple in Florida in February
Was this from Saturday, close to my area maybe run into ya sometime, great video
No but I will return here again soon
I need to check this place out next week

That bridge is the National rd. US 40.It was relocated in 1913 after the Dayton flood to travel across Taylorsville Dam.
Thanks for the info! Next time I go I will film the dam area
Be careful. You're going to get some chigger bites running around in that brush. Thanks for the video.
