Awesome, I hope I am not the only one hissing and panting on my test! After staring at my textbook for 30 minutes and not getting ABG's, I came up with this search on youtube!
Good way for me to get the basics, but do you also have a video on how to tell if it's compensated or uncompensated? That's where I get hung up!

I appreciated the details about what is going to throw your ABGs off and the mnemonics. I have to admit for me there was too much repetition of some segments and it would have been fun to work more actual problems using the band uniform so I could really get it. All in all, it was a very helpful place for my brain to go to make sense of ABGs and overcome exam panic. Good one about dropping the 7 to get the parameters for P-CO2. Thank you!

thanks for all the videos you upload. I'm an LPN student in the Army and have no background at all in medical. Completed my A&P at FT. Sam now @ Walter Reed in Maryland for clinicals and didactic lectures. Your method of teaching works great!! Maybe you can come to Maryland and be an instructor lol.

Hi Michael, thank you for this great video! You did not address this, but what if you go back to your key, and it does not match, what does that mean? For example, a patient has bad diarrhea (acidosis) but the key says their body was in a basic state? I hope you can make time to get back to me! Thank you!

Good job
As a respiratory therapist student, we are taught to look at the base excess first. You dont look at it at all. This is a bad thing because base excess is a far better way to look at the overall metabolic state because there is more than bicarb that makes up the base. You can have a bicarb in normal range but base excess out of range and your going to detrimentally miss read this abg.
