Plus ginny did what they wanted to do they showed themselves on national TV and made an iconic TV moment that got spoken about for AGES after. They didn’t need to beg Ru for a place in a competition with no real prize. They had already gotten notoriety. Calling ginny ungrateful is wrong. Queens should be allowed to bow out at any moment for any reason. Consent and respect goes both ways.

Ru is sort off the busy rich mom who flies around the world doing fab stuff and comes home every month to give you money, dinner and some encouraging words. Does she love you? Probably, she's your mom so she has to. She has a hard time keeping up with your birthday's and daily life though. Michelle is the cool aunt who knows you better than your mom does and continues to check in on you even when she doesn't have to.

The way Michelle described what Ginny did is how I wish everyone spoke about events. ‘I’ don’t understand (and it’s implicit she also doesn’t agree) but she’s speaking ONLY about her POV, and what she thinks. And isn’t suggesting her opinion carries any more weight or importance than anyone else’s.
Michelle is not only stunning but really intelligent. Complete respect to her, I totally agree about people taking themselves and life too seriously.

Took me awhile to warm up to Michelle. Didn't care for her to much initially, but over time she won me over. She seems like she really does have a generous spirit nowadays.

i still feel Ru was out of line with th H&M comment given the context. They have been pauzing the show for 8 months due to covid. Basicly All of them lost their job. They don't have the money ru has. You see the same issue with Veronica now on s3. She didn't get the time or money to prepare for it. And as she said. It doesn't cost money to do drag, but it does cost moeny to do drag race. Not to mention Michelle was wearing something from i believe H&M not that long before or after that.
I think ru and Michelle forget that the drag scene and payments don't work the same in the uk as the us. US queens get paid for gigs and get tips and stuff during numbers. UK queens (as mentioned on S2) don't get paid much especially if not in London/england and we don't do the tipping thing here for queens. so if the US queens have trouble funding drag race imagine how hard it is for the UK queens

I absolutely love Michelle and I believe her when she says she loves all those kids. Ru may push them out of the nest and debut them, but it’s Michelle who teaches them to fly.

Girl, it IS about money. Queens who don't show up on the main stage with expensive custom-made designer garments get read to filth. Also, Ru and Michelle seem to have forgotten that there was a lockdown, most queens had little to no income for months, and Joe Black said they had to sell most of their outfits to survive. That H&M dress was all they had to wear for that challenge. I suppose they could've accessorized it and made it look better, that I'm willing to concede. And of course, queens who are good streamstresses are able to make even the most basic off-the-rack garment look expensive (e.g. Ra'jah O'Hara). But at the end of the day, there's no denying that in recent seasons queens have had to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars for outfits they might not even get to wear on the main stage.
Look up Trixie recapping her outfits from her season. She had no money. The innovation of altering thrift store/cheap off the rack clothes and making her head pieces and jewelry out of PAPER. Also Raja’s looks, a lot of Katya’s best looks (watch her apartment tour where she shows how she buys cheap shoes and glues things to them to make them look couture), Thorgy, and a ton more. I think past season 8 newer fans came in expecting a beauty pageant and not a creativity/talent competition. I live in New York and the grass roots drag/party scene still recognizes raw inventiveness regardless of how much money was put into the look. Drag Race became an Emmy chasing machine when it left Logo and went to VH1, so it started attracting all these social media queens rolling up with $1000 custom outfits. That doesn’t take away the fact that craftsmanship and creativity are still the core of good drag.
@@rozchambers Sure there are craft queent, but that doesn't mean that every queen is a craft queen or should be one. Just like every queen shouldn't be expected to be a comedy AND pagent queen. You can be good at just 1 thing. I wouldn't blame the fans for the idea that you have to bring the money to do well either. That's the shows fault for always pointing out when a queen comes on with no money, makes it a storyline, and then has them raked over the coals by the judges. That's the problem. The show set the expectation that you come on with thousands of dollars in drag.

Michelle Visage has put so much energy, health and time into Ru's legacy that she has long deserved her own show. I am very glad that they began to invite her to other shows, she periodically sits on the jury of cool projects. But galvno, she became a real icon in a very difficult genre of art and became a national favorite of all fans of Ru races

As someone else with a chronic illness/disability, Ginny Lemon was exhausted and in pain because of the condition they have. I don't get the hate she gets for going out on a high and not pushing her body to the limit. Let's support the disabled queens too pls

Lmao for real. I told a queen she improved so much since the last time I saw her, I'm 27, she's 19 now. And the first thing this girl said to me was how she couldn't believe I just said that because she was always amazing. And hasn't spoken to me since. LOL. Safe to say we don't book them.
