thanks for sharing! I love watching. As a Canadian.. I wondered what you meant when you say its 'hot'. 30C or higher. I also appreciate your commenting on the 'unoficial' culture that is set up to make money on unsuspecting tourists. I used to bristle at being taken - 'its not the sum, ils the principle (well really ils time somewhere you paid a LOT to get to which would be hard to revisit. Keep up the gréât work. I am hooked!
we loved Istanbul and stayed their last Christmas. Everywhere is open at Christmas, the sun comes out although it's not v warm and it's relatively cheap if you get away from Tourist areas, the port area is very expensive but clean and tidy. Istanbul is a lovely mix between east and west, great coffee shops, bars and lots of culture. The spice market is a bit rubbish now, compared to how it used to be, everything is modernised shiny and the old market is being covered up which is a real shame. Looking forward to going again.
This was a fun crazy trip. With a few things we wished we had known in advance. Have you been? Any other tips?

We want to go back to Istanbul for a little longer so we can properly explore
