I like it all!
Thank you so much Suzanne.
Both look very nice
Thank you Carol.
I agree with you! If something bothers you now it will always bother you lol! Even though I think everything you make looks lovely only the artist knows what they want to see in the end ;)
Thank you Ara.
That's the drawer pulls I remembered from the sliding door cupboard!
I love the rustic, farmhouse style pulls.
Incrível essa restauração dessa casa de boneca, estou amando acompanhar todo o trabalho brilhantemente belo Um até logo do Brasil.👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏❤❤💋
It's nice to know you're following along! :)
I am a fan of you Julie!
Thank you so much.
Your changes really do make a beautiful difference. So looking forward to your upcoming tutorials. Yay, Julie is back!
Thanks Beth, it's good to be back! :)
Gracias por tus hermosos videos!!! Admiro tu trabajo y tu talento! Muchas bendiciones.
Muchas gracias.
I know the bench you are looking to create. I first saw a high back bench in an antique shop when we lived in England and have wanted one in my own home ever since. We did a LOT of antique furniture shopping and purchasing before we left England but because we had a weight limit moving back to the states I had to leave the high back bench in the shop.. Since I have been collecting photos n my own drawings to have one custom built once I find the perfect builder to bring my vision to life.. 😉 I can’t wait to see your design n build for your dolls house... I love the kitchen changes as well you made in the dolls house...
What a great idea, to design a full-size piece and have it built. My husband is always saying to me, 'couldn't you make one in full size?'. I would like to give it a go one day! :)
I love the changes you made. They definitely improve the look. Just one thing I worry about is that floor is gorgeous but I worry someone would trip on the uneven surface :/
Thank you, Suzi. Don't worry, I'll tell all my miniature visitors to mind the floor! :)
lovely as always!
Thanks Nicole.
Thank you for this video! Your kitchen looks awesome Julie! 😁
Thanks Jessica. :)
I love both kitchen styles but the small changes you made really added a cozy warmth & personality. Could you please do a tutorial on making a roombox. The garden shed was so wonderfully done I would love a roombox version. Thank you!
Thank you Ashley. I've got a roombox on my list, but don't think I'll get around to it for a while. If you're interested though, I can supply roomboxes in kit form with an acrylic panel front. Drop me a line if you'd like more info. :)
Gorgeous 😊
Thanks Julie.
I have to admit, when you began dissecting those lovely pulls...I was saying no...no...lol! But once again, the artist knew better. I must agree the new hardware and faucets ...especially the new stained cabinet...do look better...more of a vintage look which I love. I can't wait for the bench tutorial. 💖
Thank you. I just felt it wasn't quite right! I'm so pleased with it now. :)
Finally you are back! Your time out in your workshop was mine ;-) so I really enjoy seeing you again!! Thank you!
Btw: the modifications are much better now! Tiny cause, great effect!!
Thank you so much. It's good to be back.
Google "settle (bench)". Several pictures came up on the screen. These benches were often used near a fireplace. The high back blocked the heat from the fire from escaping and kept the occupant warm. A quilt was sometimes draped over the back, ready to snuggle into on a cold night. The seat was often hinged to provide storage space.
The drawer pulls are considered Victorian. You see them referred to as "cup" pulls.
I'm looking forward to making a patchwork blanket to drape over the back. :)
@@JulieWarren I'm sure it'll be lovely! I so enjoy your work.
I remember thinking at the time you built the units, that somehow those black handles had the appearance of seeming larger than the other ones (although I know they are the same), the antique brass ones are just right. A great choice.
The black ones did look a little bit bigger didn't they? Probably because they were more prominent. I am happy with how it looks now. :)
I love the changes!!! And I can not believe you were staining those pieces while wearing a white sweater!! You always seem to be such a neat crafter. I would make a mess. I know that style of bench has a name. Is it missionary or bishops bench. I can't remember. I remember seeing them when I was younger. I am so looking forward to your next tutorials!!!!
I've seen them referred to as "monk's bench".
Thank you Sarah. Some of the benches also have a lift up seat for storage, but I'm keeping it simple with mine. I'm should have it finished today and will upload, hopefully tomorrow. :)
There are so many wonderful styles of bench, I might have to try to fit another one in somewhere!
We always called them church pews here in the Southern USA. Love the kitchen with the farm sink.
I agree that the antique brass drawer pulls and faucets look really nice. Quick question - do you have any problems using glue over stained wood? I use wood stain (wood dye doesn't seem to be available where I live - eastern US) and I've read that glue does not always work well over stained wood. Maybe wood dye takes the glue better?
I do find that glue tends to take longer to grip over stained or varnished wood. I use my Gorilla wood glue and it does take in the end!
Julie, do you have a book that concentrates on making miniature objects to put in your dollhouse? I have a friend who is working on making a dollhouse for her granddaughter. I don't know that she would want to get into a complete renovation like you are doing, but I think she would like to learn how to make small objects to put in it. I know you have several books for sale on Amazon, but I can't tell if there's one that focuses on small objects. I am not working on a dollhouse, but I have been watching your video diaries and am fascinated by the process. I have always loved miniatures, my best friend had a great one we played with from 5 years old to 10 years old. She still has it.
Hi Cheri, yes, take a look at my book, Making Dolls House Miniatures in 1/12th Scale, which includes over 50 step by step tutorials for miniatures and smaller projects. :)
@@JulieWarren I did buy that book for her, and ended up buying three others. I love your work, it's delightful. Thank you.
I want to do the ceiling beams in my corner shop. .. I don't feel brave. Enough lol ... I'm guessing there in one of your video's... X
Here is a link to the video where I fit the beams. It was fairly easy to do, so I do hope you'll give it a go. x
@@JulieWarren thank you Juile I found it lol and done beams I done bigger ones and aged them they look fabulous. Love your tutorials thank you so much xx
Does any of your books contain nursery stuff❤
Yes, Making Dolls House Furniture in 1/12th Scale has a selection of nursery pieces. 😊
Hi Julie hope you are well I'm James please can you tell me what wood the kitchen units are made from as they look good thank you James fp uk2022
Hi James, I used Obeche for the kitchen cabinets. You could also use Basswood, or Jelutong if you want something of better quality. Having said that, both Obeche and Basswood sand and take paint really well.
Do you have a tutorial showing you actually cutting the parts for items you show assembly on?
I have a video called, working with wood, here is a link: ua-cam.com/video/Z2FsQ6ckC64/v-deo.html
