Before the Expansion: 1. Complete Epic Book 1. Take the South Bree stable to Miniath Tirith Midsummer and talk to Glindor to start it. 2a. Clear out level 140 items from bags and vaults. Sell crafting items. Use enhancement runes. 3. Max out Gundabad crafting for any profession you plan to use in the expansion. Vocations are being removed in the expansion, so you may chose any three professions. 4. Optionally: Max out ancient script and embers for a head start. 5. Max out Virtues. 6. Max out Legendary Items Reward Track. Hold out on claiming rewards. 7. Collect Task Items for Gundabad 8. Obtain Tomes of Exceptional/Extraordinary Experience and Reputation Acceleration Tomes. Day Before the Expansion: 9. Clear out Quest Log. 10. Log out next to the Tasks Bulletin Boards or in Imloth Melui in Lossarnach (King's Gondor) next to where Book 2 starts. 2b. Duplicate advice from Tip #2 - Throw out Portents. Day Expansion Arrives (Not technically Tips to Prepare for U38 Umbar Expansion, but potentially useful): 1. Pop 100% XP Tome and accelerated Experience using Destiny Points on Alts. Turn in Tasks daily. 2. Use items from Tip #8. 3. Reforge Legendary Items. Replace Traceries when appropriate. 4. Harvest materials while playing. 5. Replace gear as appropriate.
Our current traceries will work for level 150, yes that is correct. However, their enhancement limit will be 499 meaning the slot won't go higher than that with the Gundabad tracery in it. The new cap will be 515 upon release and then raised slowly throughout the level cap, so you will have to decide if you want to extra stats from Umbari traceries or the strong bonuses from your gold gundabad traceries.
Reward Track doesn't reset until Nov 14, so the extra Track Tier 101 boxes can be stored on the track itself. No need to find storage for Reward Track boxes in general, unless you think you can't hit level 141 in less than a week.
Is there anything worth getting for embers before the expansion drops? I have maxed embers and tons of raid gear/other items in storage- i guess i could use it to level, or convert into motes. the only thing motes is good for = figments splendour/cosmetics?
Motes is used to convert to figments or for older gear. It's hard to really say that there's anything worth using embers for right now, since we're so close to the level cap increase. I feel like I would just save the embers, even if you are at cap.
I'm on epic 1 I think. I am wrapping up the Misty Mountains, after the Trollshaws. I haven't made it to Moria yet story wise. Working up to that very slowly.
Pretty sure that is not the book 1 he is referring to. Sorry, but you have a pretty long way to go, even if you are only doing the epic quest lines. It's "The Song of Waves and Wind" Book/Chapter 1 I am sure he is referring to.
Thanks for the video as always! My question is: I created a mariner and used valar item for him. Now shall I make his crafting tier until gundabad maxed? Or just wait?
I would max out the crafting vocations you are planning on keeping. If you are planning on changing some of your vocations out, it would be wasted to level those.
Two tips sorta contradict each other: get your Ancient Script to 10,000 vs. DON'T open your reward track boxes. Which is more important? Are there other ways to get Ancient Script quickly?
Reward track is the fastest way to earn script. It seems like it might be worthwhile to save your boxes until the expac and get level 141 before opening.
i will wait until you can buy Umbar with LP :P that way there isnt loads of annoying people all trying to kill the same mobs which is really annoying with new updates.
Happens in every MMO. At least it doesn't bug us as much in ffxiv. Except the npc that starts the cut scenes for story, has like 50-100 person zerg standing around them.
Imagen if you could complete deeds when you are at max virtue lvl on all virtues and DON`T lose the virtue xp. Atm they are punishing you for completing deeds past max virtue lvl and that is a joke (you are legit loosing virtue xp). The rewards should be those usable pots you get from hobbit gifts. It´s just a joke of a system atm
I'm not sure that embers are going to stay in your wallet. Of course I could be misremembering, but I think that with the release of Gundabad they were converted into motes.
@@ghynghyn4706 Is there a way around the 10K cap - does keeping a collection of Adventurers gear/jewellery allows you to disenchant to embers - I notice that my 130 adventurer gear on alts still disenchants to Embers not motes - so is this a viable way to store additional embers for expac if nothing to spend them on??
@@ghynghyn4706 I wonder if the bullroarer would show this - when copying character to test server does it take you inventory with you? If so could open a ember gear box then look on the test server to see if it disenchants to motes or stays as embers??
maybe they should have looked at the crafting in more detail rather than saying it would be uncoupled and now annoying some people as it cannot be done. IMO it should stay as it is, as a progression.
The vocations will still be able to be changed out, the only thing we're not getting is Umbar as a standalone crafting tier. You will have to level all tiers before Umbar to get to the new tier.
I agree to a degree, but I split my video up in parts of before the update/day before update/after update, so some tips had relevance for most of those places, so I felt like I should mention them.

Ghyn, what tips do you have for obtaining embers in next few weeks (for solo content)? Delvings are only thing i know of, is there anything else?
Gundabad and Carn Dum weeklies are some easy ones, also the mission weeklies (although they reset with the update)
Is there a need to get some new traceries? Havnt played proper in a month or so, but I thought our current traceries had a 150 cap?

@ghynghyn4706 ah ok I got it now, basically it's so we aren't weak as hell going into the new content. Makes sense
I’m building up mileage on my reward track, it makes sense that the rewards are based on the level of the toon.
Reward Track doesn't reset until Nov 14, so the extra Track Tier 101 boxes can be stored on the track itself. No need to find storage for Reward Track boxes in general, unless you think you can't hit level 141 in less than a week.
Thinking about doing all possible missions with my recently valared tank guard and turn em in on day one 😂
thank you ghynghyn for giving the tips

I see! Thanks again man@@ghynghyn4706
Do things like The Further Adventures of Bilbo Baggins and hand them in after the launch?
I am kinda glad the older crafting tiers will still be relevant now.
THX Ghyn ... maybe I'll return to middle earth

It looks so scuffed in the city. the house walls is just a color, like they were painted just 5 mins ago.. hope it is otherwise good...

I feel like they might stay. We have the cap of 10k for a reason; so we don't farm 500k embers before a cap, but instead the max we can have is 10k.
