J.C. & these Abs. Gentlmen are an Example of how all members are so tight in all aspects of their Music, especially in the way they control their Dynamics ,the way the express more when needed then mellow down also which is what kinda takes on that journey with them & feeling the groove with them when Big D does his amazing Solo we Feelin what he is groovin to us , whoa im gettin deep huh.. Jus Sayin Take Care music lovers. Im excited because today is 10/5/2023 & J C & th Gentlemen are comin here in Honolulu on th 10/17 /23 @ th blue note ,been following them for 20 +yrs & Finally get to see them Live Baby 👍👊✌️🤙
I don't think I've ever seen anyone more infused with his music than that guitar player... He and his guitar are one, the music comes from deep inside both of them! Bravo!!!
Saw this line up several years ago at a small club near Birmingham UK. Capacity of about 800. There were 41 of us who turned up on the night. One of the most jaw dropping gigs I've ever seen (& I've seen ALL the "big names") Criminal that these guys didn't become huge
Man and his band are monstas...saw him up close and personal at Chickeewawa in N'awlins, Writes fabulous songs, sings his ass off, and is still not very well known in the mainstream... just about says it all 'bout the music business these days.
jon cleary is not promoted enough. he's a ex-pat Brit, belongs in new orleans, and bonnie raitts players usually dont get enough recognition. I saw him do this in NOLA and I couldnt get it out of my head. Went straight and bought it at the airport!
I saw these guys in Melbourne at manchester lane on the same tour. So damn good I went back again for all their other shows! Cornell C rules on bass and backing vox.
Been lucky enough to see Jon and his band a couple of times down under in Aus 👌 As an old Pom (English man ) good to see an old boy from Kent in the homeland go quite so good 👏 go man go 👌
This band is so damn good. Soulful and funky and Dwayne builds his solo perfectly. Thanks so much keithatmac for posting this quality clip of a great band.
Hello Keith.....Have you ONLY three tracks (videos), from these astonishing presentation by John and his friends ? Please, post MORE of this. Thanks a lot and regards from BRAZIL.
When I first heard Jon Cleary live back in 2007, I told him after the show Help Me Somebody was some of the best fun Standing up. Years later, it was just as much fun to record live at The Basement. Enjoy!
Hi Victor. To answer your question, yes have much more, around an hours worth all in full HD. The audio mix on video was the live mix I did on the night. The original hour has gone to air a few times here in Australia. I'll upload more tracks from the show some time soon.
Willy, you're so right. Can't believe I said that he was a native... I knew better, when I first met Jon, back in 2006, well before I recorded these sessions, I knew much of his life story, growing up in Newcastle, well before leaving the UK, arriving in New Orleans before his 20th birthday.
Always wondered if he wrote this song about Karen... a beauty from Manchester that he was dating in the late 80ies..she took off and went to LA...never to be heard from again by many who knew her...
LinkedHD So Glad you enjoyed the clip. Jon is Playing the Basement again tonight with The Monster gentlemen. Unfortunately, we won't be there to capture the show. Maybe next time :-)
This is for all my friends, particularly those involved in the Kevin Brown Project in any way and especially Mark Goudswaard, Iknow you'll love the Srat work!! - Lovely playing with Kev, Mark & Duncan last night at the `royal Oak in Bath!
A few years back there was a version of the tune Moonburn played at this show. It was taken down. Is there any chance you could upload it back? It was so tight! Thanks
rightshag Big D is a match to George Benson on an average day, but clearly he is reaching further on building solos than George did in his prime. WOW!! Big D is representing the Big Easy all the way!
Anyone else who keeps coming back to this amazing performance?✨👍✨
Big D's soul and passion on that guitar can make a grown man damn near shed tears.
Wow.. Just Wow.
i know, right?
Yup i feel you

Love this! Eddie's using one of my Australian Spotted Gum snares as his secondary snare......What a gig this was!
Does not get better!!! Big D is an amazing, soulful player. He builds and builds a solo to climax!!
Man and his band are monstas...saw him up close and personal at Chickeewawa in N'awlins, Writes fabulous songs, sings his ass off, and is still not very well known in the mainstream...

Man I was sleepin' on this guy. I'm wide awake on him now though, that's for sure.
Love that Fender groove.......never gets old.
Real nice piece of music.
GOD! Bless Tiny's heart. If I knew this band was always gonna be there, like in the old days, I'd move back.
I saw these guys in Melbourne at manchester lane on the same tour. So damn good I went back again for all their other shows! Cornell C rules on bass and backing vox.
Big D plays that thing from Chaka Khan's "Sweet Thing" on the intor/outro. Love it!
Thanks for sharing. You're right about the guitar solo
This is fabulous as has already been stated. No surprise it sounds so good, Keith Walker is a legend, no doubt about it.

Quintessential. Hope they come back Australia.

Smokin Guitarist, wow
This is for all my friends, particularly those involved in the Kevin Brown Project in any way and especially Mark Goudswaard, Iknow you'll love the Srat work!! - Lovely playing with Kev, Mark & Duncan last night at the `royal Oak in Bath!
A little taste of Johnny Guitar Watson in that guitar!
Yes you're right, was in Bonnie Rait band
The Basement, Sydney????
THank you for your kind thoughts - maybe this will help. K
Hi Grey Jay, so glad you enjoyed the video..
Nice
A few years back there was a version of the tune Moonburn played at this show. It was taken down. Is there any chance you could upload it back? It was so tight! Thanks
Pareciera como si le estuviera haciendo un masaje a la guitarra.
Thx David 👍🏼
Not bad for a boy from Kent. As for big D - this is the most tasteful guitar playing - reminds me of George Benson.
rightshag Big D is a match to George Benson on an average day, but clearly he is reaching further on building solos than George did in his prime. WOW!! Big D is representing the Big Easy all the way!
Big D is the fucking man!
Still the best solo
When I hear solos like that I want to cut my fingers off. Instead, I may be going on the flapjack diet. Who knows?
I feel like if a trogoldyte like me has heard of them at this point then they must be generating some heat. Anyone else here because of Le Show?
COULD this be the monster guitarist from Cape Town Kenny Jefta reincarnated????????
