Raval may be ONE of the "most dangerous" neighborhoods in Barcelona (the city is quite safe though there are slightly more sketchy-feeling ones than Raval), but that still doesn't make it nearly as bad as most other cities I've been in across Europe and the Americas. Your title makes it seem like Raval is this scary dangerous place, when it's actually not as bad as its stereotyped to be. It's improved so much in the past few decades. Just don't look and act like an unaware tourist, be careful with your belongings, and mind your business. Not that different from most cities across the world...
