I used to think similarly, but my current HOA is pretty awesome. They negotiated a very good bulk discount for high tier cable + internet package thanks to strong negotiating power of hundreds of homes. They also pay for lawn care (mowing, weedeating, etc., also at bulk discount rates) to keep the neighborhood looking nice instead of enforcing standards by harassing/fining people. They do other good things as well (maintaining common areas, community pool + playground etc.) and at the end of the day my total HOA fee which covers all of the above is about what I'd pay for internet + cable if I didn't have a great bulk discount, so all the benefits are practically free. If the community actually elects decent people, there's a lot of benefits to operating as a group instead of individuals.
@@stevenjackson121 the problem is, at any moment, that HOA could elect a couple people who seem like good people and then turn into monsters. Love the work you do. IMHO HOAs are an abomination. Nothing good about them. Like you said, they're basically a mini government. But it's the type of government they are that bothers me. They're closer to a tyranny than a democracy. People have very little recourse, if any, if they're in disagreement with their HOA. Even though it's THEIR home that THEY are paying for. And if your community decides to form an HOA, you can't opt out. You're in it whether you wanted it or not. I'm truly baffled as to how something like that could even be legal in the United States of America. No free citizen should be forced into an HOA against their will. There are people who have literally lost their homes and been left with nothing because they didn't knuckle under to these tyrants. That being said, the majority of the people that you're helping here in this video are victims of the HOA rather than perpetrators. It's a beautiful thing that you did out of the kindness of your heart to make things safer for people and their kids. I really enjoy your videos.
I've lived in neighborhoods with HOA and without...the rules are basic...keep your yard mowed, gardens weeded, trash picked up and don't let your house fall into disrepair...all things that help maintain the property values...and you elect your own board members....so if you don't like the way they are running it...vote them out...nothing complicated about it..."Abomination"??? thats funny.
@@markanderson4163 lolol you must be on the board of an HOA. When someone brings out a ruler to measure your grass and has the power to start a chain of events in which you could lose your home, and you have NO way to opt out, that is Russia, not America. And yes, those things HAVE happened. In those cases it didn't matter that they didn't like the board members. The HOA was made up mostly of their buddies. So nobody was gonna vote them out because they had it in for one person they didn't care about. So I'll say it again. HOAs are an abomination.
Thank you Brad, you did the right thing. The people who have issues with this are often found' on City Boards or attend the meetings and gum up the process with self righteous indignation and finger pointing. They tend to be retentive about 'the law' and this often explains their "attitude". My only concern is, as you rightly pointed out the electrical switch box, that there might be other utilities like Gas mains or water mains around and cutting through any of these could land you in a world of hurt. Well done mate! If it saves one driver from having a serious pile-up, your good deed will have 'earned' its keep.

It's done that way to minimize the "5 MPH stop" we're famous for here, and make the greatest number of people stop before entering the intersection. After stopping they have to creep forward to discern when to pull out.
The stop line is far too far away from the road anyway. I drive in the UK where the stop line is at the edge of the road where it should be. You wouldn't need to cut the trees back then.
That closing shot, what a funky subdivision! Looks like each house has one small conifer and zero additional landscaping. I guess that makes the grass mowing easy.
So, Brad, how do you like the Ventrac? Seems you are having a ton of fun discovering its abilities and deficits. Does it replace your regular mower for residential jobs? Appreciate your "Safety First" attitude.
Yah I have the same issues in my neighborhood it’s so annoying having to practically pull into the road to see if anyone is coming and I’m at the crest on a hill to from one side with all of that brush it’s very hard to see what’s coming the other side is flat and clear
You made the right call with or without the HOA's acknowledgment to the situation. It truly was an unsafe view for drivers. And I doubt anyone is really going to get mad about it being safer to turn off that street.
Bought a house in a different state in May of 2020. The realtor kept taking us to other houses then the list my wife and I wanted to look at. All of her picks were hoa’s, while ours weren’t. We finally told her if she couldn’t show us the homes we wanted to look at, we’d find another realtor. Coming from California, we wouldn’t have any trouble finding another realtor that same day. The first house on our list ended up being the one we bought. After speaking with our new neighbors (all super nice folks), they mentioned they disbanded the HOA committee after 15 years. The owners told the board that they were all adults and didn’t need a committee telling them how to maintain a yard and exterior home paint. The hoa was disbanded 25 years ago and there isn’t one home in the area that looks run down. Meanwhile some friends who moved here before us are paying $150 a month in hoa fees, have a smaller lot, and don’t have any say on where they can park or how many people they can have over (no more than two extra vehicles per home in 24 hours).
Those utility boxes the utility companies usually like to have access around the entire box roughly what your mower width is I’m surprised that the developer didn’t think about this future headache of brush popping back up
The real question is… Was the HOA made aware of this violation of the code and still allowed it? Also, was the city notified? I didn’t get that from your caption or the video. You also forgot to mention that most HOAs hire a management company that is supposed to know the codes, do violation checks, give citation, and collect dues.
This is why i hate HOA's, because first off most of them are corrupt and really don't understand wtf is going on half the time, and anything done to better the community is looked down Apon because it's not done by them or supported by them. I know the HOA didn't give you permission to do this judging from you having no paper-work in your truck, No-one came to speak with you, and that you did this all for the safety of others, That makes you a good person. I have a full total respect for what you've done here today by saving lives and preventing deaths from the lack of someone not managing their plant life.
Triangle of visibility is wise to have. There's a junction away from home we occasionally use amongst fields. If you look one way its grass cutting your view. I give it a cut with shears. The other way is a wall where you couldnt see roof of approaching cars unless you're in a high vehicle. We turn off the radio and indicators and wind the winsow on the wall side so as to listen if it's safe.. You have to see one side is clear and you have to hear the other one is. Go for a clear view if it's your own driveway!
I mean if I had a Ventrac I’d be going out and doing the same thing 😂 It’s just too fun to be on one of those beasts of a machine 👍 keep up the amazing videos!!
I do the same thing with my disc mowers. Out here in the country the country isn't always johnny on the spot when it comes to keeping roadsides mowed. Especially at intersections. I did this very thing just a few days ago. Mowed over some tall grass and bushy trash trees at a 4 way intersection on a county black top road. Now you can actually see traffic and make a safe choice of continuing on your journey.
Dude I want to commend you for not only being a good submariner but also educating aspiring landscapers you are exceptionally great at what you do keep it up
Good job and awesome piece of equipment. Any chance those are occasionally available for rent, could be really handy to deal with decades of overgrown brush up at my lake cabin.
Good job!!!! I hate intersections like that! I have one like that close to my home. The problem is the the view is blocked by trees and brush inside the corner of the property owners fence. Every once in a while they cut it back. Maybe the two police and sheriff officers who drive that way every day to get home, stop and tell them to clear it out!

Me gustan mucho tus videos y el trabajo que haces, saludos desde la Ciudad de México
What a wonderful and selfless act.
you did good. Thank you for stepping up and making this neighborhood safer.
Wanted to “like and comment” to better your video traffic.
Well done, sir. Looks SO much better!
Thank you you for caring for others safety!
I don't live in Florida but that is an issue in sooo many places, so I thank you for fixing that one and any others you find.
Awesome job smart move you made 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you Brad, you did the right thing.
Great job sir! You’re almost certainly on right-of-way property there. Pay no mind to the “Holier Than Thou” haters. You fixed a public safety issue and might even have saved some lives. Love that Ventrac. You’re very good with it.
Watched this yesterday. I'm sure the homeowners are thankful for job well done.
I know you're new to your machine and the price of your equipment. Should watch ventrac videos to gain some confidence and knowledge for your business and equipment. Keep up the excellent work and videos!! T Ellis
What wrong with pulling up to the road to see traffic ? That’s how it’s done in all other countries. Putting the stop line way back is needless
It's always seemed strange to me that the stop line is so far back from the 'crossing' road in the US.
It's done that way to minimize the "5 MPH stop" we're famous for here, and make the greatest number of people stop before entering the intersection. After stopping they have to creep forward to discern when to pull out.
Looks like the other side could have used a bit of a trim also . At least someone had safety on his mind good job !
Glad you took the time to clear that. So unsafe to pull out from that street.
The stop line is far too far away from the road anyway. I drive in the UK where the stop line is at the edge of the road where it should be. You wouldn't need to cut the trees back then.
What a beautiful machine. Great job.
That closing shot, what a funky subdivision! Looks like each house has one small conifer and zero additional landscaping. I guess that makes the grass mowing easy.
That totally makes folks safe.
Good for you. Great attitude and work ethics. Proper values at hand here.
The crane truck driver that
pulled out of the property and
passed your operation behind
your work, already appreciated
the better view! Trust! 🤟🏽🐻
Wish there more people like you who see a problem and fix it!! You are awesome!!
So, Brad, how do you like the Ventrac? Seems you are having a ton of fun discovering its abilities and deficits. Does it replace your regular mower for residential jobs? Appreciate your "Safety First" attitude.
Fantastic job 👌👍
What an absolute chad, taking the law into his own hands to save the neighborhood. Good stuff
he mowed some brush lol, but its small chnages to ones own community that really matter, true.
Great job God bless you
Bought a house in a different state in May of 2020.
Those utility boxes the utility companies usually like to have access around the entire box roughly what your mower width is I’m surprised that the developer didn’t think about this future headache of brush popping back up
Kudos for doing a real public service. I love how the Ventrac just eats everything up!
Look at all that brush!
-What brush??
😆
Great job this looks a lot safer
Nice work
And I hope the " no good deed goes unpunished"
Will not affect you
Peace
Very good JOB!!!
The real question is… Was the HOA made aware of this violation of the code and still allowed it? Also, was the city notified? I didn’t get that from your caption or the video. You also forgot to mention that most HOAs hire a management company that is supposed to know the codes, do violation checks, give citation, and collect dues.
Man runs across a problem. He has the means to solve the problem. Job well done.
Not all hero's wear capes! Nice job and you've probably saved somebody's life or from being seriously harmed from an accident at that intersection.
You have my support. Thanks for your service
Nice job... but man, that place needs some trees! It looks so sanitized.
What is the reason for the intersection being set so far behind the road ? In Australia the side street would intersect right at the road
I feel bad for you. You're doing the right thing and the only thing that can be done, but I bet almost all the HOA residents will roast you over this.
Safety First! 🙏🏼
I mean if I had a Ventrac I’d be going out and doing the same thing 😂 It’s just too fun to be on one of those beasts of a machine
👍 keep up the amazing videos!!
Anything done for the safety of others is always a good thing, I think you were right. Keep up the god work.
Dude I want to commend you for not only being a good submariner but also educating aspiring landscapers you are exceptionally great at what you do keep it up
Amazing piece of equipment! You did an awesome job. I hate it when shrubs block your vision.
Hopefully they will be reasonable….. your dealing with a HOA the definition of unreasonable. Let us know how you get on man …..
Screw H.O.A's.
Another awesomeness!!!! Stay & be safe!!!
Great job
Had to be done sooner or later. What about the other direction,to the right.
