    STORYLINE:
An aspiring challenger to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban kept up the pressure on Friday as he led a protest of several thousand demanding a more robust child protection system and the resignation of Orban's government.
The demonstrators called for Interior Minister Sandor Pinter to step down over what they see as his failure to prevent the sexual abuse of children in state-run institutions, a crime which has led to political upheaval in Hungary in recent months.
Peter Magyar, a 43-year-old lawyer who has emerged as a new voice of opposition to Hungary's right-wing government, took aim at Orban's portrayal of himself as a defender of families and traditional values, and called for genuine reforms to address child welfare.
He called for Orban and his government to step down and vowed to represent a third option for Hungarians disillusioned by both the prime minister's 14 years of governance and the fragmented and ineffectual opposition parties.
The demonstration was the latest in a series of large anti-government protests that Magyar mobilized in recent weeks and came as the political newcomer is campaigning for European Union elections this June with his new party, Respect and Freedom (TISZA).
Magyar at one time was an insider in Orban's party and he is the ex-husband of former justice minister and Orban ally Judit Varga.
He shot to prominence when he publicly accused the government of corruption and cronyism following a child sexual abuse scandal that led to the resignations in February of the president and justice minister.
Hungary's government has dismissed Magyar as an opportunist seeking a new career after he lost several positions in state companies following his divorce.
But his message has had wide appeal, and opinion polls show that his new party is likely to gain seats in the EU elections.

      1. Orban are constantly blocking EU with VETO and always looking for deal that favors Russia
2.. russian oligarchs bank accounts and assests were frozen but thanks to Orban veto many russian oligarchs (including patriarch Kirill who has tobacco/liquor business) were able to access their money. Is this a hungarian interest? 😂
      3. Hungarian Foreign ministry were compromised by 3 russian agencies. 9400 computers/930 servers. No minister was resigned. Orban and Putin are best friends.
      4. Orban is constantly trying to block funds and weapons to Ukraine in the EU.
      Etc etc
Please tell me what makes you think Orban is not a traitor in Europe? What makes you think he is not working for Putin? He sold Hungary.

      3. His oligarchs and friends own everything in Hungary (media, all sectors in the economy)
      4. Health care system , education are underfunded and many problems everywhere
