Big thanks to Mz Hartz from The Base Radio for playing Janna Malone, Stim Citizen from YachtClub_SC for playing Axel, and Darjanator from the Fortnightly Frontier for playing August Dunlow!
I'd never really looked into the lore behind them, but the company is definitely growing on me. Everything from their cities in the atmosphere of a gas giant, to the design of their ships. I'm big on aesthetics and things that not everyone looks for in a ship. My personal favourite ship, even though I have a lot of issues with the extreme impracticality of it's interior, is the 600i. (my complaints about it can be summed up as 'luxury is no excuse to make a ship completely impractical for doing any kind of work with) So, along the way of playing the various builds, I learnt that one of my favourite activities right now is cargo hauling. And what's a Cargo ship that also happens to look really good? Yeah. The hercules. (C2 in particular appeals to me, but of course they do all look similar.) So right now I'd say my two favourite ships (hard to judge accurately given one of them doesn't exist ingame yet of course) are the 600i and the Hercules C2... Which I'd prefer at any given moment seems to depend on whether my mood is currently about pure aesthetics, or a balance of aesthetics and practicality. I'm just hoping that Crusader also does a decent somewhat luxury focused interior (doesn't have to be Origin levels of luxury, I'm just sick of designs that are almost entirely utilitarian in nature) In terms of the lore involved, I'd say I prefer Crusader over Origin. But you know. Given what I just said... Yeah, that's a strange reason to prefer a ship, but it doesn't change things. (it's not as simple as saying I prefer a given manufacturer for instance. As much as I love the 600i for it's aesthetics, I find the 890 surprisingly ugly. - can't argue with that interior for sheer luxury though. XD) But in any event, I'm starting to think Crusader is my favourite manufacturer even though the 600i remains my favourite ship...
Great video and thanks for doing a Crusader piece. My favourite manufacturer by far. Feel the Aegis Titan should be taken over by them and reworked slightly as it suits them more than Aegis. Favourite ship right now is the Ares but the Hercules was the reason I had to go Crusader.
I would pay a pretty penny for a medium fighter from Crusader. The flight profile and aesthetic are great, they build things that are a little too big for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mercury, I just would like something smaller and a bit more adaptable than what the Ares is. Medium classed missile boat, similar to the Shirke, would be amazing in my opinion. Or even a medium hauler to compete with the Cutty, in terms of cargo size, and real life price point, would be great too.
Outstanding work as always! Crusader has grown on me and I'm seriously considering picking up a C2 for my middle of the road cargo hauler (Sandwiched between a Hull B and E). Slight suggestion for future videos? The voice work is fantastic, it would be kinda cool to give them credit in the video directly either before or after the Patreon credits. I did see the post with the credits given, of course!
@@TheAstroHistorian Mercury for sure. Absolutely banger of a good looker. Kinda hope it gets the Hercules treatment someday and get different functional variant tho.
Marathon17. LOL, Galactic Historian is a SHILL for Crusader. To be fair: it will ALWAYS take forever to change if you need to go back to the habs to get the suit you want to put on. Something just seared the hull of my ship before I got a chance to board for taking off for microTech. Whatever I am just going to focus on getting to the show floor to relax.
love this video pleas keep making video's like this sins i love the lore do often dont not abel to read them fuly du to my ADHD keep distrackting me and this is a rally good format for me so heads of towards you
I was thinking of adding that but to do a proper analysis of their security issues would require more context and would in turn make this a much longer episode. I already have an episode planned talking about the Jumptown War(s) and their impact on the lore which will talk about that.
Love the lore storytelling. Very well done. My only criticism would be, to put the self promotion at the beginning or end. It completely took me out of the story being in the middle. Nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed the entire video.

My favorite ship producer
Which of their ships is your fav?
The Mercury Star Runner. But I sm thinking about getting a Hercules too. I like the envisioned versatility of the A2.
I'd never really looked into the lore behind them, but the company is definitely growing on me.

Loved crusader before, from an aesthetic perspective. Love them even more now, now that I know their lore! Thanks Paul!
As always, great job piecing that all together.
the star runner is one of my favorite concept ships
After doing this research I can understand, she is a very versatile little ship.
@@TheAstroHistorian hopefully the star runner stays to specs or at least doesnt change too much

I don't think Crusader understands what "medium" means.
Best "self plug" ever seen on YT. Awesome series!
Great work pulling this all together - interesting stuff!
Thanks and Merry Christmas :)
You too!
As an Arccorp citizen I'm fascinated by CI.

I will do that! I am playing with making the outro a bit tighter and that is a good suggestion to add.

Still working on Chrismas
When it comes to Lore, it isn't work.

Great job! I like how you plug the channel “in lore”. Btw, spell check Genesis. (Not Genisis)
