Just a note about elderly neighbors: Right before Christmas when we had those 20 degree nights, our dear elderly neighbor had walked out to his garage late around 10 PM one night. The next day, our neighbors next door just happened to look out her office window which by the grace of God, she was able to have a full view of him lying on his back in the carport/garage at 7 AM! He had lay there ALL NIGHT, in an open garage. This 84 year old gentleman survived! He had fallen at 10 PM the night before.
We contacted his daughter who lives in Pelham. She took him to hospital. He was ok, But they kept him overnight bc his temperature was a bit low.
It is a miracle he didn’t break his hip or leg. He just slipped and he wasn’t able to get-traction enough to pull himself up. He was banged up, bled some but only sustained minor scratches. But how he didn’t freeze to death, is a miracle!
Look around, call and lay eyes on those elderly neighbors. Some of the craziest things you never imagined can happen to any of us. Be safe friends!

THIS!!! And to add to your thought, if your town happens to have a Blessings Box where people can leave non perishables and you have the resources, please make sure it's not empty. Drove passed our towns box last night, and it was bare, so we stocked it with canned soups and ramen(I know it's not healthy but it'll be warm food on a cold little belly). Far too many families are going hungry right now without adding Arctic Cold to the mix!

Recently moved here from Chicago area, guess I'll have to put shoes on...😂 Stay safe and warm everyone, and spare a thought for everyone who has to work: hospital workers, firemen/emts, police, military, hospitality services, weatherpersons, etc.

No, no, no, WARNING, this is not the same!!! I've lived in Upstate New York and moved here from the Rocky Mountains. I know snow, I can drive in snow, I'm sure you can too. The rest of Alabama can not and will very soon prove it loudly and in a spectacular fashion! I legit physically laughed at the flurries my first year here while the locals dubbed them Snowmegadon... they called it, they were right. A quarter inch will shut the state all the way down, and cars will be spinning on I20/59 like they are trying to win an Olympic gold medal. May the odds be ever in your favor. Stay safe out there!

@@Katie-zh3tw oh I know. A big part is that they don't know how to clear the roads properly, and the hills.
