Free Time is one of the most important thing when you send the cargo by container. At the same time, there are the similar term, Demurrage and Detention. I explained the difference and how to calculate the dates for smooth logistics.

From what I have retained after wacthing the video, DEMURRAGE= All costs incurred by the consignee when it exceeds the time allocated (free time) to pick its cargo from port/terminal. DETENTION= All costs incurred by the consignee when it exceeds the time allocated to (free time) to return empty container to the indicated port/terminal.

I am young freight forwarder started my career as of 1 year to be completed.it has helped me understand a lot.
Could you please make video on CFS Operations and CLP?
Thanks! CFS operation is like a making Tally sheet? I’m not very familiar with the detail.
CFS (Container Freight Station) is basically a huge transload facility / freight forwarding warehouse
hi ino i work in a logistics company this vidreo is amazing can you make a video about an nvocc company thankyou
Most of shipping lines offering free time from 7-10 days however upon shipper special request free time can extend to 14 to 21 days depends upon shipping line. Some shipping lines are flexible but during this situation shipping lines are reluctant to extend free time.
👍
Good
Thanks!!
Yeah right free time is 3 days these days in LA/LB.
AND they don't put out appointments for it until the last free day.
It's getting shorter recently because of container shortage..😅
Hi, hope you can make some videos about AMS, ACI, ISF 10+2, ISF 5
👍
Hi sir, please make a video on how to calculate laytime, detention and demurrages. Thank you!
laytime?
Here’s my understanding after watch this video. Please correct me if any .Demurrage is storage charge ,this is the length of free time has been exceed. Demurrage is used to prevent container stored at the port a long time . However Detention is a length of the time allocated for collecting from the port unloading the cargo returning empty container to port .You will incur the additional cost if exceed 7 days ..
👍
Hello
May I know what time do i need to pay commercial tax for the imported products?
After arrival on the designated port or do I need to pre pay before arrival of the product?
payment tax is when you do import customs clearance.

Dear Logistics UA-camr,
Request for making a video On Custom warehouse charge calculation.
Thank you for the idea! I will put it on the making list😆
I think freetime = detention and demurrage combined, with a limited days for detention. Normally, at most ports in the world, there are about 3 days for detention to collect containers from ports.
Thank you for your supportive comment! It should depend on the country and shipping line.
In LA/LB, Detention is 5 days allowed out of the port before you return it. Demurrage is 3 days after it is taken off the vessel in LA/LB
I have a question. Free time in emport and import are the same? pls if you can
Yes. there are demurrage for export and import as well. but import demurrage is more serious.
mostly in practically the free time is contain of demurrage and detention, so that if 14 days free time usually it is 3 days free time demurrage and 11 days free time detention. so that it is differ with your explanation. please advise.
It depends on the shipping line and area. In Thailand, free time/detention can be 14/14 combine. but current container shortage situation, free time should be shorter.
What is the difference between demurrage fees vs container excess dwell fees?
I never heard container excess dwell fee... sorry.
Please let me know what are the differences between CFR & CPT
Please watch this video.

Hi inno San , I would like to ask if you have resource for shipment from Thailand to ho chi min (sea freight ) . Do you have an email that I can reach you ?
Yes, we have. please contact me via LinkedIn first😆
If ATA/CY date was on 3rd May , the last day picked should on 16th May..Since free time is calculated base on calendar days...
CMIIW...
it maybe different from carriers and countries, I think.
@@logisticsyoutuberiinosan2358 yes,agree with yr opinion...
Please give us a mathematical solution on the basis of as a practical calculation on mother Vessel free time, detention, demmurages.
could you please explain the condition more clearly so that I can explain.
what is FCL ?
Full container load
One question??
When demurrage cost will b incurred then detention cost will also incur
demurrage happen after you take out the cargo.
detention happen after you return the empty container.
Hi, Can u arrange a buyer for me in respect to buffalo meat export. I would be grateful
sorry, we focus on logistics job only.
Citizenship some company Bangladesh
Free time 14days which counted from ETA . Detention only 7days
depend on the carriers and destinations.
