Thank you for explaining the hardest part of this procedure. I had the original pump 189k miles. I used every tool I had while trying to be careful to not damage the aluminum housing. 2 of the bolt ears broke out of 3. How I did it: I tried prying on the pulley shaft of the water pump but I ended up getting it cockeyed. Very hard to get from the bottom of it. I used a piece of 2x4 and a mallet and beat the pulley shaft. Also I came from the bottom of the car and hit the shift of the water pump with 2x4. Also try using oil filter pliers or channel locks and grab the shift and wiggle it. If it moves even slightly it wants to come out! Keep at it!!
Just noticed coolant drippin’ out of pulley. Looks like water pump issue, probably expanded seal like in this video. Same year, make, & model of this truck you’re workin’ on.
